i love my pom. she's the best. very loyal dogs, she does get a little separation anxiety but i honestly dont mind it and if you train them well they can get over the anxiety quickly. they definitely love alot of attn. better with adults than with children.

The Pom makes a good companion for single owners because they are very loyal and protective. If there are others in the house, they will form limited bonds with them as well. They are highly intelligent and do bond fairly fast, which will cause them to suffer from separation anxiety if removed from their original owner. Good indoor dog that is ideal for appartments or a small house. In addition, they have very few if any health problems as long as they are taken care of properly.

I had a pomeranian for 5 months and I ended up reselling him. He was very beautiful and loving, but I worked and worked with him and could not potty train him. He absolutely ruined my new carpet. I was with him 24/7 and took him out regularly and he would come right in and pee. He was also very hyper and he chewed on everything! I bought him all kinds of chew toys but he preferred my expensive heels. I personally would never buy another pom. Very loving dogs though!

I had a Pomeranian puppy for a short time but I loved her. Her name was Bella and she was a black and white parti Pom. She was the sweetest thing ever. Cute as hell and very friendly. It was very hard to potty train her do to her small bladder. I gave Bella to my Co Worker because my GSD played to rough with her. My GSD is close to 90 pounds and Bella was close to 7 pounds. My Co Worker already had a Pom and a Yorkie so we felt that thats where she would be happiest. I will say that people with small children should not get a Pom do to its small size. They can get hurt very easily. I loved my little Bella, I still get to see her, but she is better off where she is now. In the future when i'm older and can no longer care for a large dog I will get a Pomeranian again.

I have a Pom and he is the greatest dog. He is loyal, kind and loves to give kisses. They are very smart my pom knows how to give paw, lay down, sit and fetch. He loves kids and anyone who comes over. he never barks. If you train them right they will be good dogs. I would from now on only get a pomeranian.

I love pomeranians. I now have my 5th, a parti-colored puppy. I am a dog lover, poms are my favorites. I have owned other breeds. I have showed poms for obedience and judged all breed obedience classes. If poms are socialized and trained consistently, they are the best companions. Companionship is the pom's job. My poms have NOT been yippy or nippy because I trained them not to be. On the otherhand, no one will get near my house without my pom letting me know. For loyalty and entertainment you will find no equal. They can be trained to fetch, do tricks or even for agility competition. They are smart, inquisitive and willing. The owner is the only one to determine their limitations. It is important to find a good reliable pom breeder to be certain you get the best of the breed. Never, buy any dog from a pet shop- you don't know what you're getting. If you decide on rescue or a shelter dog, be sure you can assess the temperment of the dog. You could be getting someone else's well ingrain... Read more

My German Shepards don't like these guys.  Too much hair and not enough meat.

I have only had one in my life, and if she were yippy like the typical members of her breed; I'd probably say I didn't like her. Mine is quiet and very sweet, a little lap dog who loves being brushed. She's the sweetest thing I've ever seen :)

I liked the vampine one from Blade Trinity. He was better than Wesley Snipes in that movie!

I have two pomeranians - a black and tan one that I've had since he was 8 weeks old (he's now 7 years old) and a golden colored one that was a rescue pom. He's 7 1/2 and I've had him about 6 months. After owning a sheltie (super-smart, easy to train, but shed A LOT), I was looking for a smaller dog. I did my research and fell in love with the pomeranians. I have no regrets. They both have wonderful personalities - not mean in the least - and both get along extremely well with other dogs, children, even cats. With small children, I need to supervise, more to protect the dogs - they're so tiny, small children don't understand that they need to be gentle. They're both very good with my niece & nephew - 4 & 5 years old. I don't allow the excessive barking others have commented on, although it is in their nature to be good watchdogs. Love the breed!

Sweet, smart, stubborn, loving and very communicative. They will stand at the door to be let out - or come and find me to ask to go out. I haven't found my dogs to be yippy at all, guess I don't permit it - I take them from the situation. They love everyone - it all depends on how you raise them. I have one that is cautious and one that is full blast ahead and randomly leaps into the air for joy. As for me, a divorced woman who isn't home much, they don't require the attention a larger dog does. My Akita, as wonderful as she is, will tear up stuff when left alone too long because she misses me too much. My Poms even sleep with me. They don't like to roughhouse though and they have gotten used to little babies who twist and pull their fur which mortifies me - I wouldn't put up with it, just supervise the interaction like a good mom or dad and they will be fine.

My Tete Pom is perfect, at 3lbs. I have had her 14 years, been raised with cats and big dogs she's VARY smart and not a barker or nipper and very clam, loves babys and kids, she does think she is the size of a Great Dane though.

This dog is fantastic as long as it is treated right. Not good with little children but great for the older person.

i know several people with pomeranians, and maybe they're just bad examples (obviously i havent been around a whole lot of them) but i find them to be demanding, fussy, nippy, yippy, loud, annoying, high maintenance, bad with strangers, fragile, hyper and just plain wrong for me, anyway. i'm sure that there are some great poms out there, just not any of the ten i've been around.

I've been around dogs all of my life and have been bit 2 times. BOTH of them by Pomeranians. I dogwatched for a friend, this male Pom pee'd on our 2 week old carpet. He was unfriendly & mean. I adopted one from the a shelter( saved his life) the same night he gave me the worst bite I'd ever had. This one peed in the house too. I worked with him for months, trying to help him lose his hatred of people. Then he tried to bite me again, so I, took him back to the shelter. These dogs are adorable to look at. That's it though. Keep kids far away from this vicious breed.

Yappy hyper little dogs. The one we had hated kids and would try to bite them. It also peed in the middle of the bed any time it was given a bath. Vindictive.

I fed my German Shepard a pomeranian and he didn't like the taste. Some small dogs like the Yorkshire Terrier make tasty treats for larger dogs, this breed is just too chewy. They make too much noise when you cut them up too.

These are loving little dogs, but man have they got the hair. My sister-in-law used to shave hers right down near the skin during summertime and that little dog looked so pathetic. I felt sorry for it. They have a good disposition, though.

i'm partial to the sweet babies. they are high strung when they're young, but sooo much fun. mine was very easily trained and well mannered. i love their hair/fuzz. mine didn't shed a whole lot either (believe it or not) until he got about 9 yrs. old. they look so proud when they prance around and they are vain. if mine got a bad haircut, he'd be mad at me and go hide for a day or so. they do need lots of attention and room to move about. poms have major personality and they will get dramatic to get what they want, if your not forthcoming enough for them. i reccommend to anyone who needs a lively companion. very loving and irresistable.

These are very loving dogs. You must be careful around small children because they are small and should not be handled roughly. The only minus to these dogs is the long hair. They are beautiful, but require constant grooming.
