We bought a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner IV dishwasher (GU2475XTV) 8 months ago and I can't help but be more and more frustrated!! It's time to call in the Warranty although from the sounds of it, I'm not sure what they will do for me. Everyone keeps telling me, "you don't need to pre-wash/rinse your dishes". Well, you know what?! I have to! And even then, for the stuff that just gets thrown in by others in my family, I end up having to rinse it off and clean it when I unload the dishwasher. And forget the heated dry; don't know what's happening there but it's always full of condensation and I still need to wipe all my silverware and glassware with a dry dishcloth. If I run the dishwasher prior to leaving the house for a few days, there is bound to be something in the dishwasher with rust when I return. It just really sucks. We had to buy this one because of the dimensions and fitting it into an under the counter location; also it's so hard to find a rack layout that really wo... Read more

The Whirlpool Gold GU1500XTLB3 is a terrible dishwasher. It looks good, but it leaves grit on dishes regularly and takes a very long time to complete a cycle. If you choose one of the cycles, it leaves a haze on your glasses. I would not recommend this particular dishwasher to anyone, and I am at my limit for having to hand wishes just to get them clean enough for the dishwasher's heat to sterilize them. I did my consumer report research this time and have a new dishwasher on order.....it will be here in a few days! Although there are no broken parts on this machine, its extreme lack of performance makes me wonder if I should even offer it to anyone else.

We purchased all Whirlpool Gold Series appliances for our new house we built 3 years ago. The dishwasher GU3600XTSY1 was serviced in less than 6 months for water running out on floor. The service tech replaced the front air vent. Then after a year when the warranty was out, I started finding pieces of black hard rubber under the door of the dishwasher. Finally all of that has broken off completely and it seems to be part of the gasket inside the tub or door (there is black residue on the bottom of the door inside like it was attached there). Since that happened, after each cycle there is condensation all inside the dishwasher instead of it being dry (I use heated dry cycle). As for my microwave, I have the stainless steel accuwave, and as others stated the handle is painted and it chips off even just wiping with water (after just 6 months). Mine also has the rack inside and after 2 years, it started arcing when the rack is in there, like I have put metal in there. So I have to take th... Read more

We had a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III -- "WHAT DID YOU SAY?, THE DISHWASHER'S RUNNING!" This thing WAS such a disappointment, given its price and two-year life span. Yes, it completely died, but not before making an even louder, more horrible grating noise that sent everybody running for the hills. (Unlike the experiences of some other reviewers, this dishwasher actually did a good job of cleaning the dishes.) We bought the thing for our brand-new house. The kitchen is one of those that opens to the living room, so running our QUIET PARTNER when that room was occupied was never an option. When the hunk of junk died, it was replaced with a Bosch dishwasher, which amazingly cannot be heard at all -- (the Bosch has a little red light that shines on the floor to let you know it's running, and it cleans the dishes well). WHOA! What a difference! On an aside note, I saw a reference in this string to the Whirlpool Gold microwaves. The paint on our "stainless steel" (really plas... Read more

WHY CAN'T I GIVE IT A ZERO STAR? It won't let me I GIVE IT A ZERO! I bought this whirlpool Dishwasher replacing a dishwasher that was over 20 years old it still worked but it wasn't energy star and it looked old. I thought buying a new dishwasher thinking that they would have improved after 20 years but I was wrong! I had my dishwasher for 4 months and it doesn't work I washed the dishes 5 times even rinsed them off to almost clean but nothing they just got more dirty. I called the service center and they gave me a list of numbers to call Why do I have to call? All I got was voicemails for over a week and no return calls EVER! I looked a number up of people I know that sell Whirlpools and they told me it would take 10 days just to come out to look at it. I would NEVER EVER Buy this dishwasher again. I was so excited at first because it washed so well and then slowly over the 4 months it was BAD and now nothing just a smelly mess for over 3 weeks until someone can come look a... Read more

I had a Whirlpool dishwasher about $750 with electronic panel. Circuit board malfunction = $225 repair covered by warranty. Circuit board malfunctions again after one year on replacement. I pay $225 this time. Circuit board starts to go dizzy again 10 months later. I buy a Maytag, put the Whirlpool out for trash pickup. The Whirlpool Gold reefer, however, has no electronic panel (salesman said get the manual knobs because they never have a problem with them) and has not had one problem in over ten years. I guess electronics parts reliability is chancy, at least for Whirlpool.

I can't believe this dishwasher. We finally buy a house and redo the kitchen with brand new appliances. The first time ever for me. We pick out Whirlpool Gold series dishwasher and microwave. The microwave is stainless and apparantly painted silver/grey on the handle. It's chipped almost from day 1. It was such a pain in the ass heavy to install over my stove, that I figured it was working I'll deal the the paint chipping. My first dishwasher and I was so excited for the first 1.5 yrs. Now the motor is no longer whisper quiet and I fear its untimely death any moment now. I thought Whirlpool was rated a bit higher than some no name brand appliances. Do not waste your hard earned money on the dishwasher or the microwave! Thankfully my fridge/freezer is not a whirlpool brand and neither is my stove! My hubby wanted to go with all the same brand! Happy to have won that battle. I will never give a second glance to whirlpool!

I have nothing but praise for Whirlpool...I have the dishwasher, refer, and stove...all work beautifully....much better than the GE Profile they replaced after 5-6 years... The dishwasher specifically is efficent, quiet and the Seri-cycle is awesome! Cleans perfectly and is fast too. The refrigerator I got the model # GS 6 ***** is probably the finest I have ever had the pleasure to own. I've had no use for service so I can't comment. I will say that customer service when I asked a few questions about instalation were great!... And I do know that JD Powers and several other surveys rate Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid as the least repaired in the business...I did extensive online research before buying.

We upgraded our new home purchase with the Whirlpool gold series 3yesrs ago and have had nothing but problems! The microwave quite working while itwas under warranty and had to be replaced by the builder. The ice maker has quite working on the refrigerator . Worst of all, has been the dishwasher. It quite working properly when of was 1 1/2 years old. I have had the repairman out 3 times. They have replaced the motherboard, the heating element (all out of warranty) and it is still not cleaning. Im sick of it and I am pulling it out this week to be replaced by another dishwasher. I do not know what brand yet, but I can assure you it will not be whirlpool.

I have all matching Whirlpool Gold appliances in my kitchen (range, over-range microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator) and they have been great. My range is a glass top electric with a convection oven, my microwave is their top of the line with the speed cook option, my dishwasher has the "power scour" option, and my fridge is a french-door style. Really, my favorite appliance is the dishwasher, the power scour option is great for skillets and pans. The range works really well and is easy to clean and the microwave is a microwave and gets the job done. Everything looks and works great.

hmmm, funny that I've owned Whirlpool for the 22 years of my marriage, in 4 houses with all of the appliances and have had none of the problems that I'm reading about. We did have to replace a computer part in the front loading clothes washer after 2 years of use for 6 people, but didn't think that it was unreasonable. I'm sure with advanced machines and more computerized parts, customers may experience more problems, but we've been happy with both price and service.

Wow, I'm sorry so many have had a problem with the Whirlpool Gold dishwasher. I'm single, and stack the dishes in there for a few days at a time, and the food can be pretty dried on by the time I turn it on for a cycle, and rarely does anything come out that isn't nice and clean. Now I haven't tried all cycles, but it is quiet, and while I know the cycles can be somewhat long, they aren't long enough to be bothersome. It works, and in 4 years, I haven't had any service calls on it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

If I could give this dishwasher a 0 rating, I would, because that is what it deserves. My glasses are never clean, always spotty and particles stuck to them even with rinse aids. My dishes and plates are never clean without pre-washing! What is the point of this dishwasher if I must wash before and sometimes after. I too picked this dishwasher for a new home being built thinking it would be a quality product. Boy was I wrong. I have the entire Gold series in my kitchen and am pleased with the others. But I would like to take a sledgehammer to the dishwasher. Save your money...DO NOT BUY!

WHIRLPOOL NOW, "WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK" We replaced our 12 year old Whirlpool dishwasher with a new Whirlpool to match our other kitchen appliances just 1 1/2 years ago... big mistake This new dishwasher is very noisy, does not clean the dishes, does not dry the dishes and is just a piece of junk, we have had warranty repair at least 4 times and we are just tired of the hassle with Whirlpool about service.. and now this morning we have a machine full of dirty dishes as it has decided to quit all together. We will be replacing this machine today and not with a Whirlpool product... "DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHER THEY ARE NOTHING BUT JUNK" RAYW

Complete Junk thats what Whirlpool Dishwashers are.The Dishwasher was in the house for only a month and had to have the Soap Dispenser replaced, and then the water valve went on it . And after that the Main circuit board had to be replaced, all within a 2 month period, lucky it was all covered under Warranty,. Now its a year and a half since the warranty ended and it died half way through a load.not only that but the control pannal is falling off, when i took it apart to investigate why! I was shocked to discover that the screws that hold it together are screwed into thin cheap self tapping plastic posts that were all breaking or cracking. We paid over $1000 for this substandard piece of Junk. It will be a happy day for me when i hear that Whirlpool went out of buissness.

Poor. From the design to the performance, this dishwasher is the worst. After the first year or so, we had the motor replaced - thank goodness it was covered under warranty. We had a repairman in to fix it this past Tuesday and tonight there's another issue - the dishwasher is leaking from the motor and water has flowed underneath our hardwood floors causing gradual buckling. We're now in the market for a new dishwasher and Whirlpool will not be an option.

It seems that this model it VERY prone to hardwater and refuses to clean ANYTHING! Although I have solved my problem (for now) I will never buy another Whirlpool DW. I could have bought 2 Frigidaire ones that have ALWAYS cleaned great for the price of this one. My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2 years old and I started having the same problems. I dismantled everything I could and washed and scrubbed the entire unit with EVERYTHING..to no avail, dirty dishes!! But I discovered a remedy! Try using Lemi-Shine for about a week with your regular wash-soap. If you are using the tablet form of soap, stop and try the powdered form. Follow the instructions on the Lemi-Shine container. You can find it just about anywhere for around $3.50. I was within "5 seconds" of replacing my 2 year old Whirlpool dishwasher when this caught my eye and I figured why not try it too? After the first wash I noticed a big difference the cleanliness of the dishes..and now it is running GREAT after 2 weeks!

This has to be one of the worst dishwashers I have ever owned. I have had several dishwashers over the years, some expensive, some cheap - but even the cheapest cleaned dishes better than our Whirlpool Gold. Our dishwasher is a "Quiet Partner IV" series. Though the washer is surrounded with thicker than normal padding, by the dish washing results, I think it's safe to say the water pressure (or lack thereof) is also used to create a "quiet" wash. Almost without fail, a handful of dishes will need to be hand washed to remove small particle residue left on the dish. The silverware basket latches NEVER remains shut. The dishes are almost NEVER dry. I would highly recommend avoiding this dishwasher. Be sure to check other dishwashers manufactured by Whirlpool, sold under different brand names. There's only a few manufactures making the variety of dishwashers available...

We chose this dishwasher when we built our home and thought we were getting a quality appliance, but in less than 3 years, it is falling apart. On top of that it has mold growing in it. A cycle that says it will be done in 96 minutes, takes over 2 hours. This has been the worst dishwasher I have ever had. I will be NOT be buying another Whirlpool.

Just bought this aishwasher a year ago and hate it. My wife like the three spay nozzels in the interior... but I hate the Anyware silverware rack. Almost 3-4 out of 5 times that I unload this unit the silverware is all over the floor as it will not latch properly. It is very fristrating to load as they have made the racks different than any dishwasher I have ever had... There is one positive... I hate using this unit so much I tell my daughter and wife, you do it or it don't get done... It does clean great once you have it loaded...

I have had my stainless steel Whirlpool gold dishwasher for about 3 years. I have given up dealing with whirlpool. They say there is nothing wrong with it. The only problem is that it does not wash dishes. I am now going to remove it and take it to the dump. Never to buy another whirlpool product again. It is also very obvious that I will let everyone I know about whirlpool's poor product and extremly poor customer service. It probably would have been a better idea for them to replace it.

Nothing but trouble since purchased in Nov.01, Whirlpool won't refund or replace. Just throws parts at it.Will not let you speak to a supervisor or management. Won't return phone calls. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and recommend you don't either!!
