AT&T Wireless is horrible in so many ways-wireless service, customer service, technology, coverage, etc. I travel in the Cincinnati, Ohio area for business (pharmaceutical rep) and their 3G service here is really bad. You can’t make a phone call that is actually clear-you always hear static, interference and crackling in the line. About half of my calls are always dropped no matter where I am in the city or what time of the day it is, coverage is spotty in many areas, there are many times I don’t receive voice or text messages for several hours, and the 3G network is constantly going down. Heck, sometimes, my phone won't even ring when someone tries to call me and I have full reception! AT&T's 3G network is very unreliable. Calling customer service is a waste of time, and they never fix or report the problems to technical support. Avoid them at all costs, you will have nothing but problems. It's very obvious AT&T Wireless does not care about its customers or fixing their network problems.

I worked here for 6 years. I saw a few things! But first, I find it strange that so many people complaining about horrible cell service would log in as "cell phone guy" or "hometown cell phone". Seem like plants to me! I don't call myself "OcalaHotRod' when I drive a busted Sunbird, just sayin.

Anyway, the job sucks. Everytime a new call comes in your headset beeps irritatingly, and usually its someone with a problem resulting from a known issue or they've driven their car into a metal barn, the other group of calls you get are from people that do not understand their bill or plan and have a mailbox full of pain in the form of a 120 page bill for 10,000.00.

One woman who I worked with for 5 years would make up her own rules on every call, credit whatever it took to make the person happy, and go on to the next caller. She apparently believed that magic elves would fix what ever was wrong with the billing, even if it really boiled down to the customer thinking he was ok to roam in puerto rico, when he definitely couldn't. She was finally fired based on her statistics. You see, it's not against the rules to be completely incompetent at AT&T.

Another guy who lasted four years used to fall asleep on the phone, pretend he was listening to the customers problems, and when his time was running long, he would offer a completely unrelated amount of credit, and hope that it worked. Usually he would get yelled at for not listening. "How does 25.00 off fix my broken phone, you idiot!" I heard once, blasting from his headset. Same guy couldn't get his DSL working and had a tech on the phone who was just as much the whack-off that he was. I literally witnessed karma happening. This guy eventually got fired because he took too many days off without calling in. Again, incompetence isn't punished at AT&T.

One of the managers who was promoted based on statistics that she cheated to achieve, based on phone manipulation, used to actually masturbate at her desk and sexually harass men all day. Let me back up and explain that the 'phone manipulation' was not a 'Lecter-esque' technical feat, it was a matter of transferring your customers to random departments, (including your own again!) and the transfer wouldn't show up on your report because you hit the 'conference' button to complete the transfer, instead of 'transfer'. Basically this piece of crap was a manager because our IT guys were IDIOTS TOO!

All of our upper managers were racist against whites, especially white men, and I used to delight in escalating calls from actual racist hillbillies to them, the rare times that they would call in.

All this said, and usually it was the customer who was the bigger moron in any exchange. This was compounded by the complete incompetence at the store level, pushing the customers to call in with issues that can only be resolved at the store!

I recommend it as a summer job, but don't try to stick it out.

My guess would be that if people didn't want the IPhone so bad they would be in trouble. Their coverage is horrible at best and from what a few people have told me their plans aren't so good either.

I would rate AT&T zero stars if I could. The service at this company is horrible at best-customer service and wireless service. Especially in major cities. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have a new Nokia 3G phone. I have had problems with it from the start. After numerous calls to tech support, I am still getting a lot of dropped calls everyday, a lot of picture, text, and voice messages that don't come through to me, very slow internet, poor voice quality where there is echoing, fading, and static on the line, and poor reception. I've called and called customer/tech support and they always say there are no problems in my area. No problems?? I guess they consider all of these things normal happenings on their network. I'm tired of paying 100+ dollars a month for this kind of poor service. They obviously don't care about customers and refuse to fix the 3G problems in the Cincinnati area. A few of my friends have AT&T Wireless and they are having these problems here too. Whatever you do, do not go with this company as your wireless provider. You will have a ton of problems that AT&T refuses to fix. Go with Verizon, you will be a lot happier and have no problems.

I do not write long reviews because they take up too much time. However, I have an issue here, and you all should know about it. I had been with AT&T Wireless for a few years. A few years too many that was! My first issue was when I was upgrading my plan to include a wider unlimited calling plan. I asked the representative about how the minutes were used, and if I called during their nights and weekends minutes, would it use up my limited minutes, or my unlimited. She told me that it would be unlimited because the other number was a mobile to mobile number(which it was). I got excited and told her to go ahead and upgrade my plan(which forced another 2 years on my contract). When I received my first bill, I noticed I went over my minutes. Then I realized that she had told me wrong information. The M2M calls DID use up my minutes. I immediately called ATT(first I was placed on hold forever). Then, someone took the call. After I had explained the situation, he told me, (QUOTING HERE[upset gasping face]), "I don't know why she told you that, but there's nothing we can do." Now, just so you know. I'm not the type to get mad and start yelling or cussing. Getting mad at phone people is as useful as a floppy disk are in this generation. But anyway, he refused to do anything for me. So I asked for his supervisor and he just kept arguing with me and kept avoiding the supervisor. I was getting upset, so I just gave up and hung up. The next, and final(oh no i was NOT about to let AT&T keep taking my money like this), issue was much later on when I wanted to upgrade my phone. The phone I wanted had a known problem with the circuit board not charging after a while(remember kids, nothing good comes from not doing your homework), which of course, they were still selling(and for a LONG time even way after I left ATT). After about a year with that phone, my phone TOO stopped charging, so I sent an email to customer service. They replied back telling me that I have to visit the local ATT store. So I drove down to one near my house and they told me that I have to call an 800 # because they don't have that charger at the stores anymore. So I drive away and when I get home, I call the number. WHY was it an "automated no-way-to-talk-to-a-living-creature" message telling me to use their website or call att's main customer service number? I was really getting upset with them. So then, I email them again..."were sorry you have to call this 800 number again" So I call the number.. "you MUST go in the store" (this is the point where I realized how paying $200 to get away from a contract can be a good thing). I now do business with a cell phone company that is treating me with respect and dignity that I ask for. AND I no longer have NEARLY as many dropped calls. Yup, you read that right.. they lie on TV. AND last but not least, after I'm feeling good that I got away, here comes a bill in the mail from AT&T TRYING to charge me ten CENTS for a text message that i sent even though i was paying monthly for texts, not individually. So I decided that if they want to keep spending about $1.00 billing me for a ten cent text, so be it. :-) 3 bills later, I never received one ever again! And i NEVER WILL!

AT&T is the worst wireless provider around. Where do I begin? I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and am on my third new 3G phone. I'm STILL having a lot of problems with dropped calls, poor voice quality with crackling and static, missed text and voice messages, network busy messages, unreliable 3G

Summary: AT&T Wireless does not care about it's customers at all. Obviously, I'm not the only one who feels this way. I have called customer and tech support at least 3 times each and have gotten nowhere. They always submit a "trouble ticket" but yet nothing is ever fixed. It's either that or they blame my phone for the problems. They just don't want to spend any money or care enough to help you or to upgrade their crappy 3G network. I have a ton of dropped calls everyday, terrible voice quality where there is crackling and static in the line when I make a call, network busy messages, text, voice, and picture messages that I don't receive for hours, if at all, and poor reception. A lot of times calls won't even connect and I hear dead air space. There are numerous AT&T dead zones throughout the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I can't stress enough, do not go with AT&T Wireless. You will have a ton of problems and will get nowhere with customer service. I am so fed up that I'm contacting the Ohio Public Utilities Commission and the Better Business Bureau to get something resolved. My contract doesn't end until October of this year, but I will be more than happy to pay their early termination fee to get better wireless service.

I don't appreciate being lied to, we called last May 2009 to end our contract with AT&T, they quickly transferred our call to the Retention Dept where they made us a great deal, well as you can tell. AT&T NEVER honored any of the deals that were made! After a number of complaints and phone calls, my girlfriend was offered $200 credit to fix this.. NOT GOOD ENOUGH>

Our monthly bill should only be $100 as one of the AT&T reps told us, then we get bills that all $180 a month. This has been 8 months now and well, lets do the math on this one..$80 X 10= $800...so wow, really! $200 to settle this.. I don't think so.

Anyone else out there who has been lied to and sign a new 2 year contract? lets all get together and file a class action against AT&T for Deceptive practices and make them honor the deals that they offered us!

I have a contract with at&t and that makes me sad. Not only is the service at the stores rude, but the phones wear out rather quickly, mine LG Neon is less than a year old and on it's way to being useless. I went to Europe last year and the coverage was total crap. I ended up having to get a T-Mobile prepaid phone just to be able to make emergency calls and send out text messages. When my contract is up, so is my time with at&t.

[email protected] was having a massive problem with broadband customers for its supported IPHONE in Manhattan, naturally an Upton Sinclair Jungle anyway when my mother died in her sleep in her apartment on the Upper West Side. She was 95 and fought her way through the Holocaust to Paris and took the big boat to Ellis Island with $80 and a bag of grapefruits as her only possession. As executor to her estate, I felt that it was my initial obligation to simply have AT&T disconnect her phone to prevent misuse as a live line unsupervised in an empty apartment. After 3 days of fencing with e-mails to AT&T customer service and hanging on the phone for so long that I would have to hang up so that I could continue the grieving process with my family there is nothing I can accomplish with the platitude corporate speak I received, the forwarding to other departments and finally receiving a long convoluted email that finalized in a wrong number to call. This is America in the post 911 Electronic Age. Both citizens and Corporations are so laden with the anxiety and emptiness's of a crippled economy and global threat coupled with leadership we do not believe in that the unthinkable thing happens. A woman who was born in World War I dies in her bed after showing the most courage and determination to succeed in a great country and the outcome is that her son at 58 is unable to disconnect her phone because of what it is in 2010.

I have had a good experience with at&t customer service. It's not that I am happy with at&t in general, but the service provided today by the representative has been very satisfying.

I subscribed, by mistake, to a stupid service from a 3rd company (Amazing Facts) that once in a while sends messages to my phone about amazing facts.

I have found out about the subscription this morning, when I received the monthly bill. They have charged $10 to my account without my consent. I have called at&t customer service, and in 10 minutes the subscription has been removed and they will credit my account with the $10 they charged.

I am in California, and because my first language is Spanish I opted for a Spanish speaker representative (In case I have to argue, I feel more comfortable doing so in Spanish). The representative was placed in Monterrey, Mexico and she was very friendly, diligent and effective.

As a funny side note, the call with the representative "surprisingly" dropped in the middle of the conversation. After 2 minutes they called me back and we were able to fix the issue I called for.

AT&T wireless is awful and getting worse. You can say what you want about all the iPhones eating up the bandwidth, but its simply not true at 3am to 6am when I do a great deal of my calling (I work at night). When driving, the dead spots are the same as during peak time, both with my iPhone and my friends flip phone. There is an entire swath of lower Manhattan where AT&T has little or no service, and if you stand on 17th street a few feet from the AT&T store on the corner of 6th Avenue you'll find NO SERVICE there - standing outside of their store!

I was trying to console a friend who called me during my drive home, something very bad had happened, and in a six mile drive the call dropped 12 times - TWELVE TIMES AT 5AM. This destroyed the last of my patience with AT&T and I'm deciding which company to move to. Probably Verizon, they have the best service. I love the iPhone but I just can't continue giving AT&T $120+ a month for their degrading service.

As if this isn't bad enough, AT&T's MANDATORY internet barely works on a good day, and generally freezes even with full bars.

Tomorrow I'm writing Apple. If Steve Jobs can lord over his employees he should have some clout with AT&T. He should open the iPhone to other carriers before AT&T hurts his business anymore.

I think At&T Wireless has very good service. I had them for a three months now,and I get reception in my house as well in the building I work in. I live in Chicago and I think they coverage is solid here. I cant say for other states and that being the reason I dont travel often. But if I ever do get the chance to travel to another state I will be giving and update to let everyone know my experience. I had Verizon Wireless and I couldnt get reception in some places and they phones and service was terrible! Like when I made a couple of calls I got echos in the background had to stop my conversation and turn off my phone and turn it back on and that part was pissing me off! With AT & T I dont have that problem, I love they roll over minute plan because im true chatter box and those unused minutes really comes in handy, and they just keep adding up! and oh far as dropped calls I havent experienced any as of yet. Customer Service I really cant say anything bad about them that is because I havent had to call them with any issues. I see other people complaints that are bad on here but maybe because im a new customer, or im just lucky right now at this moment. Maybe in the near future I may have complaints and then again maybe I wont who knows time will tell.

AT&T MAKES ME WANT TO SHOOT MY SELF IN THE HEAD IT SOUNDs BAD BUT THE COMPANY TRULY SUCKS BIG **** The plans suck in my eyes I joined the service when it was cingular and it was by far way better. With way better service plans that let you customize the way you talk now with at&terrible I get to choose from a plan with 450 min for $50 something or the next plan above that which is $70 something for 900 min Thoes choices suck. When it was cingular you could have 700 min with text and pic message for $55. The whole company sucks in general bad customer services, bad services plans, bad insuranse plans. I mean come on you pay an extra $6 a month for insurance, use your phone for a whole year need a replacement and they want to charge you an additional $50 and they make you keep the same style phone you orginaly got, no switching phones for the newest modle they give you back your new outdated old A** version phone that looks like a F****** brick. I have 3 word for AT&T SUCK MY D***. Don't be like me and become a fool and get tricked into their fancy phones the company sucks!!!!!!

I had this service for less than six months. You could barely use the phone anywhere because it wouldn't connect. The fees were ridiculously high for the level and quality of service provided. And when you called customer service to seek redress, they were arrogant and disrespectful. I threw my phone in the garbage pail and had an attorney friend of mine write a letter indicating that I was going to bring suit to regain the fees I had already paid. This immediately got me out of my contract with them. No wonder. Total crap on all counts.

I must say I have enjoyed my Cingular Wireless service since 2005. I first signed up for services while living in Louisiana and had great reception and very few dropped calls in that area. The representative that assisted with the setup of my new services was full of information and quite helpful, not to mention upfront about expected costs.
I expected troubles when I recently moved to Kansas and chose to keep one of the lines a Louisiana number.
However, I have not had any issues with my services or experienced many dropped calls with any parts of my service..
I've also been lucky not to have many reasons to call in and speak with a representative, so the few times I have, I have had good experiences.

For the past year before Cingular became At&t; Ive had pick your plan. Went with it for the no contract after being screwed and over charged with sprint. And here in Vegas I have had absolutely no problems with this phone, reception or cs. and has been fine when Ive went out of town to L.A. Only thing that would make this better for me is if they started to make plans that included text messages because I dont like having to pay $20 a mo. for unlimited text.  They change that itd be perfect to me.

In the defense of Customer Service people for cingular, I agree it is a terrible place to work for but this is what I learned for the whole 8 weeks I was with them... give the customer what they want but dont give them anything. If they want a refund for anything make them think you are doing them a favor but dont give them one. It was like running around in circles! I tried to be a good customer service rep but it is hard when you have stuff like this hanging over your head... just food for thought next time you have to call Customer Service.

Austin, Texas--in town: Disastrous reception. Call may be good, then drops. I can stand in the same place without moving in my front or back yard, which I've had to go to to try to get reception, and the call will just fade out. Either I or the person on the other end cannot hear. Then the reception may come back a little in that spot. Finally I had to go to my landline to talk. I have to tell every person that the call may drop, which happens commonly. I've also had this horrible reception in San Jose. When I lived in Dallas and San Diego (technology downturn relocations) and before being bought by AT&T; (related?), the receiption was fine. The reception was so bad in SJ that I could stand in the hallway and walk two steps into a spare bedroom, and the call would drop.

I also went through the same thing that someone else did. I went through three replacement Nokias (that was the only brand that would work at all for some reason in SJ) that I learned were garbage refurbished phones. I had not known that all replacement phones are refurbished. Then I was offered a replacement phone: Samsung Sync, which I had to pay for at the contract renewal price, and even though I was told that I did not have to renew my contract, the employee at the counter said it would be too difficult for him to process the phone unless I renewed. Then I had disastrous service. So they let me get another phone. I went back to trying the Nokia brand, now that they have different models--same disastrous coverage and virtually unuseable service. So now calls have dropped with Cingular customer service and the call quality was so bad that they offered another phone. What to try? Who to get if I get up on AT&T.; Oh, and I also was told--just before the call dropped, that the fine print in the contract states that cell phone coverage is not a condition of the contract. It is not guaranteed. If I cancel--unless I try screaming like a maniac to manager and see what that gets, I pay a $175 charge for ditching them. After I go through another phone and am not able to talk, I will bite the bullet. I cannot believe that in a town that's existed for a bunch of years, I cannot talk on the phone anywhere in my house or front or back yard. AT&T;/Cingular Wireless: crummy, crummy, crummy.

I wish I had known earlier that the service was so bad compared to my current carrier T-Mobil. After cancelling my account 5 months ago, they would never send me a final itemized bill. Despite being told by reps & supervisors that the problem was fixed, & late fees, etc. would be waived, got turned over to collections. At this point, cust. serv. became rude, telling me that I had lied about not receiving the bills and told me that to pull my acct. from collections, I would have to pay them an extra 18% on top of what I owed. Said that there was no one else I could speak to about the issue, & can't get an address to mail complaints ANYWHERE. What a way to treat a 5-year customer.

I have mixed feelings about Cingular.  The reception you get depends entirely upon your geographical area.  When I lived in Denver, I got reception everywhere.  I seldom dropped a call and my phone would work way out in the mountains, which was a plus.  I never had any complaints about the service except that they would routinely send me text message advertisements.  All in all, I was happy with Cingular when I lived in Colorado.  All that changed when I moved to New Mexico.  I got service inside the Albuquerque area but 10 miles outside of town I would start dropping calls and getting poor reception.  I put up with these inconvienences but resolved to drop Cingular when my contract was up.  Then came the day when my phone got shut off.  I logged onto Cingular's website and noted two things:  First, my bill was paid.  Second, my phone was marked as disabled.  So, I opened a chat window with a friendly customer service representative and asked why my funded account was suspended.  They advised me to call the toll free customer service number since they could be of no help to me unless I wanted to buy a phone.  This was an issue.  I lived in a very rural area at the time.  The nearest phone I had access to was at a gas station 35 miles away.  Upon reaching Customer Service, They informed me that they "didn't really know" why my service was discontinued since my account was fully funded.  They did offer to waive the $35 reconnect charge though.  How nice.  I'm so happy that they chose to waive the fee that was generated by their screw up.  I was a little peeved (read: unbelievably pissed off) that they couldn't give me a reason for the service suspension so I asked to talk to a manager.  The manager told me a long story about how my phone had sent a "404 signal" to headquarters.  Of course, I had no idea what a 404 signal was.  I'm not alone, though, the manager didn't know either so he connected me with tech support.  Tech support let me know that the RAZR phone I didn't ever own was reported stolen and therefore my service was cut off.  The only problem with this scenario was that I am still using the same cell phone I owned in 1995.  It has never broke so I have never replaced it.  It isn't so much a RAZR as a BRIK.  I chose then and there to cancel my service.  I dislike being called a thief and I dislike not having access to a service that I pay for.  I paid them the $150.00 go away fee and switched to Vonage.  Now I have good reception, decent customer service, and an extra $50.00 in my pocket every month.  I couldn't be happier.
A side note about "Nationwide Coverage":   I recently went on a fishing trip to Maine.  We drove to where the pavement ended and then drove another couple hours.  This camp was in the middle of nowhere.  None of my fishing buddies had cell service so we figured that we were just too far away from a tower.  About 3 days into the trip, a few of us drove to the nearest town to restock on booze, ice, bug spray, etc.  There was no cell service in town so we asked the girl at the gas station where a phone was so we could call out.  She handed my buddy her Cingular phone and explained that since the tower was 2 miles away she got great service.  My buddy looked at his Cingular phone with the "No Signal" message flashing and made a call to customer service.  They explained to him that while the coverage was indeed nationwide, his phone was not programmed to receive transmissions from towers they didn't expect him to ever use.  That's why he got zero service in a town where everybody local had a Cingular phone.  I guess "Nationwide Coverage" and "Nationwide Functionality" are different things.

Singular has a very poor customer service. My daughter bought a Bluetooth for my birthday. She paid $99.99. Just happened that I went by there a couple days later and the same Bluetooth was $69.99. Ill try to speak to them now for over 4 weeks and get the run-a-round big. The Manager of the store walks around like the big boss with no authority and creates each time I come in the store another story. The sales person who sold my daughter the equipment created one lie after another a lie. First she said, when I told her I was here last Sunday that the Bluetooth just went on sale this Sunday. I told her that it the $69.99 price tag is there since shortly after April 15. I told her she should stop creating stories that dont match and admit that she over charged my daughter by $30. Make long story short I canceled ALL (5) phones and switched to T-Mobile. I have excellent customer service, wonderful reliable phones and a store people dont try to take advantage of young people by cheating them out of allowance money. Singular sucks and I will tell that to everyone who is listening! What a poor pathetic business practice just to make a few bucks. Singular Corporation you should be ashamed of your poor service for what there is no excuse whatsoever.

I am on phone #7 in less than a year. Not because I damaged the phone, but because they sold me defective merchandise every time. The warranty department is a joke. They never give you new equipment - just someone else's recycled trash that has been cleaned up and repackaged as new. The same goes for insured phones - what a scam! They charge you high $$$ for a used defective phone.

After I had gone through so many unusable phones, they finally agreed to give me what they call an "exceptional upgrade". This means that I was able to go into their store and pick out a new phone. My new phone works, but guess what - I had to pay full price for it and renew my 2 year contract, just as if I were a new customer. It doesn't matter that I already paid full price for a new phone and service that I was unable to use for almost a year. I was treated very poorly and they acted as if they were doing me a huge favor!

As far a rebates - I never got mine from my phone that was purchased last year. Some excuse about invalid receipt. I sent in another one and never heard back from them. I spoke to several others who also never got their rebate check from Cingular

Cingular Wireless??? What a BIG FAT JOKE they have become. I was a cingular customer for 3 years the first year was good... After that it seems like they program their phone to shoot the CRAP.. Service at my house sucks everywhere, I can also drive down the middle of town and just all of a sudden every bar I have is gone. They say the Fewest Dropped Calls, I think It should be the MOST dropped calls... They Customer Service people are RUDE and act like your stupid... Compared to alot of other companies there Plans are very HIGH priced.... They Charged me $150.00 extra bucks for what they say was text message charges.. We have to phones on the plan with 3000 Text Messages per line,(which by the was cost $39.99 per line RIP OFF) line 1 used 887 text messages and line 2 used 1124 text messages... Dont know where in their RIGHT mind they say I used extra text messages... I also had me Moto Slv phone covered on insurance when I called to get a new phone cause of a cracked screen they told me my phone had no insurance and I would have to buy a new one for around $300.00 but I was bein charged for insurance on both phone. We terminated our contract with them early and went with Verizon and so far we are very pleased.. Phones work good I can actually talk on the phone at home and drive down the road and have service. The only complaint I have about Verizon so far is that it seems like there is a couple min delay in text messages be sent and coming in (with Verizon we go 5000 text message and unlimited moblie to moblie text message for $20.00 Per Line)... But my Review and Ratings for Cingular is VERY SUCKY COMPANY and !!!!

Cingular has ridiculous sales practices, pushing there people to sell phones. Their sale people insisted that a new phone was required in order for my daughter to upgrade her call plan, then failed to even upgrade the plan at all. Then, of course, they wanted to charge the cancellation fee when she wanted to cancel the plan because they had not upgraded. They spent lots of money to fight for the $150 cancellation fee from their "office of the president" collections group rather than just admit they had screwed up and keep a good customer. They lost my business permanently, all the business of my family and I've also ensured that all my employees know about their illegal practices.

This service was impossible to use. Everytime I placed a call it was dropped. I got this phone for emergencies and wasn't even able to use it when I needed to. You're better off without a cell phone.

Most dropped calls - never made a call lasting over 10 minutes that did not require at least 1 redial. Worst customer service - Least knowledgable/competent employees. "It sucks" would be a complement. Spotty coverage area - very poor quality sound if it does connect. Can't wait for my contract to be over!

I am fed up with this company. I have been a loyal customer for well over 5 years now.

This past month I have been getting one dropped call after another. You would think that with their take over of AT&T; that the coverage would be better. It is not only a waste of my time and money but the person that I call's time and money as well.

When I called to complain about this, I was transferred to a total of 3 'techs' before I finally hung up out of frustration. Each time the stupid Tech would ask me the same questions in which they either try to place the blame on you (I have a new phone, new sim card) or they 'can't find' any outages in the area. In the end they made me feel like an ass, with their down talk and disrepect.

If it's not the dropped calls, its also another thing.

Every month I find something new that they're billing me for. It's a good thing I actually look at my bill because they would have swindled me out of a few hundred dollars, last month alone!

So now I'm doing my research and am looking forward to terminating my contract with Cingular. I am very disappointed in their service, as well as their customer service.

I first tried Cingular back in 1999 (still known as
PacBell Wireless). Their customer service was
average but their reception was horrendous!!
I was constantly losing calls due to "holes" in their coverage areas. A year ago I tried them again. Same problems!!! Crappy signal quality.
I even lost a call that I was making to their
Customer Service Dept.!
When I called them about their poor signal quality, they claimed that it was because I was
"in a rural area". During a trip to Los Angeles area, I had the phone and kept losing calls there too. So I called and asked them why this would be. Their excuse was that I was in a metropolitan area and too many buildings blocked the signals.
Ok, if their service doesn't work in a rural area and it doesn't work in a metropolitan area, there's not too many other choices...
Let's face, their service doesn't work.
Maybe they should stop making excuses and
start improving their signal quality.

We just switched from Cingular Wireless to Verizon Wireless. Contrary to their commercials, our calls were always getting dropped and we never could use our cell phones in or near our home. They kept promising they'd upgrade a nearby tower acquired from AT&T; for over a year which would help this problem, but we never saw it happen. We finally got fed up with it and switched. We now can use our cell phones in and near our home, too!

I wouldn't recommend Cingular because of this. From what I've experienced, they don't live up to their commercials. Prior to that, I'd been with AT&T; and had NO problems. I wish I could be more positive, but I'm afraid I can't.

horrible company, i hate them with a passion. i cant get any signal where I live and in most places, and the tech support even LIED TO ME! I asked why my networking features arnt working, and they said that it was a nation wide problem and that they were upgrading all their servers or something. I think that rep left a note next to my name on the computer because after that all the tech support continued with that same lie till I told them that i asked my friends with cingular and they wern't having any problems. Then they finally explained that my mom took away the feature, WHY NOT TELL ME THIS TO BEGIN WITH?? I hate these people and would gladly bomb the nearest location to my house if I ever have nothing to lose.

Cingular has great reception but their customer service and billing sucks. I was with Tmobile for 5 years and never had billing issues about a year ago their reception start to suck so i had to drop them. I should have never signed up with Cingular if I knew I was going to have to be babysitting my bill every single day.

A big zero stay away from this phone service. When it was AT&T; it was great they cared about their customers. Cingular is dishonest you think you are getting a certain package with your service for a special price. Then you find you are being charged 60 cents a minit for the nation wide long distance that was in that package you never got. They add and remove things from your plan whenever they feel like it, and you have no choice you have to pay. Then when you get out of your contract they charge you $500.00 dallars when it was suppost to be $75.00. Take my advice don't even sign up or look they lie.
