Best movie ever! I actually grew up where it was filmed so I am a little biased.. but still. It has earned cult following status. They actually had a 20th reunion in Astoria, Oregon in June of 2005. Jeff "Chunk" Cohen and Sean Astin came. People from all over the world came, England, Australia, and Italy. For the 25th anniversay in June of 2010 there is an even bigger celebration planned with even more of the cast planning to be in attendance. The house where it was filmed is even going to be open for touring. F-U-N!!

Another all-time "good bad" movie that's fun for any age. The main plot trigger is far-fetched (piracy along the Oregon coast?), but you're not watching it with an historical treatise in mind, anyway. This is one to plop down onto a recliner with (snuggled under a blanket with some popcorn on a cold, nothing day) and take in unfettered. Great names associated with the production (Spielberg and Chris Columbus), and a raft of 80s actors (Corey Feldman, Kerri Green, LOTR's Sean Astin, Ke Huy Quan, the inimitable John Matuszak, Anne Ramsey, Martha Plimpton, etc.) that you can't help but cheer for. FANTASTIC sets and locations (hardly anything prettier than Astoria), non-stop action (virtually free of all that rubbery CGI), and pratfalls and guffaws that translate well 20 years later. If you can't find something to like about this screen fave, you're just not trying very hard. Good enough!

A great film that gets more and more entertaining each time I watch it. For a "kid's movie", I thought that the characters were really well developed and the actors did a fine job of portraying them. A great story of humor and adventure.

One of my top faves when I was a kid, and still enjoy it today. A great story of a bunch of adventerous kids. It made every kid I know want to be a Goonie.

This is one movie never gets boring no matter how many times I watched it. Not the greatest actors, but an excellent plot.

I liked the Goonies. It had a good cast of child and teen actors. A group of kids want to save their homes in a town that is being threatened to get taken over by some "bigwigs" they find a map made by some pirates and seek out the buried treasure. they go through all kinds of dangers and adventures to get to the buried treasure. Pretty well done family movie.

If your child ever wants to go explore, show him this movie. I have loved this movie since jr. high. I have looking for it locally so I can buy it, but looks like I will have to buy it from Amazon.

Wow I love this movie. It appeals to the little kid inside me I guess:) Even though, with further thought, it's not much of a kid movie. Those Goonies have little potty mouths:) My theory is that it was made for adults in order to appeal to their own 10 year old inside. Oh well, reguardless of all that, it's still immensly entertaining. I would like to see a person who doesn't laugh their asses off at Data. Or sloth, for that matter (who looks to me to be a cross of Eric Stoltz in The Mask and Al Bundy). Goonies, in my opinion, is the best of the kid-adventure movie fare. You know, the ones with the token nicknamed characters (and there is always at least one fat kid and one really smart kid, not to mention like a older wiser sibling) running away from some sort of evil something or trying to find some sort of something while being chased by some sort of evil something. In trying to come up with better adjectives to describe it, the only one that really stands out is entertaining. It's... Read more

I felt like giving this movie a four or three star rating until I really thought about it. What was wrong with The Goonies? It has to be one of the most entertaining family films ever made. I watched this movie a couple days ago at Glorybox's house and I remember how great this movie actually is. Even if this movie is kind of dark and sinister it has an overall fun and good humored vibe to it. I remember watching it when I was really young and not really getting alot of it. It might confuse or scare some younger viewers. I wouldn't consider this a childrens movie. More of a comedy with its heart in the right place. What I found refreshing about this movie when I watched it the other day was the rather pleasent lack of ass jokes. No farts,no rectal cavity mishaps, it was great! Something the whole family can watch without haveing to see something take a sh*t! Anyway, anyone who has or hasn't seen this see it again...for the first time. (Wow. My hokeyness amazes even me sometimes.) HIGHL... Read more

Who didn't like the Goonies? I have watched this movie at least 100 times and it only gets better. A bunch of unpopular kids follow an old treasure map that belonged to a pirate named One Eyed Willy. This movie came out when I was a kid and all of my friends love it. As the kids follow the map they are being chased by 3 criminals. They encounter many booby traps along the way and in the end discover One Eyed Willy's treasure. They save their town and the criminals are arrested. Any kid will love this movie.
