I haven't yet but I have no qualms about it. I just haven't had the opportunity. When I was a kid my father and uncles would go into the desert, here in California and in New Mexico, and hunt rattlesnakes. He would sell the skins and rattles and bring home the meat. My mother was always too freaked out to let me eat it. My father swore it tasted good.

I tried fried rattler at a county fair a year ago (a.k.a Western Diamondback) and it was pretty tasty! It tasted like fried shrimp without the seafood flavor. If only grocery stores sold it like regular meat, poultry, and fish; that way, I wouldn't have to go to a specialty butcher shop.

Voluntarily, I would say no, but you never know what survival might force upon a person.

Maybe, I'd give it a go...I would just pretend I was Indiana Jones at the dinner from Temple of Doom.

I'd try it... would I have to kill it and cook it and all that?

I ate it once. It tastes like chicken, like your belt would if you marinated it in chicken broth.

I've done this several times, and apart from an abundance of bones, its delicious.
