Unless you're a Packer or Viking fan, I'll assume you loved watching this guy play football. I don't care if he fails or does well as a coach- he just 'seemed' like a coach on the field during his heydey. The Pro-Bowls, playoff games, and classy demeanor all contributed to his presence. Solid tackler, smart player, and a guy you would probably have a hard time keeping off your all-time team or certainly your best-of-the-last-30 years team. Points for that hilarious Vernon Davis 'can't win with them' rant as well. ..

A field general in every sense. Played with an unrivaled tenacity and intensity. Maybe the smartest LB ever to play.

An intimidating presence at the middle of the Chicago Bears' defensive scheme throughout the 1980's and into the 1990's, Mike Singletary was definitely the "Heart of the Defense" for the Chicago Bears as this perennial All-Pro anchored his team through eleven seasons. Having anchored the Buddy Ryan-coached defense of 1985 which is arguably the greatest ever assembled, Singletary is himself today considered one of the greatest ever linebackers, and had that honor bestowed to... Chicago Bears 1981-1992 #50. He was a 10 time Pro-Bowler, 9 time All-Pro. Inducted into the NFL football Hall-of-Fame in 1998. He was a tad short but very powerful. He was considered one of the most intelligent linebackers in the NFL. He was a very tough customer.
