Although they adjust to any environment, I wouldn't recommend them as an inner city kind of dog. Though they tend to be very intelligent and sociable, however, they can become couch potatoes if left unattended. They live to hurd things, including other animals, children, and people, which if you so desire, can be coaxed into an exercise game. Their long coat requires regular maintenance and brushing to prevent accumulations and painfull mats. If your not into spending at least a couple of hours a week brushing your dog, then maybe a short haired animal is better for you.

My family use to own one and she was very friendly. You do have groom them very often but they are such beautiful animals. The one that my parents had would do anything for a dog biscuit, except take a bath that was always fun.

You know that cartoon w/ Whiley Coyote? "Morinin' Frank.... Mornin' Harry". We had one that was picked up by animal control and we kept her for a while. She seemed sweet and intellegent. She made a great pillow when I was 12!
