i'm indifferent to her now.  honestly, i was rooting for her a little prior to her VMA performance.  i kinda wanted her to show the world that she was over her dumb, sowing my wild oats phase... but she bombed it.  maybe it's time for her to grow up a little, change her image, and write songs about legitimate subjects other than sex and parties.  i don't see her crawling out of this hole any other way.  if not, i'll just let her fizzle out and dissappear. no big deal for me.  Oh, and she still wasn't ugly.

Just to be a bit contrarian, and because I hate to see folks kicking people when they're down - even celebrities, I'll say this. I was watching a rerun of an old SNL the other day, and Britney was the host. I don't really know how to say this, so I'll just say it.

She was..... likable.

She was self depracating, had a pretty good sense of humor, and of course, was good looking. She was an entertainer.

Years and bad decisions have taken their toll, but one if not both of those things will catch up with all of us eventually. It just didn't take very long for her.

Isn't there a war on somewhere?  I haven't seen this much over reaction to a crappy performance since Hubert Humphrey let Nixon slip past him in 1968, and at least then there was something at stake, like peace in our lifetime.  She dissapointed her fans, so what, there aren't that many of them out there anymore.  She doesn't owe anything to the rest of us, since we don't buy her records or go to her concerts.  And one more thing, I'd like to see the abs of every portly TV reviewer who griped about Britney's body during her appearance.

She's adolescent trash. Can't sing for manure, either.

I dont have cable at the moment but I saw a few clips of Britney performin' at the VMA's and I felt embarrassed for her. She sounded horrible, but I never was a fan of her voice anyway.(it sounded too fake and weird mayne). I dont think she was fat but she was a little doughy for her standards. What really made me feel embarrassed for her was when that douche Sarah Silverman said Britney's kids were an accident. What did her kids do to you Sarah??

A real artist. Because of her originality in terms of musicality, and her rare charisma, she's no doubt the queen of pop.

Her singing wasn't bad (though not as great as her popularity might suggest), and I didn't much care for most of her songs, but I'll certainly give her credit for the entertainment factor and her ability to gain and maintain popularity with her lacking abilities.

Britney is not a very good singer, but she is a great entertainer. She has moves, she has body, hair, and face, she is likable to a point. She also has a few songs that permanently stock in my head. She got be worth something.

Britney started out as this cute little pop singer that had cool tunes and was yet another role model for tweens. Then...boom!! It all went downhill, and everything came off (including her clothes). Her songs got full of sex and her outfits became non existant. She began to become famous for her actions off the stage, more so than on. She is no role model at all.

There are a lot of people out there that talk trash about Bit-Bit, but I will be honest. I think she is great-looking and can do well even though her stock seems to have fallen because of K-fed.

I'm over forty so I barely knew who Brittney Spears was. I finally had a chance to hear her sing on Satuday Night Live. I laughed thru the entire performance thinking it was part of a funny skit. When I realized she was serious, I really laughed. This girl couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag!
