I love this thing, been using it with my Win 98 with RealOne player and it works great. I've since upgraded to a Win 2000 machine and I cannot get the music to play. Transfers fine using RealOne but cannot listen.Any suggestions is much apreciated.

I used one that a friend had bought. I liked the way it worked, very straight forward. I didn't have to read anything to get it to work. Lots of playback time. But my main reason for liking it so much was the ease of use.

The Diamond Rio 500 is great. It beats out almost all other portable media; small size, track selectability, and customizable memory combined with the fact that it records music from your computer fast.

Diamond's product line is in the mid-range compared to other MP3's. The style is pretty good and it allows us to have interchangeable covers. It's internal memory has about 32MB, so for the mid-range price it is reasonable.

Why buy this when you can get an MP3 CD player for $100? The capacity is weak. With an MP3 CD player you can fit like ten albums on one CD. Don't waste the extra money for less goods.

While MP3 players are a bad idea generally (Mini Disc players are the same price and use cheap media), this is a solid machine and the software it comes with is decent enough (although Winamp is a better player).

Diamond's Rio 500 is the successor of its little brother the 300PMP and excels in many areas. First of all, it's a USB device, overall is great. Unlike the 300, it works with Windows 2000, ME and 9X without usage of 3rd party applications. The standard management software is easy to use, but not the best there is for power users. If you have Win. ME, use Windows Media Player instead. The devices interface is easy to use and intuitively designed. Music can be sorted according to genres via folders and random use/repeat modes that adds a lot of variety to the songs stored on the 64 MB built in card.

The Rio is getting better from where it used to be, but it still needs to have more memory storage. It's too expensive when I spend a few hundred dollars on it and then have to purchase more hardware just to have a little more storage.

I think this MP3 player is pretty good. It holds about 15-18 Megs of music and the good thing about it is that it is very durable. You can run with it or shake it and it won't skip like CDs or MDs. It was one of the original models. I like it.

It can't be beaten by the competition in the market right now. New and compact edition is very comfortable to carry around in a bag or backpack. Many prefer to put it in the their own pockets.

I really think the MP3 player is cool. My Rio is quick, reliable and everybody thinks it's cool. The only downside is that cards to put more music on are expensive, and you can only store like 15 songs.

I like the design because it is slim and very portable, but the smaller something is, the easier it will be lost. Whoever created the MP3 player is a genius. I gave it a four because I prefer the Sony Walking stick over this.

I liked this MP3 player because of its expandable memory. The newer 600 version doesn't even have this yet. And the 500 is cheaper.

I personally like this MP3 player the best because of the easy use. You are able to figure out how much space you have left and how much you have used automatically. Also, it looks the nicest and I like the fact that it says the title of the song on the player. It is very convenient.

This MP3 player is a good one. It's inexpensive, and if you love a variety of programmable music, it's a great investment. Too bad it doesn't have a larger harddrive to hold more songs.

The portability and ease of use of this product is the best thing going for it. The fact that you can just download songs whenever you want is great. However, the lack of any serious equalizer or bass boost weakens the sound quality, and so in terms of sound quality it falls short of portable disc players and tape players.

Very clever and unique, the Rio has good sound quality and easy instruction, but is basically pointless if you have a minidisc player.

I recently purchased one of these in order to listen to my digital music away from my computer. It was incredibly simple to use, and the quality of music was nearly that of a cd player. Well worth the money I spent so I could carry one piece of equipment with only my favorite songs from all of my cds.

Big improvement over the PMP 300 -- that extra 32 MB of ram makes a big difference in storage capacity, and let's your create mp3's at higher quality levels.

We have one at work. I really wanted one until I used it. The problems are: too pricy, a poor interface and mp3 sounds bad over a real stereo. It might be OK if you have lots of money, but wait for better units otherwise.
