The kit is complete. The wax is meant to be pulled off without muslin strips, that's why it doesn't come with them. To be honest, if you are planning on waxing yourself, it is difficult because of the pain and you probably will need help from a friend. My boyfriend helped me, and if he can do it, anyone can. It comes with a video that helps you if you are a novice. The wax is super thick and pulls off everything. It is pretty easy, but I still believe you need additional hands to do it for yourself. Great value--endless waxes for less than the price of 1 bikini wax.

Great kit, but I'd invest in some extra muslin strips like Gigi Natural Muslin Roll - 3.25"x 40yds to go with it, and maybe a better wax too. The value you are paying for in this kit is the AWESOME warmer that keeps the wax the right temperature.

This product is so much better than I expected! I thought it would be a total disaster but it went very well... relatively speaking. It is very difficult to give yourself a bikini/brazillian wax but it can be done with this. I have less redness with this wax rather than soft wax at the salon. The heater is essential. This is a great value seeing as one time at the salon costs more than the entire product! I agree with others that it would be nice to have a post wax cream/shea butter in the kit. One more thing, be sure to let the wax dry completely before trying to remove!

If you yank hair from the roots- it hurts! No matter what you use -it hurts That being said hard wax is slightly less painful-slightly If you keep up with maintainance it is wonderful- if starting from scratch i would suggest going to the salon then just doing upkeep from then on. It is messy and time consuming!! It helps to scream your loved ones name while you yank- really keeps you focused on why you are torturing yourself!!

First of all, many of the other reviews say you need to purchase muslin strips, but you don't; it's the kind of wax that doesn't require strips of any kind. Secondly, I'm not convinced this is worth the money. I've used the cheapo Sally Hansen $5 tubs from CVS forever, and, while those are really messy and awful, they get the job done on the easy parts just as well as this one does (although this kit comes with an instructional DVD, which is nice). Finally, I've used this kit twice now, and both times I've had disastrous experiences (on the same part of my body, to boot). I bought this so that I didn't have to pay for salon waxes anymore, but I just might suck it up, accept the extra cost, and go back. When a wax gets done wrong, it HURTS.
