This one is for applemac. Definatley dog the sports authority.(this is an old topic.)If you bought anything from there shame on you. Are you kidding? You think that guy that tuned your bike gives a shit about your big box bike? Cmon get real. He gets paid 8 bucks an hour to deal with f-cktards all day. All he wants to do is get off work and enjoy his day. And if you really took hours to tune your bike please punch yourself in the face and shut the f-ck up, as you are the perfect example of the asshats that want quality for cheap. Do some research. Doesn't happen for what you paid. The guy in the shop knows it. But you prolly didn't even talk to him did ya?

Just bought the orange 2006 DB Response from Sports Authority 4 days ago. The bike was taken into their shop to be tuned up - what a joke! I had to adjust both front and rear brakes along with both front and rear derailers. The tires were only at 20PSI. If that is not enough, EVERY fastener was loose which I feel is a safety issue. Of course I don't blame DB for this, but please take note and check your new bicycle front to rear. I had to sell my $2500 Specialized full suspension, hydraulic disc brake bike a couple years ago due to the expenses of my divorce. This bike doesn't come close to measuring up with my former bike. However with that said, I got this bike on clearance for $280 and it is no less than an incredible value. Unless you have put 100's of miles on a $2,000+ bicycle, you will absolutely be pleased with this bicycle. After a couple hours of tuning the bicycle and three long rides, I have to say I would have payed twice as much for it! All of this without without even t... Read more

I just bought an 06 Response and was (and still am) surprised at the amount of bike it gives you for the $300 dollar range. I spent twice as much on a Specialized in the late 90's and although it was (still is) a great bike, this Diamond Back makes me wish I would have switched years ago. Of course it isn't the fanciest, lightest, sturdiest, or est-anything, but for the price it will give you a nice sturdy bike that is fast, fun, and probably pretty durable. I have yet to take it through some nasty stuff, but it looks like it should hold up well.

I had a 2000 18" Response for five years. Extremely dependable and fun to ride. Mine was also stolen.

I got my alien green response just over 3 years ago and its been very dependable. I live in Toronto and it has proved to be a great city bike. Also its a very capable off roader. Down a hill I hit 84km/h and the bike was very stable, and when I reached the bottom of the hill, it stopped like a pro. I have taken my bike to many cities abroad, Paris, London, Prague, Munich, NYC, Montreal, even a long ride from Paris to Cannes. I now have clocked 4200km and still wearing the original Kenda tires! (but I really need to start looking for new tires) brake pads just got replaced. Its a quality bike without the big price. I have ridden bikes costing 4 times as much and I would say they are not that much better.

This bike is a great choice for someone looking to get into riding with mainly a casual approach to the sport. I mainly use mine to get back and forth from work (street) but had other ideas in mind too; some lite off-roading (dirt) with some hill work and a trail off the beaten track once in a while. The Diamondback Response answers the call with a strong frame, ease of shifting and a general all-around performance that fills all my needs. Actually alot of bike for the hard earned $$$ spent.

I've had this bike since summer of 2000 and it just got stolen from me :( but I loved it. I reccomend it. I never had a problem, it's sturdy and fun, but I'm moving on now and will be buying the Gary Fisher Mamba Monday.

I like the Diamondback bikes because they are comfortable, sturdy, and lightweight. They last for a long time too. Easy to ride, and smooth shifting gears are a plus. The Response is a good bike - I really like the feel and ride of this bike.

An okay bike. It's not that great of a mountain bike because the front axel came loose when I was riding it. I use it more as a street bike. It has a great shifting system, and the frame is definitely strong.

This is the bike I ride. I love the krome piping which is very strong, but the drawback is that it's heavy. This model came with LX\XT components which works very well. The shocks are decent, but could be upgraded. If I were to buy a new bike, I would definitely consider buying the new model of this bike.

Good bike, but again it costs too much. Maybe a $100 dollars less and then it would sell quickly. The name goes along with the quality. Smooth gears for smooth riding.

When I was first searching for a mountain bike, I discovered Diamondback. I discovered its excellent reputation and how well it is put together, and the smooth ride. The main hyberd style is what I really liked.

Very strong bike. I had one before, they're long lasting and very handy on the mountains. They look so good that mines got stolen.
