I have a 1 year old Pit Bull male dog. He LOVES to chew! Is considered an extreme chewer and loves Nylabones. Now, there are different types of nylabones, some are for mild chewers, others moderate, and other extreme. I am curious what the other reviews used, if you give an extreme chewer a flexible mild chew bone it will eat it right up, which is not good of course because it is not edible. I give mine extreme chews, the solid color completely hard plastic type. Such as the Nylabone Big Chew Knot Bone and the Nylabone Durable Bones. I made the mistake of giving my dog a flexible bone when he was about 6 months and he was tearing it apart way too fast so I took it away and only gave the extreme type since. Even with the extreme bones I always supervise his chew time, he never has the bones without me being in the room. But just to give a sense of the durability, I bought him the extreme chews about 4 months ago and the bones are still in great condition! He loves them too, he would sit... Read more

Buyer Beware. I have a corgi who loves to chew. I bought her a non edible nylabone thinking it would be something she could have for awhile. I gave it to her and within 5 minutes she had devoured half of it. I took it away from her. About 2 hours later, she started vomiting. I thought she was car sick because I had returned home from a trip earlier in the day. She vomited 8 times that night and in all the piles I cleaned up were bits of nylabone. I called the ER vets who told me to give her ice and get her comfortable and if she threw up again to bring her in for fluids. The ER vets said they had seen this many times with the nylabones. Thank god after I started giving her ice she calmed down and went to sleep. I will never ever by any nylabone product period. First off if something is supposed to be non edible my dog should not have been able to eat half of it. And if it is a product that could possibly be eaten than it should not be poisonous to your dog. I will only buy... Read more

I got the bacon flavor bones for my dogs. It took them about 10 minutes to gobble them up. I tried them knowing they would not splinter which is a good thing. I felt they were expensive considering I can buy raw bones at the specialty meat store for the same price. I was bummed that it only took them 10 minutes to eat them, too. The raw bones take forever for them to get tired of them, but there is the fear of them splintering and hurting them. Both types of bones give my dogs loose poop, so there is no difference there. I will probably buy these again as a special treat.
