This stupid band and its 'hardcore for a girly band' name makes me laugh every time I think about it. What a bunch of clowns. If I was stuck at one of their shows and they said they couldn't play, or quit after two songs, I'd be so happy, I'd probably buy a T-shirt.

Overrated and gave us some shitty albums. However the one good one they made was pretty good and a definate classic. However they aren't the true badasses of rock n'roll but they were in comparison to motely crue. I liked appetite for destruction.

GNR had some moments. I wonder if CHINESE DEMOCRACY will be any good; it cannot be good enough to justify more than a decade of production time - nothing featuring the vocalizations of Axl Rose could be that good.

A super late 80s early 90s band! They made 4 superb albums(apettite for destraction,Lies, use your illusion 1&2), a trash(the spangeti incident) and one that never finished (Chinise Democracy)      I love them! My favorite song is "One in a million" they were the only band that had the balls to say the trouth straight.

EDIT (15/5/2008): In the two years since I wrote my last review, my opinion of Guns N' Roses has changed beyond belief. Many of the songs that I previously disliked ('Paradise City', 'My Michelle', etc.) have grown on me substantially over the past two years. These last two years have not been that easy for me. Some of this music helped me through, propelling me into hitherto unexplored fantasies. Unfortunately, Chinese Democracy is still on its way (it may also be reflection of the cyclic nature of the band that the description is obviously outdated), The comment about Axl being a misogynistic idiot still stands.

I originally gave them a  4 but truth is their limitations are woefully exposed from overplay on the radio. 'Paradise city, 'Sweet child..' and the better album tracks are OK when you hear them once in a blue moon but as they're staples of rock radio they soon become very boring on hearing them for the umpeenth time. And the interminable dirges that are 'Knocking on ..' and 'November rain' are very trying. The main reasons are when Rose goes all nasal screeching and Slash's cliched widdly solos. Two stars as they're still preferable to the p*sspoor Velvet Revolver (sh*te poncy name an all)

Legends as simple as that, Most of the comments i read are not from real guns n' roses fans, Sweet child, jungle and paradise are NOT their best songs hear Estranged,Coma,One in a million and Dont Damn Me Perfection. Axl Rose is the best frontman ever, and the new guns n' roses is rly good just listen to better, the blues,TWAT,Irs,chinese democracy...When Cd comes out it will be the best album iin years much better than the crap that comes out now.

I'll give G&R; a 3 just cause they were short-lived.  I think Axl Rose completely has ruined their credibility and continues to do so.  Re-tooling the band can only be done so much and when you're the only one left then it really isn't G&R--it;'s simply the "Axl Rose Show" and has been for almost 20yrs.  With that being said, Appetite and the Use Your Illusion albums are great albums.  But when Duff, Slash, Steven and so on have all moved on then it's kind of hard to rate em any higher....the name G&R; should've left w/them and then they would've got 5 stars.

I am not the biggest heavy metal fan, as it runs counter culture to my standards, but I enjoy listening to G-n-R. Paradise city, Sweet child O' Mine, Don't Cry and November Rain are my favorites.

Although I'm not quite sure what Axl has done to the band to make them so damned awful, and what is taking him so long with 'Chinese Democracy', Guns 'n' Roses released some great and very memorable rock songs. From the melancholy 'November Rain' to the fast and fun 'Welcome To The Jungle', GnR have a huge fanbase and will be remembered for years... And you never know, if Axl pulls his act together, they might even release some more great music...

They had a good run but Axl needs to let it die. Chinese Democracy is never getting made...

They certainly scaled the heights of the music business in thier time and then they imploded and now Axl skips out on concerts. What a way to end it. Still waiting for Chinese Democracy, at least before I collect Social Security. Last check says the release date of late March 2007 has been postponed...again.

GnR gotta to be the top 5 best band ever! People voting less than 4 stars are crazy. Without GNR there would never had been Nirvana or Pearl Jam.

If their is a bridge between the 80's metal scene and 90's grunge, to me it's G&R.; They definately weren't the pop metal pansies (see Poison, Warrant, Winger, etc.)that were all over the radio at the time, they were a little "dirtier" and more serious. Night Train and Mr. Brownstone are two of my fave tunes.

Excellent band, but not consistent. 'Appetite... ' was a great rock release, but everything that followed paled in comparison. If they had more excellent 'output', I might have given them more stars.

slash is a good guitarist and their first cd was cool but way overated, and the WORST live band ive ever seen(australia) skid row supported them in aus and even though skid row was already forgotten by then they were 1000000000000000000000000 times better live than the poor excuse for the performance that gnr put on and for the price of the tickets the worst let down for a concert of ALL TIME (and a band for that matter)lets face they were a radio rock/pop band just like(and this should please all their fans) i compare them to the other band that was big at the time NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK(axl would have been great in this band he would have fit right in) this message brought to you by a tool fan

They sucked then and they really suck now. One of the most over rated bands of all time. If the original line up had got rid of Axel they would all be together. A bag pipe played by a four year old sounds better than Axel's wailing and attempts at vocals.

Brought the blues back into metal. Great Job! Slash is the best blues/metal guitarist ever, (except Jimmy Page) and Axl, despite his raspy voice of which he amazingly makes it work, is, if not only for energy, one of the greatest front men ever.

G&R; is easily one of my favorite bands. Appetite, Use Your Illisuion Iⅈ are easily three of my favorites to workout to ... and November Rain is one of my top 5 songs ever written. It's always amazing to me how this insane group of drug addicts kept it together for as long the time that they did. And wrote some really lyrically strong pieces like Estranged and Civil War.

My favorite band of all times. I own all of their cdsand i think they all are amaizing, worth listening to works. Appetite for destruction is an all time hard rock classic. Even people who don't really like Gn'R have said that this is an album everyone should have on their cd collection. Lies it's a short cd, only 8 songs, but it made 2 big hits (Used to love her and the all time ballad Patience) and also it showed the streghnt of their live performances. Use Your Illusion 1 n 2 are really under-rated cds. Persoanlly i find them absolutly amaizing pieces of work. They have a little bit of everything: hard rock, slow ballads, blues, and even a RAP! Their last studio album, the spaghetti incident is made totally of punk songs covers. I know this might sound very un-original but it's truly amaizing how they can take an almost totally unknown song, make it their own, and even turn it into a big hit (say: Since i don't have you) With Guns n Roses there are no middle points. You like them or... Read more

The new GNR leaves much to be desired but as far as the original line-up goes there was no bad in the world at the time that could have invigorate the scene like they did. They captivated such a large mass of people all at once and was just the change that the music industry needed at the time to make way for the new types of music that were to be ushered in, hair metal was out and GNR was just the bad to prove it.

What could've been? I'm giving them 2 stars not necessarily because they're music is bad, but because they're a bunch of idiots. It's happened to other bands, but it's sad to see a group with the potential to be one of the best ever just piss it all away.

What a great band! Axl Rose hits notes that a dog can't hear. Jungle and Sweet Child of Mine are two of the greatest songs of all time. No one can argue with this. If you don't like guns, you're probably gay.

This is based or the original Guns N' Roses, of course. If you want a band with the F*** you, we don't care, and you can't do anything about it attitude, look no further. If you'd rather sacrifice talent and great sounding music for consistency to show up go see Britney or another pop icon who cares about all you valuable fans. In my opinion, the music made deserves as high a ranking as can be given, and the attitude as well, rock is supposed to be rebelious, and tell me, were they not? And Sweet Child O' Mine has to be among the greatest songs ever, i'm in agreement with BeanoCook.

Axl is a real idiot. They have a bit of good material though. I like Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child 'O Mine, and November Rain. Appetite for Destruction was a great album, but that was their only good album and peak as a band. But I have to say, that album really rocks.
