Foster is an atheist and does not follow any "traditional religion," but has "great respect for all religions" and spends "a lot of time studying divine texts, whether it's Eastern religion or Western religion."

When she was young she played prostitutes and carnie bait....then she grew up. Silence of the Lambs is one of the best addaptions from a book to film and she played Starling to the tee. Whether you like the movie she is in or not...she is great in it.

Very versatile and can play different characters convincingly. Very intelligent and was better than most when she started as a child actress. I liked the movie she directed as well "Little Man Tate".

She's an amazing actress who seems to bring a lot of energy to the roles that she's given. I would name 'Silence of the Lambs" as one amazing role, but I have yet to actually see that movie. I'll definitely mention her efforts in "Contact" and "Panic Room" though, as she did great work on those two films. As for her latest, with "Flightplan"; I've been wanting to watch that for some time and doubt she'll disappoint.

Sexy? Did somebody say sexy? She's a lesbian and looks more like a man with every role, and that just don't get it for this heterosexual male.

Great actress. Probably most famous for her roles as Clarice Starling in the wonderful "Silence Of The Lambs".

There's only two actresses of Jodie's generation that i like and they are JODIE and michelle pfeiffer. They both get five stars from me. Jodie is incredible; a great role model who does not let the spotlight get in the way of her craft. What a telented actress. Same goes for Michelle, however, michelle's extraordinary beauty sometimes overshadows her immense talent. Nevertheles, these two women are incredible. Sure as hell beats the crap out of has-beens like Demi 'ugly skank' moore and sharon 'bush' stone. Bashing those two seems to be a trend.

I love Jodie Foster. I think that the intensity that she brings to her roles and the effort she puts into them really shows how strong of an actress she really is. From her earlier performances in Hotel New Hapmshire, to the latest in Flightplan, I think she's a wonderful actress and deserves a lot of credit.

She's a sensational talent and radiates intelligence. From Contact to Panic Room to Somersby to Silence of the Lambs, she's always riveting. It's always a treat to see ber acting in a movie.

One of the very few women who can bring in an audience just to see her. High quality actress ... can carry a movie on her own. There aren't many woman actresses who can do that.

Jodie is smart, she has made some of the best movies and most with her cloths on. I would like to see more from her as a director.

An icon who lives her own life and even had a 'stage mother' named Brandy! Jodie Foster was so great in Taxi Driver that nothing that came could top it. Can be great (Hotel New Hampshire) average (the Accused) less than average (Silence of the Lambs) and downright embarrasing (Nell) and will all the dykes out there leave this woman alone already ! Just because she was anything but convincing as a wife to Richard Gere ! in Sommersby does not make this woman from the Isle of Lesbos........

I rated her higher as a child actress, actually. A fine, but boring actress as an adult. she can't really break out of that low key style of hers. That style, however, can be very effective in many roles.

She and Brooke Shields were hot adolescents at the same time. I wouldn't call Jodie an actress. She's done more than that. To transition from child actor to hollywood legend based on talent and not notoriety and naked pictures, well it's such a rarity. Puts her in a category by herself.

Very good actress who , surprisingly, has managed to move from child star to adult stardom. Silence of the Lambs and Contact were two good roles for her. She could probably be an even bigger star if she wanted to , but she's got name-recognition so she can afford to be selective in the roles she wants to play.

I liked her in her child acting days Taxi Driver especially ast the tomboy image in Freaky Friday and Alice doesn't live here anymore. After she went to school she seemed to say to have that I'm a celebrity who went to a prestigious school and she seemed to act over-intelligent in every movie.

Brilliant and all but does not do much for me. Perhaps it is her rather asexual look. She is not feminine enough for me, just a turn off. Looks more like a guy than a woman.

Very talented character actress. Has much class as well. I get tired of women getting put down becuse they are over 25! I am not seeing this standard applied to the men very often. All those doing this need to re-think their (double) standards. Hey: I have a bulliten for you: YOU TOO (if you are lucky) WILL AGE PAST 25! I am not a feminist ...just get tired of seeing these comments on gals. Another news flash: MEN AND WOMEN OF ALL AGES CAN BE TALENTED (OH YES..STILL) AND BE GOOD LOOKIN. IN ADDITION - THEY CAN DO THIS WITHOUT PLASTIC SURGERY. Beautiful people are fun to look at but - let's not diss the ones who are natural and talented. What - we all have to get surgery to get good feedback? Pls....

Intelligent and strong, both on and offscreen. Loved her in Maverick with Mel, just because she was surprisingly good at comedy. Fozzy, slip back into your quad-bike-induced coma honey...

By far one of the best actresses of all time. Her acting is top of the line. I don't recall ever seeing any terrible movies that she starred in. I didnt care for Taxi Driver, but it wasn't necessarily because of her, as she was a great actress in that as well. All I can say is that she is wonderful.

Again, one of the very best in the business who is in the top five. Only the ignorance of too many who have voted in this poll has her down at this level.
