J Crew used to be one of my favorite places to shop for myself and daughters. So I spent alot of money there at times. The past year I have been so disappointed in the quality and the styles. I am 50 now and cant really find anything age appropiate for myself. They dont have the classic look they once did, its more high school or college age styles. My daughters agree with me, they no longer like to shop there. Over the summer I purchased several of their t-shirts and three of them already have holes, and I always read the label for care instructions which I followed. I dont mind to pay the price for higher quality, but J Crew is over priced for the bad quality they have started selling. Plus I would be so embarrased to wear alot of their stuff.

Just bought a couple J Crew polo shirts. The proportions are terrible. Sleeves way too short and tight - I'm not a body builder but felt like Popeye! Rumor has it the tight sleeve is the "modern" look - what happened to traditional - these seem better suited to porn stars...

I've been wearing Jcrew clothes for years. But over the last few years, they've seriously taken a dive in quality. The sizes are all wrong. I bought 3 pairs of 34-30 kahkis over the last 6 months and they've all fit differently. Also, the t-shirts wear out in just a few months to the point where they become holey. The button up shirts and jackets are the worse. I don't know who or what they use as a template to cut their clothes, but the fit is terrible. I have an athletic build and i can't even wear an XL. It feels like I'm wearing Old Navy clothes. The chest is cut far too narrow and the cut on the sleeves at the shoulders is so tight it began to numb my arms. Horrible! I'm finished with JCrew.

Ordered stuff on sale. Of course, it is final sale and so no return or exchange. All items fit larger (i.e. they run big) and were not really cut in a flattering way, especially the jacket. One of the dresses especially was nothing as pictured. The color combined with the fabric make it look more like a nightgown and so for $79.99, I am stuck with a highly overpriced nightgown. Wont order from there again. Not to mention that the stuff took forever to show up.

I bought a sweater in Feb., 2009. I worn it just twice and after that I hanged it in my closet. You know what, a few days ago I took a look at the sweater again, and I found a hole on the back of the sweater because of the poor quality. When I bought it, there was no hole on the back. I recommend to check the quality of the sweater first before buying it, especially for the final sale sweaters because you cannot return.

I like their summer selection. Not overstated, no crazy graphic designs on their t shirts or collared shirts which I don't care for. Mostly solid colors and sometimes with a logo in the middle. A lot of these type of shirts are $30-$40 which is high for my taste for either, but they are well made and comfortable, and fit right.

I've been a loyal J. Crew customer for at least 5 years now and enjoy the style and design of women's clothing offered every year. As usual, I purchase clothing from J.Crew roughly every two to three months, to the tune of 2K a year at minimum; however, as of late I have had one too many bad customer service occurrences with J.CREW representatives. Like any shopper, I take advantage of J.CREW specials on items I really like, purchasing a few at a time, numerous times a year. Specifically, on Friday, June 5th, I placed an order for some silk-linen v-neck sweaters I randomly purchased in store a month ago, and enjoyed the two so much, I ordered two more. To my surprise, J.CREW added an additional perk of an additional 20% off the items and since I just placed the order on Friday, I called today, Monday June 8th to request the additional 20% off of the items purchased. Per previous experience with J.CREW if an item goes on sale within seven days of your order they make the price adjustmen... Read more

Awful customer service and communication. I had to order a bridesmaid dress from Jcrew. Without notifying me that the dress was out of stock they simply canceled the order after 2 months and never told me. AFter I called to check the order they told me that the colors swatches have changed and now I can't get the dress. If Jcerw wants to be a player in bridal dresses this is not acceptable behavior. I would never order form them again.

I wish I could have given them half a star but that wasn't an option. I think I just shopped from J. Crew for the last time! This company is way overrated and overpriced. I had to buy a bridesmaid dress from them for my friend's wedding. It looked so cute in the photos and when the girls got their dresses, they were HUGE and the zippers were busted. For $250 bucks I would hope they could put in a decent zipper, but don't expect it. We all had trouble with our zippers. And recently I ordered a yoga headband for 15 bucks... yes I know this was my own fault, but I needed one and was curious to see the quality and this "rubber grip" that they were talking of on the inside of the band. I got the band, it's the same quality of the bands that I got at Target for 6 for $5 and the "rubber grip" consists of running stitches of teeny weeny elastic thread that doesn't catch anything. So I just want everyone to know, don't waste your money here! Unless you see this stuff on some huge mega sale, it ... Read more

Great clothes at very reasonable prices if you know how to use their sale section. I always get compliments from my more fashion-forward friends when I wear J.Crew items, and I'm almost always pleased with the quality. The cashmere does pill rather easily, but it is very soft (I would say mediocre quality), and I like the way the sweaters are cut for a younger, more flattering look (not that baggy look some department stores consider "classic" but I consider more... geriatric). And the customer service is always excellent. Overall, I give J.Crew five stars!

Clothes are ok quality. But everything is made in China, which does not justify the prices they charge. They now have a no-return policy on sale items. This retailer appears to be in trouble.

Ive been a J Crew customer for over 10 years. Over the last few years the quality has gone downhill and the prices continue to escalate. Their cashmere sweaters and cotton t-shirts are a real disappointment. I wouldnt pay the money for either of them. Their suiting seems to be OK. If you want consistent quality, albeit a bit more conservative style, try Brooks Brothers. In summary- J. Crew like the style, hate the quality.

Got to love the JCrew. The quality on the clothes is great and fashionable. The prices are a bit much, but they often have great online clearance deals. Just be careful, if you get something on clearance you cannot return it.  You can often find coupon codes to use online or in the store on www.slickdeals.net. Once I ordered 6 polo's for 9.99 each online and at the time they retailed for 49.50.

I recently ordered a wedding dress from Jcrew (the Avery Dress). I ordered it on a sunday and received it 2 days later. Everyone I called was outstanding to work with. The reps on the 800#, the girls in the Special Occasions Dept. and The employees at the Cherry Creek Store in Denver, CO we all wonderful to work with. This is the best customer service I have ever received on a retail level! Thanks to Jcrew for all of their help and making my wedding less stressful! Jamie Cruz Denver, CO

J Crew offers clothes with a simple elegance that will never go out of style. The lines of the clothing are straight and clean. I always feel well dressed and put together when I wear anything from J Crew. I look forward to each new season and find that they simply out do themselves each time. You can go from casual to dressed up for any elegant occassion. Anyone that finds J Crews style to be "boring" and "the same old thing" is perhaps boring themselves.

I have been a loyal J.Crew shopper for ten years and will regretfully stop shopping there and encourage others to do so until they stop selling fur. In a civilized society, the barbaric act of killing animals for the sake of status is abhorrent. I would encourage anyone unfamiliar with the fur industry to do a little bit of research to see the conditions in which the animals are kept. With so many fake options out there, there's just no excuse.

I refuse to shop at J.Crew because of their policy on fur. They have already openly promised to stop selling fur and fur trim products, both to the public and to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. They still sell the stuff and I find it a let down. After all the publicity of the way in which fur is produced and the treatment animals have to endure for J.Crew to have it's fur, I'm amazed it can carry on selling it. They have a poor customer service policy, refusing to acknowledge the comments that I and many others have submitted.

    J. Crew's catalogues and seasonal collections look the same, year after year after I've received them without fail. However, since I live in trend-conscious California, I've found that J. Crew's fashions are so terribly boring. The fabrication and the cuts of their clothing are so frumpy and look like overpreppy East Coast fashion. Their associates are also not very knowledgeable, nor are they helpful. When I enter their stores, rarely do associates say hello or even check up on me in their fitting rooms. Banana Republic has much better fashion-right fabrications and their seasonal collections carry sophisticated interpretations of modern clothing, not frumpy outdated East Coast style. I suppose it's ok to look like you stepped out on a ranch, college town or somewhere on a Virginia beach..but as far as L.A. and San Francisco fashion-aware people tend to shop, the majority really do not appear to be wearing J. Crew as much as our East Coast brethren. But as for me personally, I ... Read more

It's hard to look bad in anything made by J.Crew. The styles are classic enough to be worn year after year, yet they come out with slightly new patterns and colors annually. You could wear entirely J.Crew outfits and still look like you have a wide variety of clothing. The stores are very well organized, and I've never seen unhelpful staff at any of their locations. Definitely one of my favorite stores, and a terrific place for either men or women.

I used to shop here a lot (stores, catalog, and website) about 4-5 years ago. Back then, they were just an all-around solid store. Now they've gotten more expensive and their men's selection has become a little more erratic, but they're still worth a look.

What's great about J Crew is the style. No matter what your wearing, J Crew Clothing and accessories will go well with it. Also, the clothes never go out of style, and always look good. Furthermore, the quality is unbelievable. A ten year old crew shirt looks like it was bought yesterday.

So I never really bought anything at J. Crew because their clothes always seemed overpriced, plain, and a tad ugly. On top of that, their financial department works with my dad's company, and he claims they're terrible to deal with, always jerks, or trying to rip someone off. But...one sad day, I was bored and stuck at a lousy shopping complex with nothing better to do than look at J. Crew. Probably out of that boredom, I bought a skirt and some flip-flops. The flip-flops: I have many pairs of this type of shoe and like to believe I'm an expert in wearing them. This particular pair, however, always somehow seems to bend down on the front end causing my toes to scrape the concrete that I'm typically walking over. The skirt: I'm having to bust @ss to make to all my classes on time today, all the while pulling down the back of the skirt that was somehow not made right and has the tendency to bunch up and show my @ss to everyone. So thank-you J. Crew for letting me look like I'm d... Read more

Have you ever noticed that when a J. Crew item was manufactured in a Western nation, J. Crew catalogs note the items origin: made in Italy, USA, UK, Canada, Scotland, etc.? However, when an item was manufactured in the 3rd world, J. Crew catalogs note the item as imported. Usually, when an American hears the term imported, it means that the item is exclusive enough to bring here, since the item is top notch, and therefore costs more. For example, Amstel Light is imported from Holland, Rolls Royce is imported from England and St. Andres is imported from France. Therefore these items generally cost more than your plain American beer, car or cheese. Unfortunately, when J. Crew terms an item imported, it almost always means the item was made in a 3rd world nation. Therefore, the item is not necessarily exclusive, but probably simply cost less for them to manufacture. My question is, is J. Crew trying to deliberately mislead the American public by selling Americans cheaply made ... Read more

Oh how I love J. Crew! I look forward each month to the day I get the new catalog in the mail. I prefer the catalog to the actual store, the store rarely carries all that I have wanted from the catalog. The clothes are always high quality, and I have never been dissapointed by anything that I have ordered from the catalog. And also they always have the cutest, best fitting swimsuits. Oh I could just go on forever about how I love J. Crew!

The coat I have from J. Crew is the most finely assembled piece of clothing I have ever owned. The lining doesn't produce static on the driest winter days. Fit is perfect and the wool is very dense compared to every wool coat I've seen, military issues excepted. I have some socks from there. No indication of fade on repeated washings. And I own a burgundy sweater that's at least five years old. Its fit has not distorted at all, the dye is still brilliant in color, and I've only had to shave the sweater once. All in all, the best three articles of clothing I've ever owned.
