Neutrogena Acne Mask

This product began to burn after 3 minutes. I kept it on for 5 minutes, as directed, and now i look like I have a nasty sunburn. This better go away before the morning.

Also, no other product has EVER done this to me. .

I really like this product. I have really oily skin and it left my skin feeling really clean. I did experience some redness but no pain. I suggest using it at night so the redness is gone by morning.

I used to use the mask regularly as directed without any problems. this morning however, I emerge from the bathroom looking raccooned and burnt. I'm not sure why now out of previous uses I've been burned, but I am thoroughly confused and (irritated) trying my damndest to cool my skin before I look like a tanning-bed accident.

this product burned my face. it's bright red now as i'm typing this. as was mentioned in previous posts, i do not have sensitive skin, not at all, i barely even sunburn.
also, i use this product regularly, once a week or so, i happen to have a cyst on my face right now (i don't break out ever, so the cyst has been stressing me out really bad) so i let the product dry for the whole 5 minutes despite the burning because the product does warn of a "cooling sensation"
so now my face looks sunburned. HOPEFULLY it will go away before i have to go into work because it's a new job and i'd rather not look like an idiot with a chemical burn.
this product should be off the market.

I have adult acne, and I love this product. Icannot find it anywhere. I understand it has been discontinued.

This irritated my face also. I've had it for a while, and decided to try it again without washing my face, thought that might be why may face turned sunburnt red. Nope. I sit here now with my little face bright red. This is the only thing that has ever irritated my face, and I have tried lots of stuff. I don't have much acne, just like to have my face feeling nice and clean. If I remember right, it'll be fine in a few hours. Since there are mixed reviews on this site, I would recommend you try this at night right before bed, just in case your face gets irritated.

I have been using this mask for over a decade now, and it really helps absorb excess oil and help clear my skin. I use it 2-3 times per week to help keep my skin blemish-free.

For me, this was the best product to keep my acne under controal. It didnt eliminate my acne, but I experienced no new outbreaks. My friend uses this, and agrees.

HOLY SMOKES. The first time I used this product, I thought to myself; "WOW this must work... It makes so much sense." And then I felt a BURNING sensation on my skin... Thinking little of it, I left the cream on. Much to my dismay, my face appeared to be VERY SUNBURNT after washing the mask off. Only after soaking my face in FREEZING water, and dousing it in ALOE VERA cream, did it return (mostly) to its original hue. HOWEVER. When used in moderation, on sensitive skin such as mine, I've found that it will DRY my skin quite nicely. One must make sure that is what they are going for though. I've found that DRYING my skin out isn't necessarily the BEST way to get rid of my acne. The only thing worse than this would be rabid COUGARS clawing at my face, and SPITTING rabies into the sores.

This is a horribly product. It actually burned my face. I do not have sensitive skin, and I use other masks often. I put this on and withing a few seconds it started to burn. It burned so badly and I took it off almost immediately. My face actually turned a raw red, almost purple. It stayed that way throughout the evening. I actually had pictures taken because I was actually concerned that it had burned my skin so much that I would need to go the doctor. Forget this stuff... stick with a salycic acid product for on the spot care (TRY the bio brand sold at Bath and Body works... it is gently and works!) and for a mask stick with Queen Helene's green junip mask... works better and is soothing (You can even see the blackheads pulled from the skin!)

Neutrogena Clay Mask for acne treatment is quite good compared to On the Spot Treatment. It helps to removes my dark flaky skin, shrinking the acne, and helps to absorb excess oil. Does not burn skin. One of the best masks available in market.

This mask (acne treatment product) is good in absorbing oil, but it does not work really well in treating or dries up acne. There are comments in this site mentioned that this product burn skin, but I’ve tried putting this product all over my face for almost 10 hours before washing it off. This acne mask, for me is a non-irritating medication, odorless and it does not burn skin. But for other people, this acne treatment might hurt may because of the 5% BP content. For those who are sensitive with this BP treatment, try to put it on your face for less than 20 minutes, OR you can try this: place a small neither too thick nor too thin layer of this mask only on your acne prone area of your skin. Have you ever try any acne patches treatments? If you have, try to make this acne mask as acne patches treatment by applying it directly onto the acne. Apply before bedtime and let the medication remains on your face until the next morning. So, instead of having your face covered by this mask, and burns all over, it is better for you to make this treatment like patch look alike treatment as it will treat your acne prone area and dry up acne. It will take you 2 to 3 days for total recovery with proper usage in conjunction with Neutrogena On the Spot Acne Treatment. For those who are okay with BP treatment, you can apply this treatment all over your face and get a noticeably clean and clear result. Application tips before bedtime: Wash your face thoroughly with warm or cold water as what you prefer. Towel dry your face. Use any facial astringent to remove any residue but please make sure that this astringent is alcohol free or at least it does not contain isopropyl alcohol! Then apply the Neutrogena Clear Pore treatment, all over face, let it dry for 5 minutes. Follow on with Neutrogena On the Spot Acne Treatment, direct onto the acne prone skin or all over face. Then apply this mask by making it patch look alike treatment. Let it dry and wash it off on the next day. Happy trying.

This Neutrogena, Oil Absorbing Mask is really good to heal blemishes and acne. Apply it on your face for 10 to 20 minutes or else wash it off immediately if you feel pain or burn on your face. It probably means that your skin still can not tolerate with the percentage amount of Benzoyl Peroxide (5%). The usage of mask twice a week is necessary, because you need to exfoliate your dead skin cells. Instead of using facial scrub (walnut shells and salt like grains) this acne mask medication is much more better, because you're not scratching your skin, you might feel your skin smoother after having a facial scrub but to be true, it opens up your pores and making it easier to be infected and make your acne worser than ever before. As for me, this products clears up my acne and blemishes within 4 weeks in combination with Neutrogena Facial Cleanser, On The Spot Acne Medication and Clear Pore treatment. All of us know that Benzoyl Peroxide irritates skin, this is because it allows more oxygen deep into your skin pores and making it unsuitable inhabitant for bacteria growth. As what I've mentioned above, let this acne mask on your face for 10 - 20 minutes. If only you can't stand the irritation, wash it off immediately, then try to apply it on the next two or three days after for 3 to 5 minutes. One more thing, just apply a thin layer, not thick! Please be patient, and don't judge the product right after the first time you'd applied it. Try to understand your skin, also, try to know about the product, the ingredients, again BE PATIENT to see result. : Your acne might not directly disappear after applying 2 - 3 times of this medication, however it helps prevent future braekouts since the formation of acne takes 6 to 8 weeks before they appear on skin. It's BETTER if your available acne won't directly go away,(but they'll shrink, I believe!) rather than making your skin worser by using facial scrub, as this mask penetrates deep down into your pores and exfoliates the dead skin cells, yet killing the acne bacteria.

This product BURNED my face after 3 minutes. After washing the product off, my face was red all day, and I had a hard time covering it up with make-up. I do not have sensitive skin nor am I allergic to any other product. I use and recommend Clean and Clears Persa-gel which is the same company as Neutrogena (Jhonson & Jhonson)but more gentle. For those people who think that a tingling sensation on your face is good...PLEASE do not be fooled by this famous gimmick. Studies prove that the product is really irritating your skin. Try Cetaphil, it is very gentle and the reviews are great. Word of mouth sells this product. HOME REMEDIES: Also, tea tree oil is a great regiment for acne. Expensive $12 Canadian, works good, and a little goes a long way. Also try Distilled Witch Hazel as an astrigent (ask for @ WALMART; very inexspensive). Buy an Aloe Vera Plant, and use as a mosturizing and healing treatment for acne. GOOD LUCK! There was nothing tingling about Neutrogena’s product…MY FACE LITERALLY FELT LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE!!!

I think this is one of the best Masks for acne that I found in the drugstore. I've found that it does help heal breakouts. I would only use it once a week twice at the most. if you are using other acne products your skin might become sensitive and a little dry.

I don't use it often, but when I do I have good results with little or no irritation. Also, often it's better to use it only where your skin is really oily and rinse it off after 10 minutes rather than 20.

It works really well. You can really feel it work. You get a tingling feeling. After it is rinsed off your face feels really clean and refreshed.

This product works really well. Within two days of use most acne (on my face) disappears. I prefer using more natural treatments, but when it gets really bad this works great.

I am getting older and having to take better care of myself. I use a mask treatment about once a week. I really like this product.
