Only decent Chinese leaders: 1. Leung Kwok-hung (This guy kicks an unfathomable abount of ass!) *2. Sun Yat-sen 3. Emily Lau The rest of the bastards, like most American, Chinese, and Russian leaders of botht he past and the present, are more worthless than the sticky cream at the bottom of the empty coffee mug in front of me. * = The KMT in no way represents this guy's values in spite of what they may claim.

Jiang Zemin was the leader of China during the 1990's and the early part of this decade. There are positives and negatives to his rule. On the one hand, Jiang presided over a massive economic expansion of the country due in large part to his economic reforms opened up the country to business while also improving external relations with the rest of the world. Average GDP growth under Jiang measured at 8%. Although they still claimed to be communist, the system really drifted far from what Mao had envisioned. At the core of Jiang's theory of the three represents is that capitalists can join the ranks of the communist party. Their system, while it remain totalitarian, has many elements of neo-liberalism. China is going to be a great power within the next few years, development there has reached a fevered pitch and with a billion people they can go all the way. The Chinese are trying to prevent getting into a dependency trap with the US or other great powers. They want to be a player in th... Read more

Though no great supporter of democracy, this man has, indeed, moved his country forward and ended the colonial occupation of Macau and Hong Kong. He also opened the door for reform in China - which at times done at great personal risk.

I absolutely despise China's communist regime. They're unbelievably backward and have no regard for freedom of any sort, whether be personal, cultural, political etc. Those bastards attacked and invaded Tibet and are slowly ruining that country's culture and yet would like the entire world, including Tibetans, to believe that Tibet is and has always been a part of the "People's Republic" of China! People's Republic indeed! What's interesting is that the government has managed to brainwash the majority of the Chinese population notably students. University students in China approve of their government's policies regarding Taiwan and Tibet and believe China should lead the world! As much respect I have for Chinese culture and tradition, their world view stinks! China should not be allowed to host the 2008 Olympics because of humanitarian reasons. Their version of nationalism is simply appaling.
