Man what can I say, i have ridden with every other cruiser out there and my 1999 Valkyrie Standard is still the bike to compare all others to. I get all the looks and the handling and power are #1 in this class even 10 years later. I am 5'7" and 165 pounds and I handle the bike fine due to its center of gravity. I ride it back and forth to work and on long rides through the mountains. There is no other cruiser that can compare. I would like to have another one.

If they made  a 3/4 size version, I'd buy it.

Have owned a 98 Tourer since new. Every year I look to trade up. So far have not found another bike that is better (or even its equal). By far the best bike I own.

I own a 2000 Valk Interstate. I've owned it now for about 5 years. This is a great bike. I'm 5'6", but muscular. I did lower the bike a couple of inches with progressive suspension, which helped with the height. I also have the Ultimate seat, which lowers the rider another inch or so. I think the bike handles great at both low speeds, and at speed. You simply forget you are on a big bike. At bike week, I had no trouble with handeling while I was in some pretty tight crowds (foot trafic). Too bad Honda stopped making the bike. I absolutely love it.

I ride the last year Valkyrie Interstate Honda made - a 2001. It is a big bike with big power, as many Harley riders have noticed. This bike is made for tall riders with good upper body strength. It has a low center of gravity and handles very well. Too bad they quit making it!

Let me start off by saying that I am the proud owner of a 2000 Valkyrie Standard. I purchased the bike about a year ago with 4,000 miles on it. And I have put about another 3,000 miles on it. I have riden on the fatlady for up to 14hrs in 1 day. And up to about 30 hrs in a day time span. Let me break it down as best I can Engine: Very powerful second to none.It sounds like a turbine going down the street and when you rev your engine up people will know you have a serious machine not just a noise maker This baby will get up and go, And if you really know what your doing you can get it to pop-a-wheelie. VERY RARE for a CRUISER! The engine is also super smooth. You can stand a nickel on the cam cover and rev the engine all the way up and the nickel will just slide around but will not fall. Its more like a Jet engine then a shaky motorcycle engine. Cosmetics: Could be better but now there are a ton of parts that you can purchase and add so much chrome that you wont be able to look direct... Read more

I'm 58 not a big guy or strong either. Two years ago we went looking for a bike to ride. Bought a great Kawasaki 750 Vulcan...too little we found out. Test drove a Suzuki LC 1500 and a Honda Valkyrie. Drove the Suzuki first. A little hard to handle going real slow, and when my wife said hit it there wasn't much there. Next was the Valkyrie. Smooth was our first impression. No tingles. Handled great at slow speeds, then Patty said hit it. The next thing I saw was her feet at eye level and boy does she grip hard when she flying off a bike! WE fell in love. Bought a 1998 Tourer in mint green and black with 4,000 miles on it. Last summer was a 3,500 mile trip from the heat of the Texas coast to Colorado. This summer was a 4,200 mile trip up to Montana and back through Yellow stone. These bikes are super smooth with all the power anyone needs short of drag racing. I can easily right mine by backing up with it. Tires are another matter. Dunlops wear out at 7,500 miles! I hear Avons are long... Read more

I have been riding for aoubt four decades now and went from Harleys to Goldwings about 26 years ago. I currently own an 1982 GL1100 Aspencade (original owner) and I thought she was the best bike going. NOT! Three weeks ago I bought a 2001 Valkyrie cruiser and fell head over heels in love with her. For such a big bike, she handles very well and has power from hell ! I can't rate how she handles on long distance rides yet or how my butt would feel after a 3,000 mile ride, but as a cruiser, she beats all others hands down. So now I have two ladies to ride :-)

I have the 1997 Valkyrie Tourer. It is without question the best damn motorcycle ever made.. If what you want is a big powerful smooth running heavy steel monster that has it's own look, you got to get one..! It has tree stump pulling torque and supersonic top end..! And it's a Honda, so you know is practically bullet proof. This may be the last bike I ever own...

I bought a 2003 base model last summer. I have owned many bikes in my life but this one has to be the king of the road. I am 6'2 tall with a 30 inseam and weigh 300lbs and it is still a big bike to me. Handles like a dream. This bike has plenty of power and I rarely have to downshift from 5th gear even going up country hills at speeds as low as 25 MPH. It just pulls right back up to cruising speed. It has increadible torque. The only thing I would suggest is to think of buying a used interstate if you plan to do any touring because all of the hard bags and extra's that come on the interstate have cost me a fortune putting on piece by piece. Also, hidden feature with the interstate is that you have over a gallon larger capacity fuel tank. Since the bike gets about 33 MPG it is nice to have more than a 5.1 gallon tank. Would only trade or sell it off if they come out with an 1800 Valkyrie (not the Rune). One that can carry passengers. Heck, lets go for an 8 cylinder Valk. I a... Read more

I own this bike, and though heavy, rides and controls better than my old shadow Ace, and almost all the harleys that are out now. My wife and I worked at a Harley dealer in town, and I still own my Valkyrie. Had a chance to buy whatever I wanted, still can't get me on anything else.

This is a wonderful big powerful cruiser. It is intimidating the first time you get on it, but when you feel the torque, braking, and manuverablity you'll be won over. Another plus for me is that the bike is great to customize.

This is one the great road bikes of all time. I've owned mine for 6 yrs and put 60000 miles on it. What makes the Valkyrie great is its overall versatility. It combines the all day comfort of a goldwing with the handling and power of anything in the sport touring class, the looks and cool engine to ride with the harley guys, and the reliability and finish of a Honda. And its a honest motorcycle. Its not trying to be a copy of someone else's motorcycle, everything you see is real steel, no false covers or fake scoops etc. A genuine future classic. It takes only one ride to understand!

Just get yourself a car. This thing is a monster, I think it's actually the biggest bike on the road at over 1500 cc's. Christ it weighs something like 750 lbs.!!! You'll need two friends just to help you pick it up if it ever falls over. I figure bikes are like luggage, don't pack/ride more than you can carry/pick up on your own. Of course I've most often used that line on my girlfriend and the all the extra stuff she brings along but I think it applies here as well.
