Used to be the absolute only thing I would use for 30+ years. Then they pulled a "coke" and changed the formula. Now it goes on wet and stays that way. Not to mention the fact that huge chunks of the stick fall off and end up on the floor and then the trash can. Talked to customer service who gave the standard run around. After being a loyal customer for all those years, they will never get another dollar of mine. For all you long-time, now dissatisfied mitchum customers, I have found "Arm & Hammer Ultra Max Invisible Solid" to be a worthy substitute. Both have the active ingredient of Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex. Although the old mitchum had 20% and the A&H has 19%, I find the A&H has the same look, feel, and effectiveness of the old mitchum. Took me a while to find a replacement, so I hope this helps.

I began using Mitchum solid unscented deodorant in the 70's. I hate that it is no longer available!!!!!! I DO NOT like any of the new Mitchums. They do not work for my husband, and one even gave him an awful rash in his armpits. I have purchased several other brands of deodorant, but do not like those either. I want the old Mitchum back.

I've tried MAAAAANYYYY deodorants and anti-perspirants and I end up frustrated and disappointed because none of them seem to work. I have tried all brands of the ones that say "clinically proven" and stuff like that and nothing. It is so ridiculous to spent over 10 bucks in a deodorant and get no results...still smelly arms and sweaty underarms. My life turned around when I found Mitchum. It is the best deodorant/anti-perspirant EVER. It comes in different scents and do not irritate nor clogs your armpits. Best 4 bucks spent month after month.

After using certain dri-antiperspirants, I became disliking the fact that it can clog up and preventing sweating and I don't want that. I try to stay away from any antiperspirants and deodorants that leaving bad smell behind, irritating too much or give me rashes. Since I have very bad underarm smell, I finally found one deodorant that really works for me. I have a terribly bad funky armpit odour, like cockroach smell, so I need deodorant. however not just any deodorant, because I don't want it to dry-up or clog up my skin or give me bad smell afterwards. I've been using UARMSOL deodorant for many years now and I have no more armpit odours. Even when I sweat I don't have any odours, this deodorant works great and I'm loving it. I can't go out in the day without putting it on. Even when I sweat my armpits don't have any smell. I applied 1 pinch and it's all to it for the whole day without worries about any smell afterwards. There's no after sport smell or odour masking. I would recomm... Read more

I only use deoderant after I take shower, because if you put on deoderant with smelly sweaty armpits it gets the deoderant dirty itself and then your deoderant isn't gonna be clean. But, anyway I like this deoderant. I just smooth it on after I take a shower and its not like I feel under my armpits so I don't feel the texture of it. uh.... and I think it smells good and I like the gel formula. it doesn't burn or leave a rash or anything and it keeps my armpits sweat and b.o free the rest of the day. yup.

***UPDATE*** I just called 800-473-8566 to complain about the new formulas, and ask about the excellent, original solid. The customer service rep. for Revlon said the *original solid unscented Mitchum*...HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED! Do all the phone calls, letters, and web forums full of CUSTOMER complaints & pleas mean nothing to Revlon? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mitchum *original* solid deoderant is wonderful, if you can find it. It's the best protection at the best price. I have used Mitchum *original* solid, unscented for, gosh, more than 20 years. I've used it since I tried it the first time I saw their commercial, "So effective you can even skip a day." They came out with the gel and "Smart" invisible solid a couple of years ago. There's nothing smart about it! I used it - it actually hurt going on (it's sticky with a weird, dried gelatin texture) and it crumbled - big chunks fell right off. I returned it, and after much... Terrible! I used it and my armpits started burning but I thought dryness would be worth it then at 10:00 that morning not only did I have wet armpits, they were also red. I thought I would be getting relief from this product but all I got was pain and embarassment.

I too have used Mitchum for years. It was a great product. The new gel is horrible at best. I have a solution to all that are not satisfied with their "new and improved" Mitchum. Send it back to the company with a note explaining how dissatisfied you are. I have tried contacting the company etc, etc. to no avail. Enclose your reciept and tell them you want your money back, not a coupon. There is power in numbers!

I've used Mitchum deoderant for years and loved it, Recently they made a change in the formula and now the deoderant is terrible. I am now in the process of finding another deoderant. If they would go back to the old formula I'd use it again.

I have used Mitchum for 15+ years and loved it. Unfortunately something has happened to the product. When I bought the roll on, it did not dry, so I threw it away and bought another one. Only to learn that that one also did not dry. So I tried the stick and it has broken off in chunks several times. I am quite tired of the product breaking and falling so I decided to see it others are also experiencing my same issues and all of the comments below read just like mine. Mitchum Management, please read and go back to the old formulas before everyone stops buying your products. I am going to the store tonight and will not buy Mitchum based on the below comments it looks like all of the products now have a problem. I am disappointed and now have to find a new deodorant.

How stupid is Mitchum management? As a full time MBA student at a top 15 MBA US MBA program the decision to change their extremely successful formula blows my mind. It really is almost laughable at the stupidity behind it. Losing loyal customers is one of the worst things a company to do, and deodorant has a very loyal customer base. Changing a successful formula is one of the biggest marketing and business faux pas a company can make. Seriously, New Coke anyone? To top it all off, their website is one of the worst I've seen for a legitimate consumer product. It's just awful, there's no Feedback section or really any information about the deodorant whatsoever. Nor did I find anywhere that they actually acknowledge their formula change. I've been a loyal Mitchum customer for 12+ years now, and had never even considered changing deodorants. However; since the new formula has been introduced, they've already lost me, because I find it sticky, and I've started sweating in my pits ... Read more

I had used Mitchum for years and was very happy with it. I am on my second bottle of the new formula roll on and I hate it. I bought the second one because I figured there might be something wrong with the first one. It does not dry, I sweat and I always feel like I have body odor. None of the three issues happened with the old formula. I am glad I found this site as I have been trying for a while to find out how to complain. I will give Revlon a call and tell them I will no longer be buying their product because it is ineffective and you might as well wear no deodorant at all.

I have used this deodorant for many, many years. It works good. In the past 2-3 years I have a complaint that there is a hole in the center of the actual deodorant and when I use it the top breaks off and then a lot of it falls off. I have repeatly tried to put it back on; but with no success. I am very tired of this happening because it is extremely wasteful of my money. I purchased the one that is for "clinical performance" and it did the same thing. I have tried not pushing it too far out many times; but it doesn't seem to matter. I also use Arid and Sure and they do not do that. I really am tired of this happening and wasting my money. I will probably have to use Arid and Sure. If anyone knows of a way to prevent this from happening please let me know Sincerely

I agree with these posts. Used to work great for me as well. No scent and very effective. If it ain't broke why why why fix it? They broke it quite effectively. It's now ineffective and I developed an itchy rash after the very first use. I'm trashing this Mitchum and hope to find something that works as well as the original Mitchum once did.

Back in the 70's, THIS was the brand that worked. They ran full-page ads in the papers----but everyone read the paper in those days. I tried the "sport' version over the past year and nothing, as far as protection. I just switched to Certain Dri, which really works, and now use the Mitchum pack as an opened air freshner til it evaporates.

3 stars I enjoy the product for effectiveness but it does not hold up to it's advertising that it will not show white on your clothes Mitchum?? for Women Clear Gel, No Residue Formula. Quick drying gel formula leaves no trace of messy white residue on you or your clothes. I have white residue on my clothes everyday and it is dry when I put my clothes on. Please either do not use this advertising or make a product that holds up to it's advertising.

To those who liked the old product, I want to thank you for the opportunity to make a statement regarding Mitchum Roll on unsented Anti Perspirant and Deodorant I have used it for over 10 years and it had worked great. Not sure what Revlon Cons. Prod Corp. did to it, but the changes have me very un happy. For such a long time it worked perfectly and I noticed in the last two containers I purchased do not work any more . With the old Mitchum Roll on I did not sweat at all all day long and I did not have odor basically at all and could go two days if I needed without using it, maybe it was too good and sales were slumping I dont know. The new product unsented is actually not unsented and states that it has odorguard and is superstrength odor protection. Its to bad that companies think they need to improve good products that work great and when they change them they change the character of the product and it no longer performs in the same manner. I need something that works as I hate to ... Read more

I have been using Mitchum for many, many years. And I loved it, because it was unscented, and your underarms kept unscented. You never would sweat. Until one day I noticed something different when I put it on. It was not drying and I was sweating into the day and I got a rash! I tried another bottle, but it did the samething. Why did they do this to the consumer? They need to go back to the old formula. But I need to find out, whats in the formula different then before, thats causing it not be effective.

I used the Mitchum wide solid unscented stick for over 30 years and loved it -even if it did have a small problem with residue. This new supposedly SMART solid is terrible! It breaks off in chunks and doesn't even work as well as the old stuff, which is nearly impossible to get. Right now I am combing the internet trying to find the old stuff. I see I am not alone in finding this "new and improved" formula to be a lot like New Coke. Awful, awful, awful!!!!!

Well - I just registered my complaint with Revlon!! Hopefully if enough of us call them they will go back to the "old" ingredients of Mitchum. So - please call. The 888-MITCHUM number does not work!!! Call this number 1-800-473-8566 to reach Revlon. I agree with all the recent reviews!! I have been using Mitchum forever and then all of the sudden they change the look of the bottle and the deodorant itself. I have a mjaor rash and itch. I put the deodorant on at 6:15 this morning and it is STILL not dry!!!!!! I recently tried Dry Idea and that is just not working for me either (it cakes up). Can someone recommend a good deodorant? PLEASE CALL REVLON and maybe we can get some action and they wil go back to the old deodorant. Thanks.

Revlon makes Mitchum.............1-888-MITCHUM They have no listing of the Mitchum product on their website. They have no customer feeback forum for any of their products. Their "contact us" form is very limited and not a viable way for a customer to register a complaint. Basically Revlon is a giant in the health and beauty industry and could not care less about their customers. Many corporations have been forced to recall a product that is so defective. I think the overloaded vaults at Revlon should be cracked open and every one of their unsatisfied customers should get a full refund. After finding a magnifying glass to read the miniscule print on the back of the product, (BTW I am 44 with perfect vision) I was able to read their phone number. The product imported into Canada by Revlon Canada and sold here in Canada has a toll free number that is not accessible from Canada. I don't think that is by mistake. Revlon does not want to hear from its customers. The product I have been using... Read more

I've used Mitchum Solid Unscented for over 30 years, glad that I would never have to seek a better product, that is until I started using whatever this NEW & IMPROVED product is. The new product feels creepy going on, it's given me an extremely uncomfortable rash under both my arms & I'm itching so bad I've removed several layers of skin. Mitchum has become a totally unusable product!

I have used Mitchums since 1973 and never had any problems until the formula change. I began having an underarm rash and itching like hell fire, stopped using it went to Secret which didn't cause a rash, but isn't really an effective anti-perspirant, switched back to Mitchums, still got the rash. Guess I'm just going to have to smell. If anyone knows of a good effective antiperspirant I'd love to hear about it.

I agree with every complaint listed. After using this product for 30+ years and recommending it to many people I will no longer use it. It crumbles, so I never get my money's worth, the formula has been changed and it is no longer effective. It also takes forever to dry and when it does there are flakes from the dried deodorant. I am sorry about this change because it really WAS an excellant product.

I have used Mitchum for many years and now this deoderant is causing some major problems with it causing with after showering in the evening and going to bed, Mitchum has caused like bleach like stains on my sheets that will not wash out and even worse is that this Mitchum deoderant has ruined 2 very expensive shirts that the first one that i sent to the cleaners, i thought they ruined. It caused very brown marks where my underarms go and then the material when i touched it, MY FINGERS WHEN I TOUCHED THOSE STAIN SIMPLY TORN RIGHT THROUGH THE MATERIAL. I was furious with the cleaners thinking this was their horrible mistake somehow using chemicals. I then bought another almost $200.00 shirt in South Beach, Miami, wore this shirt one time, decided to wear a couple of days later, asked my wife to just press a few wrinkles and as soon as she put the lightly heated iron towards the armpit area, there were those very dark brown spots right where the deoderant would be, I CAME UNGLUED! Wow, I'm glad I stumbled upon this site because I was starting to think that the stress of living was finally starting to get to me. I started using Mitchum about 12 years ago when nothing else worked at all. I guess the grocery store I get my personal hygiene products from finally ran out of inventory and purchased a new batch because about a month ago I bought a new stick of "extreme" something or other gel and it doesn't work at all. I'll just be sitting at my desk literally dripping down my sides. I thought it was this new version that was the problem so I went back a couple of weeks later and bought the normal Mitchum gel I had always been using. Same problem. I guess it's freshman year of high school all over again and I've got to find something else that works. This sucks.

I am glad to find this site. I purchased 4 of the unscented solid on clearance over a year ago and just ran out. I bought clear solid and it is horrible. The rite aid and cvs still have the unscented solid...but it is $5! Guess that is a bargain from the stories I am reading here.I will also call the mitchum 800 number and complain. Oh yes, I agree with everyone. This product falls apart after using it for a short while and then you have to throw away the huge chunk that breaks off. (or the several smaller chunks) I am new to Mitchum and when this happened, I called the company to let them know my experience. They led me to believe that what I experienced was unusual and they sent me 2 coupons to replace the product. So I bought a few more and it has happened again to EVERY one. Apparently, it is the product. It does not leave a white residue on my clothes, but it is a waste if I have to throw away half of the product every time. I will look for another brand.

URGENT!!! I have been a long-time user of Mitchum's solid stick, but you have recently changed your formula and you now call it "Smart Solid." I am unable to find any of your original formula now so assume you have stopped producing it. This "smart solid" has the unfortunate habit of breaking off - in pieces, as it is being used. The consequence is that I am throwing away small chunks of your product, and also have to crawl around on the bathroom floor, picking them up before my dog finds them and eats them. I am now using my second "smart solid" and thought I should give it one more try - that perhaps I had gotten hold of an old or dried-out product the first time. This one is still the same. It is OK for the first week or so, but as I get farther down it, it starts to break off in little pieces as I rub it against my skin. I have tried being very gentle with my strokes, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Hope you will look into this and make some adjustments to y... Read more

I just bought the Mitchum Anti-perspirant gel and it just doesn't work AT ALL as far as helping with perspiration. As I haven't used deodorant/anti-perspirant sticks for a couple of years, I can't seem to remember which brand worked well for me. But this is truly a waste of time and money. Furthermore, the stick reads: "Bonus! 25% more". Well, perhaps, but the plunger on the container is almost halfway up! (yes, it was an unused stick with the protective seal on the opening). Why then can't they make it smaller then? Well, because as we all know that it part of the "market to sell" ploy. I am still using the Right Guard spray, which still works better than Mitchum (or should I perhaps say - "MyChump")
