This pickup has been the top selling car in 2010 so far as we are heading into the 4th quarter of the year. Ford has made available several flexi-terms of payments for consumers. http://www.car-stuff.com/store/?D=ford+f150&Ntt=ford+f150& Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Main&Ntx=mode+m atchallpartial&N=4294962271&Nty=1

I own a 06 FX4 5.4 and the only complaint i can make about the truck is that the gas mileage sucks and because of the 4x4 the turning radius is not great which makes crowded parkinglots hard to park in. My AC went out but it was under warranty so no big deal. This thing is a trooper, i have thrown some offroad abuse at it and it keeps on starting for the next one. Love my truck.

I had a 1991 F-150. It had a short that cost me three batteries in five months, a fuel-pump selector switch that blew out, a front tank fuel pump that never worked, and an upper radiator hose neck that ripped off (bad place to use plastic!). Yet it was simple and solid (the doors closed with a nice bang), the wing-windows provided good ventilation, the oil filter was out in the open, and the 300 six/5-speed allowed me to pull at 35 MPH in fifth gear without lugging. I'd buy another one, but after a more careful inspection.

2004 F-150. 50K miles. New engine, new tansfer case, rebuild rear axle, ABS 4 times in for repair. Check engine light now on. Realigned front end at 10K. Bogus parts installed by large dealer. Quarter size patch of rust on side of box opposite side of sound deadening pad. FORD says too bad. Sorry you are having trouble. And all those Ford products in the driveway don't get me any loyalty points. Looks like time to buy an import. If you want a good F-150, search out a 88-90 model, put in a custom seat and enjoy the ride for 300K.

I own an 1985 Ford F-150 and it still runs and looks GREAT! By looking at it you would not belive that it is 24 years old. Still have yet to have a major problem with it. As far as the truck industry goes, you would be crazy not to buy an American brand. They are built to run and work forever.

There is no competition in the light truck market for the Ford F-150. When you get underneath and really look at the nuts and bolts, you know you are looking at a superior truck. There are some things that some people are not fond of, but these are mostly sacrifices for reliability, safety, and strength. Ask Mr Chevy if his fuel pump has a crash shut off feature and where the reset button is located. Ask Mr Tundra if he enjoys his new gas guzzler with a magic engine that should automaticly get 50mpg because it is from Tokyo, Texas. If they have a smarty pants answer, ask both of them to keep up with an f-150 on a bumpy dirt road. Wish them luck staying out of the ditch.

I have 2 F-150's. I use a 04 for my work and it has 200,000 miles and is doing great. I just got a new 09 FX4 and I cant believe the difference in the two trucks. Both have 5.4 and there is a much difference as daylight and dark in the running and the mileage. The 09 has the new 6 speed tram. and I can't even feel it shifting. The power is great for a pickup. I had heard that the new Tundra was the power truck to buy but I don't think so. Try to 09 F150 I think you will see what I mean.

I bought a 2000 Ford F150 XLT 5.4L Super cab new, and have no complaints. It has 115,000 miles, and besides regular maintenance I have only had to change the alternator. Most of the mileage on this truck has been pulling a small travel trailer; I have driven it coast to coast three times with no problems. Plenty of power, extremely dependable, and fun to drive.  “Built Ford Tough” is more than a slogan.

I have an 1998 F-150 SC XLT 4X4 4.6L Off Road with 274K on it. I was very annoyed with the cost of fixing the manifolds which Ford will not put a re-call on. I bought it used a few years ago and got a lot of hard core use out of it (pulling machinery trailers and Farm stuff). For the money I am extremely satisfied. Yes I had problems ($2800 over the last 160K) but it was so inexpensive as a used truck that I still feel that I got a great deal. The ride is spectacular and even now it feels very tight! Fuel economy rivals many full-size cars and mini-vans if you drive it near the speed limit. I have had 4 Toyotas before it and will buy another F-150.

I have been a GM man for a very long time, I recently thought it would be good to try a change. I had driven the 07' F-150 and it handels very well and the ride is fair. I purchased an FX4 4X4 off road pkg to equal the Z71 from Chevrolet. After 2000 miles I have BUYERS REMORSE! I normally put a great many aftermarket accessories on and I am having a very hard time finding even little things such as wind visors, bug shields etc..it's the small things that get to me as well like the poor gauges, no visor lighting, the limited tilt steering. The power fold mirrors were touted like a major advance in technology! I missed seeing the small stuff assuming it would be there and when I do find accessories they are much higher than previous years of F-150's. I thought about putting a blower to try and get a boost from the 5.4L that advertised 300hp?? After a drive to the dyno shop I almost put it back on the lot where I bought it. It only came up to 266. I am goig to have to try and pro chip it... Read more

I own a 2004 F150 FX4 (new body style), and it is my first Ford vehicle. The truck has been a tank through a few harsh Colorado winters and I haven't had one issue with reliability, although I'm only at 35,000 miles. The comfort level of this truck is tremendous (stiff frame with welded-through crossbars, outboard rear shocks and independent front suspension makes it handle much like a car), yet it has taken all of the offroading I have put it through. The 5.4L Triton pulls my 27' camper like a champ (it's no diesel, but it's got good torque), and there are many nice aftermarket products for this truck (programmers, CAI's, e-fans, drive by wire throttle bodies, exhausts, superchargers etc...). I'm looking forward to the rumored 379 cubic inch (6.2L) Ford Boss engine that might be in the '09 F150's. Oh, I read someone say that they thought the interior was cheesy and looked like it is 'snapped together'; well actually, nothing could be further from the truth. ... Read more

Well my opinon is take it however u want, i own a 97 F-150 4.6 automatic, 4x4 , had no problems with it rides great has good power, and im rough on vehicles, only problems are the exhaust manifolds on them the studs will rot out at about 120,000 miles other than that good truck overall.. if you get an edge programmer and cold air intake with a throttle body spacer they run great eat mustangs all day long..

I bought a F-150 new in 1997 and it's been a nightmare ever since.Five recalls from the company plus a load of other problems.Ford seems unable or unwilling to fix the problems.I have been a ford man since the early 60's and this is the first bad one I ever had.I traded a 1992 Dodge(loaded) in on it and that was the worst decision I ever made.I realize there are a lot of Ford fans out there and I apologize if I ruffled their feathers.I was a ford fan also but knowing that Ford is aware of these problems and is unwilling to help was enough. How would you like to have to shell out an extra $1000.oo a year for a new clutch every year?I'm told it's just the quality of the replacement parts. What a lot of BULL.

Bought a `99 F-150 4x4 supercab XLT with 34k miles on it in 2001. It was to be my wife's daily driver. Was in the shop several times. After some research, realized just how crappy these trucks really are! Ours had a bad cylinder head which is very common in the `98-`01 5.4 V8s, we also had the window frame crack, two bad MAF sensors, and a bad throttle-position sensor. Traded it in on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500...Total crap...Finally bought a Nissan Pathfinder and never had a single problem since.

The only Ford F150's i prefer are the boxy pre 1997 body styles with the 300ci straight or inline 6 cylinder engine. Im pretty stubborn when it comes to choosing an engine in a vehicle. I prefer something that has been made for years that lasts forever.

You Chevy guys crack me up. Don't get me wrong..I love chevy's..as long as it's a corvette or a camaro. Trucks are a different matter all together. I never feel like I am in a truck when I'm in a chevy.Especially older models....You can jack em'up,trick it out...put your 48 inch super sick swampers on it...whatever...and I bet you money if I drive behind it...it will smell like it's running rich. It as if it was trying to be something it's not. Have you seen the new Chevy trucks?...they look like something only my granpa would get exited about. But let's get real... when it comes to track record reliability, looks etc. Ford has always led the way. Anyone who complains about what a piece of crap their rig was, could of had the same problem with Dodge, chevy,Ford, porsche,Aston martin, Kia, Mercedes or Bently. SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK!

I have a 1992 F-150 4x4 with 149k on her and she still runs and drives every bit as good as the day she was built. (Still looks nice too!) In fact, just a few weeks ago I used this truck to pull 8'-12' trees out of my yard right by the roots. I Broke a 10,000 lb. tow strap in the process, had to buy a 17,000 lb strap to complete the job. Not bad for a 14 year old truck! Ford "F Series" trucks have been the best selling vehicle for the last 28 straight years for a reason. They are tough and are built to last a long... long time. Sold my last F-150 with 278,000 original miles on it (still ran like a champ). That truck spent it's life as a logging truck in northern Wisconsin. A life of punishment and the ford never skipped a beat. When you buy a Ford F-Series truck, you drive it intil you want to sell it, not until you have to sell it. If you want to drive it until it quits, I hope you're not in any hurry.

Having had the fortunate opportunity to be a professional test driver for both Ford Motor Company and General Motors, I have to give the F series by Ford one of the best trucks on the market today. The testing techniques of each company are so different, they can hardly be compared. The only company that tests as hard as Ford is Toyota. (awesome product in it's own) Take it from someone that knows, Ford makes one of the best pickups in the world.

Nothing to complain about. 1993 F1-50 straight six 300, gotta love it. Ford's been making that engine since the 70's and there are no kinks left to work out. Worked daily and has never let me down. My next truck will likely be another Ford.

2001 supercrew 2-wd lariat. Only 30K miles so far, but no problems. Been hit by morons twice, both little honda units...both destroyed (I mean totaled) My damage was mostly cosmetic. This is a vehicle that I will let my kids drive! Didn't really want a ford (ex windstar owner) but I'm guardedly optimistic, and see nothing here about class-action-type problems (which is the norm for other ford products) Typical suburbanite...haul loads of dirt, and gravel, crap to the dump; mine's only 2wd, but still pretty good in the mud.

Bought a 1999 new in Sept. of '98. Power window on driver's side was slow from the date of purchase, when it got cold we had to push it down while we held down on the button. Took it in for repair, still have the same problem. Door locks stopped working right after warranty ran out. Check engine light goes on and off. My dad is a mechanic and was able to get a reading from the computer that said it needs a new Oxygen sensor. Both 1st and 2nd gear burned up in the transmission. Apparently if you get stuck in snow or mud, you can not "rock" the vehichle out, because of the design of the transmission. The transmission fluid becomes unevenly distributed between the low gears and reverse, resulting in the burning up of the low gears. My father took out the transmission and had it rebuilt. It cost $900. He also put back in the transmission. Would have been around $2000 without his labor and connections. Also there is a defect with the gearshift. 2 year old pulled it out of gear while the key... Read more
