I have owned nothing but dodge trucks and after the one I have now I won't own another one. I have an 03 Ram 3500 and I have had nothing but problems with it. In the past 2 years I have spent around 6000.00 in repairs. Right now it won't start again. Im to the point of blowing it up. If anyone knows anything about how to work on these trucks please email me I could use the help. DONT BUY A DODGE !!!!!!!!!!

I am a service advisor for Ford and I drive a 06 3500. you couldn't pay me enough to buy a diesel from Ford, especially the new 6.4. You have to take the cab off for just about all repairs. I have over 100,000 miles on my cummins and I have it in the shop for the first time now for two fuel lines, no big deal

2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel. 6 SPEED MANUAL Great pulling truck! Transmission came out of it @ 78,000 miles. Has been in shop now for 5 weeks and Dodge can't seem to get transmission. Has to be ordered from Germany. SHAME ON YOU DODGE!!!!! Would never purchase another dodge since parts are not available.

Here's an update: @ 7500 miles Dodge replaced my short block. At 11,000 miles they relaced my automatic transmission. Since then no more troubles with the Dodge Ram 3500 w/ HO turbo diesel, 1 ton dually, double cab. I have since added a 5" turbo back pipe to a custom 5" in x dual 4" out muffler w/ 4" dual ex w/ turndowns, Mag-Hytec tranny & diff pans, Edge programmable chip, Timbren suspension snubbers, AFE air box kit, water wetter for diesels, HP-4003 oil filter w/ Filter-Mag magnet, gauges for pyro-trans & diff temps, Empi 96 plate tranny cooler w/ fan, Empi 4" 100 watt halogen driving lights in the bumper & full length 4" drop running boards. Since all that was done, I don't have any trouble pulling my 48' Store On Wheels trailer at full gcvwr. In hindsight, I guess I could have bought a semi to do the same thing, but I wouldn't be able to take a semi to the dumps with a load of trash!

I had a 2003 ford F350 4x4 6.0 Diesel and it was a powerjoke. Never again will I be taken for that kind of a ride from a Company that doesn't back it's product. Mechanical problems all the time. I took my business to Kellogg, Idaho and bought a new 2006 Dodge Diesel and I love it. The people at Dave White Motors were great to work with and they saved me $15,000 over anyone else. First thing I noticed was no glare from the sun off the dash and hood. 2nd, how well it handled for a 4x4. 3rd, I have to remind myself it is a one ton not a 3/4 as it rides so smooth. 4th, as I get used to it the controls are much more user friendly. 4th, the leather seats are muuuuch more comfortable than the Ford ever was. 5th, the megacab is big and the storage is great. I wrote ford about the problems I was havig with the 6.0 diesel truck and got no support from them at all and I am a 3rd generation family ford owner. FORD has lost me permenately. Chevy, GM, Dodge but no more fords for me. Cons? The... Read more

After reading some of the comments posted here, I can honestly say that I disagree with most of their assessemnts of the Dodge 3500. I've owned my 2003 CTD dually for just over two years and 42K miles and cannot find any areas to complain about. Before the Dodge, I had a chevy 1-ton dually with the gas-hog 454 engine. The difference between the Cummins and the chevy is night and day. I use my truck to tow both horses and our race teams trailer, not at the same time of course, and find it to be the best towing truck I've owned (Ford, Chevy and Dodge). I've driven coast to coast and border to border and found this truck to be not only the most comfortable long-distance hauler I've owned, but also the most powerful and best with fuel milege. The only minor complaint I have is the Goodyear tires it came with. They work fine, but have had some unusual wear characteristics. I never thought I would own a Dodge product, but I confess, its the best truck out there!

Like some other comments here, the dashboard on my truck suddenly cracked in two different places. I heard the pop and thought a rock had hit the windshield only to notice the splits after I stopped. And like the others, Dodge said it was not their problem even thogh the service manager at the local dealer said he had seen a few of those come in like that. It was no fault of mine and it is obviously a manufacture problem but I won't be getting any help from them. Maybe they should stop building them in Mexico and bring 'em back up to be built.

Cracked up dashboard not due to negelict. No help from Dodge on replacing it. They would not even pay half of the cost. They said there had been no problems with the dash, however, try to find one at a junk yard that doesn't have cracks. I traded my 1999 Dodge, I have bought about 7 dodge vehicles but I just bought a new Chevrolet 2500 HD disel. I would never buy another Dodge since they do not stand behind there products. By the way I am very happy with the Duramax Chevrolet.

Service after the sale is a BIG problem for any Chrysler product. My dash is all broke up on my 2000 Ram 2500 and Chrysler won't even talk to me about it anymore.

We have a 1999 Dodge 3500 and the dash has cracks all over it. It started cracking about 1 1/2 years ago, can not get Dodge to help replace it. We have been told by Dodge bodymen that this is a common problem

a very nice truck with a new edition. the hemi. The commercials are entertaining and the pulling power is excellent and the leg room is one of the best in its class.

Ive had a 3500 4x4 sice '95, bought brand new, and I just have to say that with a cummins diesel with almost 380,000 miles, it still has awesome power. Great truck for towing but not just around town driving, too stiff suspension with no load on it

I like Dodge vehicles, but like the Ram 3500 the best because it's a big sturdy truck.
