J.C. Watts

He's been out of politics for over 10 years now, doesn't have much of a presence in the media either. He abruptly resigned in 2002, even though his political star was rising in GOP circles. Always suspected that there might have been some sort of skeleton in his closet, but nothing has ever come out.

Or it could be that he realized that he could make a better living, more stress free, serving as a lobbyist.

How’s this for family values. While in high school, Watts who is African American, fathered a daughter with a white female. Their families decided against an interracial marriage because of racial attitudes and Watts' family took care of the child until she was adopted by Watts' uncle.

Great conservative candidate; was a US Representative in Oklahoma when I lived there. Was a leader on several important committees in Washington.

I heard somewhere he voted for Obama in '08. I'm not sure that would sit well with GOP primary voters...

J.C. Watts is a very distingushed, and respected G.O.P. statesman. Your the only one littlefuzz making race an issue on this topic. Watts has a good record, although he will never run.

Nah. I don't think he could win. Great speaker and great guy, but I just don't think so.

Everyone, ignore littlefuz. He is a racist, nothing more. Thank goodness people like him make up the minority of this party.

I don't see this happening, but this would really make for an interesting election season in 2012.

Watts has expressed some dissatisfaction with the GOP, and I have a strong feeling that his ambitions are not directed towards the White House.
