I agree with the quality issues. AS SPECIALY THE JEANS. I am looking to find the old style they had with the red express tag on the inside, this line says made in Macua. I have both pair out right now and the older line fit like a glove after 2 years, they are just much more heavier and have a nice dense feel to them. The new style that is made in China feel like rags compared to the older ones. They just dont give me the confidence that they will last, very thin, very light weight. I am very disapointed, I wouldnt be wasting my time to give an opinion on jeans, but wtf the old pair are my fav and I feel ripped off buying the new make. I am kicking myself that I didnt buy 3 pair of the old make. This is how companies go down, they get you in the store with their coupons, you get use to the hi qaulity and then get screwed because they found cheaper fabric and cheaper facilities to pump out and squeeze higher profits. How much more money do they expect to make on these clothes? Clot... Read more

I really like the fitted shirts and pants for work. They look tailored, and they have a lot of sales, like $20 off pants and buy one shirt, get one 50% off. I like their shirt colors which are bright although some look too metro. Also the Producer pants are a light wool or cotton and have nice faint plaid designs. But, I've had to exchange the same pair twice now for ripping along the seam.

I use to shop ONLY at Express for a year straight on 2008. Thereafter, I started noticing and matching the quality of their clothing and found out that the quality has been diminishing more and more as their prices for "new" styles of clothing went up more and more. I asked the cashier: "what's up with the quality of the clothes you guys sell? the last graphic t-shirt I bought started getting loose on me (and I follow the care-directions tag)" and the cashier couldn't even reply with their own opinion but rather stated "we have no say in the quality of the garments." Yet! they wear the new styles as if it's fashionable. For example, the new track jackets (10/2009) that came out has only 1 LAYER of fabric!!! and the price is $89.50. WTF?!?!?!?! over priced and does not even look slick because it is so thin that people can see what you are wearing underneath! My advice -- shop at Forever21, GAP, or American Eagle Outfitters!!! At least they have quality for the price to match it.

First of all I did like their style of clothing for the time being, until I started using their credit card. And at the point I need to pay it off using different payment options. I called their customer service to get lived customer service find out what other options in payment and all I get recording machine with very few options. You can repeat the crap menu or log on website. THAT'S IT!! There is no lived customer service. Then I applied to pay online using my other credit card that have plenty of credit line or good credit. Express sent email next couple day after deadline and no bill letter from them. The email did not say anything about did not approval but to check your payment online. Automatic charge me fee on top of that and said I cannot pay online with no explanation whatever!! They have way around to be unfair with you on their credit card. THEY ARE SCAM!! Do not use their credit card and they charge very high interest! Over 22%!! TOTALLY UNFAIR clothing company. I will... Read more

First off, I have to agree with all the comments about the store from people who work there. Were brainwashed to think that attacking a customer is the "right approach" to getting a customer to buy, Now before I went into retail, When I would shop, I liked to do it on my own, and if I needed help I would find an associate and ask for help. At Express were supposed to pretty much stalk the customer, to make sure their doing okay. Its not only with the service, its with that dang credit card bullcrap, were supposed to nag the customer into getting one, even after repeated no's, and in my history, I've actually had people get mad at me for doing so. The company is so messed up, its unreal. And not to mention the countless return for people putting on the clothes and holes tearing into them, some of the clothes fabric is so shear it tears so easily, but yet they slap a $40 price tag on it, and try and say its "good quality" I will say the jeans are good, except some people complain about h... For me, express is not that interesting. I feel like they're pretty classy, but in the end, their clothes are just plain, even though they try to come across as having a sense of style and design. Everything looks so tested...as if they had to make sure each piece is mainstream enough to be acceptable.

This place is great for skinny guys. They actually have pants that make people with no butts look great! Their men's dress shirts are some of the best. Ties are kinda weak. It's amazing what some morons here are commenting on. Nobody came here to read about how it was like for you to work at one store. It's about the clothes they sell, and customer service. Price is also a very relative term that people here love to be hyperbolic about.

I have to say that i was a big Express shopper for a very long time. Until I decided to get a part time job. By Far Express is one of the worst clothing store to work for! I have worked retail all my life, and this was horrible. First the mangers hardly give the associates any real training we were trained on the registers for maybe 15 minutes. Never was I even trained to do a return until 2 weeks later! Those stupid headphones they make the associates wear are not for just calling in the backroom for a size it's for every hour or so the managers get their little headsets to yell at every one to sell, sell more pants!!! Legs they call it.Our Conversions are down Blah, Blah!!! The store manger of the Express store that I worked was so miserible and so disgruntled. He never said hello to anyone, was rude all the time. Just before I quit me and one other girl who started the same time as i did we were left at the register doing like 10 returns that we had no idea what to do. Than I over h... Read more

Great clothes but they would be better if their prices were lower. They have great casual clothes and dressy clothes. They also have great jeans. They carry a mens line too. It's smaller than the womens but the prices are high also. The quality is good but the prices aren't.

Don't hate just b/c you can't afford the clothes. Shop at the Gap, Old Navy, or somewhere else. Express styles are developed at 5th avenue in nyc and you have to pay for that. I love their clothes and are always right with the new styles.

They have a nice selection, with some very attractive clothes. I do feel that they are very overpriced though. The clearance items are usually not very nice, which is probably why they remain unsold at regular prices.

The quality of the clothing at Express has really, really gone downhill. I bought a pair of their slacks in 1996 for about $80. These became my favorite pants and I wore them once every two weeks until last year. The fabric was of exceptional quality, obviously. I went to Express last year to purchase a new pair of slacks. The first thing that I noticed was how thin the fabric was in all of their pants. I figured that maybe lighter/thinner was better. So, I paid $70 for a pair of Editor pants. I wore these slacks only three times. They were already pilling and wrinkled easily. On the third day, my heel got caught in the back of the pants and the pants completely ripped! When I got home, I realized why. The pants were made of the thinnest material. I held them up to the light and you could see right through them. The pants were useless and there went my money. I stopped in Express on Saturday in hopes of finding a pair of black wide-leg trousers. Again, the $70 Editor pants were very ... Read more

Prices are fair only when there is a good sale. They're regular prices are outrageously high. Also, I don't know if this is just the store I went to but their customer service is very poor. Recently, I was there shopping when they were having a big %off sale. I had an exchange to make that day as well but I thought it might be easier to just purchase everything first and handle the exchange after. My first issue was that the %off did not automatically ring up and the cashier did not fix it until I mentioned it to him after he gave me my total. I think that is a very deceptive practice which makes it very inconvenient for the customer. Secondly, after making the purchase I asked him if I could make an exchange and he told me that the other cashier can do that and walked away. I work retail and I know when you're in the middle of helping a customer you shouldn't just shove them off and make them wait in line AGAIN. Especially if the employee is the supervisor in charge which I found ... Read more

For the most part I like Express and I have shopped there for years. But recently, I went to return something and the cashier asked for my driver's license. I didn't understand what she wanted. Finally I realized that she wanted to swipe my driver's license card! I objected to this very strongly but was told that I could not return my merchandise without a swipe of my driver's license. She said the company does this to track people who do too many returns. Anyway, I vowed never to shop there again.

I like Express. Both guys and girls can find something. I like it's modern, colorful, and affordable clothes. Saying that, I normally but their clothes when they have their specials ($10-30 range). By no means I'm cheap, but practical...absolutely.

They design and fit their jackets perfectly. Moderately high quality and practical designs. From my experience they always use comfortable fabrics. My only complaint would be that the thigh areas for their pants are too big. Right price for the right quality.

Express isn't a great clothing store, but it isn't bad either. I have found their regular prices to be atrociously high, but they do have some great sales and end of the season clearance prices. Also, they have great specials for credit card holders (20-25% off at times). The jeans fit very nice and look classy, especially if you have a tall, skinny build, like myself. Their shirts all have a very similar look to them: the colors are bold and flashy and usually have a plain color or striped pattern to them. The cloth used for the men's button-up shirts is high quality, but it is not wrinkle-free and requires significant time with an iron after washing or even wearing. I have found that the buttons are not stitched on well AT ALL. If you have a shirt from Express, check the loose threads on the buttons. A slight pull on the thread, and most often the thread will unravel and off goes the button. While it is not particularly hard to stitch buttons, it can get a little annoying. ... Read more

It's not where I primarily shop (I mainly shop at Gap and New York and Company), but I love Express for getting some trendy, colorful tops. And I really like their dress pants and skirts. Not a fan of their jeans, though. They fit a little too snug for my tastes, and it seems like even their short lengths are too long for me. Overall it's a bit overpriced, but they have great clearance sales!

Cute clothes, a variety of cuts and styles, uncluttered stores, and rather high prices. But if you need something decent looking in a hurry, this is a good place to go. I do wish they carried all their pants in petite. I don't know why they only carry certain styles in petite but not others.

i love express clothing. they have the best fitting jeans of any i've tried and i really like their bra tops as well. they do have seasons where they seem to miss. a lot. but overall i like their clothing. and some of the colors are bad, but i tend to favor black and they make everything in black anyway. i've never noticed the clothing being poor quality and don't have a single express item that has fallen apart. definitely a store i'll be shopping at for a long time.

Ok so after working at Express since May I can say that this is a bad company to work for.I once thought this was a great clothing store. My opinion has definately changed.First off we (the employees) are forced to basically attack the customers when they come throught the door.If a customer does not leave the store with at least three purchased items then I get repremanded at the end of my shift. I cannot exactly put a gun to someones head and make them buy stuff. Another point to make Express wants to sell stuff to everyone even if it does not fit right or is ugly just try to get the customer to buy it anyway. This company is driven by greed and money and that is all that matters at the sacrifice of customers and employees. Because the employees are brainwashed to sell stuff to people even when they do not want it a person could go into the store and be attacked by three or more workers all desperate for a sell. The clothes are crap. Poorly made and way overpriced. The only time that... Read more

I'll look around in this store every so often for black dress pants to wear to a job interview. But it's not a store I depend on for my primary wardrobe. I'm more of an American Eagle kind of girl. Plus, the last time I shopped there I didn't have a good experience. I was trying to find some petite length jeans. I went to go try them on in the fitting room, and the SA was knocking on the door every two minutes asking if I was OK. It was almost like she was expecting me to shoplift something! And I had a good three pairs to try on and examine myself in! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my jeans. And I like to take my time when shopping for jeans as well. I don't appreciate being treated like a thief! If I want that kind of treatment, I'll shop at Wal-Mart!

I feel like I stepped onto the set of Zoolander when I'm at the Express (for men). What with the euro-trash techno playing and their employees dressed like they're going out clubbing. Their clothes aren't that bad. I've seen some decent items... but all of their clothes look better on manequins than actual people. The stuff I've bought there, I hardly wore, often ending up at the goodwill. They have some funky finishes for their jeans... but the denim they use is sometimes cheap and thin. When their jeans are on sale, it's not a bad purchase but at regular price (Anywhere from $50-$80) it's totally not worth it. You're better off paying an extra 50 dollars and buying some high end jeans. Overall, not a bad store, but I have yet to meet a single person who looks as good in their clothes as their manequins do.

One of my favorite stores. They usually have cute clothes and the shirts and jeans are very good quality, but their skirts, the seams at the top always fall apart after washing them. They have great underwear and jewelry. At Express, it seems like they always have seasons where they have alot of cute clothes, and seasons where everything is boring and too corporate. But overall, it's a good store.

i've shopped there since it opened in most of the u.s. (1993), and for me to continue shopping there from high school through college and beyond says something about the quality of the product (or just about me, hey). their jeans don't fit me anymore, but their nicer work-type pants do, and i appreciate that. they're more or less in a price range that i can handle, and i appreciate that too. i also like their jewelry a lot.

Used to shop there a lot when I ws in high school and college in the 90's. Back then the clothes covered a bit more skin and were more tasteful. Now there's too many trashy outfits. Their jeans always fit me well, until I discovered CK, but they were not very well made. That's my big beef with this store overall- who cares how revealing or trendy the outfits are if they fall apart after a few months? Another place that's just gone downhill.

I GOT THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHIRTS, AND I AM CRAZY ABOUT THEM ALL AND I CAN'T WAIT TO WEAR 'EM!! WHEN ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CHARGES $40 FOR A SHIRT, EXPRESS MAY DO THE SAME......BUT THEIR CLOTHES ARE NICER AND MADE OUT OF BETTER MATERIAL, SO IT IS WAY WORTH IT!
