Watching this movie is just waste of time, from my point of view, and writing this movie review would be wasting even more time. But do it anyway to possibly save some time to somebody else.

300 should be seen mostly for the visuals and intense action. It is adapted from a comic, so it's not historically accurate and I can imagine some people would be offended by the Persians representation. This movie is good entertainment and shouldn't be taken as being more than that. It's a good pop corn flick but don't expect to find the meaning of life behind this movie.

Sarah Silverman said 'This movie is called 300 because on a scale of 1 to 10, that's how gay it is.' Look at that guy yelling at you through the hole in his beard. Look at his mascara-enhanced abdomen. Look at his lack of armor. Know that Spartans BONED their shieldmates. This emotional connection made them fight better, I guess. Two ancient armies I would run from: Spartans and Sumerians. Kill a spartan, have his highly trained man friend use you for a pinata. Get cut by a Sumerian, get gonorrhea and syphilis. See, Sumerians wanked on their weapons, because wank was magic to them. Sorry to break it to you about Gilgamesh and the guys that wrote the bible (the first time).

This movie was spectacularly worthless. The acting was wooden, the action cartoonish and the "video game" look of it was unimpressive.Kind of like watching someone else play a boring video game....for over an hour.

Right, I found this film is historically intriguing, but is it entertaining..? Well, at some aspects it is, but at some are completely random like the famous quote 'THIS IS SPARTA!!' well this is the only reason why people watch the film most of the times, but the bloody and intense action gives 'edges' to this film and brings out the detail.

The movie has great graphics and a dark setting. The persian army of over a million will assualt sparta and 300 greek spartans stand in their way, fearless. Amazing combat fighting and the blood and gore is done right, nove overdone or not underdone. Longlasting movie with action throughout, great slow motion fighting scenes.

Decent. When I watch these kinds of movies, I'm in it for the action and not for the long backstory of the queen's predicaments. Needs less talking and more killing!

This is a good movie. It came out in 1982. It stars Nick Nolte as Jack Cates. An Indian named Billy helps a prisoner named Gans escape from a road gang. They are after some money. Cates gets Reggie(Eddie Murphy) out of jail for 48 Hours to search for Gans. Reggie has stashed away half a million dollars that Gans wants. For a while Reggie doesn't tell Cates about the $500,000. But he soon confesses. This movie is funny and has action. If you like comedy dramas, buy or rent 48 Hrs. I give it a 4 star rating.

Gotta give it a 5. Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte displayed a great chemistry here, and the film was perhaps the best-ever blend of action and comedy.

Released in 1982 and directed by Walter Hill, 48 Hrs. is a successful buddy cop film which launched Eddie Murphy as a film star. For the uninitiated, the story involves the escape of a murderous convict who is trying to get his hands on some loot before his ex-partners do. In order to catch the killer, streetwise detective Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) releases con-man Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy), who was a member of the old gang, for 48 hours so that he can help the investigation. Through several trials and tribulations, the duo come to respect each other. Though a tired theme, this film works primarily due to the chemistry between Nolte and Murphy, especially since the latter's comedy was still fresh at the time. The bottom line is that 48 Hrs. is one of the better fighting partners, cop films to be released and is responsible for many similar movies to be released afterwards.

Eddie Murphy at his comidic best; young, funny, and full of life. Nick Nolte playing his stereotypical self, drunk, bitter and hard as hell. Plus, with San Francisco as the backdrop, it doesn't get better. If there is any doubt, watch the scene with Eddie saying, "there's a new sheriff" in town.

Though this movie was old, I found the character to be humorous. Eddie Murphy was great. The crime and the chase was a little unlifelike so that dropped the rating.

I love Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte in 48 Hours. It was definitely one of my favorite action movies.

Classic Eddie Murphy movie about a convict who has 48 hours to help a cop get the bad guys. Great action, and Murphy is hilarious as always. This is the birthplace of the line, "There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Reggie Hammond."

That was a cool movie. I love Eddie Murphy, even though people think he's getting old. I think he's a great actor.

Funny, good action, plausible plot. Great casting. Nick Nolte plays a straight man.

I saw this movie recently, and it came across as very, very dated. The tired cop show theme, of the two partners who apparently despise each other, but really respect each other, in this movie is made even worse by Hollywood's typical heavy handed dose of race humor. A very forgettable movie.

I think I would consider this more of a comedy than an Action/Thriller movie, but either way, it was great. It was Eddie Murphy's first movie role and kicked off as good of a start to a career as anyone has had (after 48 Hrs. there was Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop). Murphy and Nick Nolte were an excellent team. Unfortunately, they decided to get back together for Another 48 Hrs which was awful.
