I haven't used Sucrets in a long time. I do know they give some relief, but not for very long. They usually wear off pretty fast.

Sucrets is great for a sore throat. It soothes the burning and the drops taste pretty good. There's no side effects with this cough drop that I can think of.

Sucrets don't taste that bad, but after taking one of them, the inside of my mouth always feels numb. I'm not sure I wouldn't rather my throat hurt than to have my mouth numb.

I really don't care for the new taste. I remember 'way back when each Sucret was individually wrapped and I loved the taste. These newfangled things are terrible. They don't do a thing for me. Why did you go and change it? If it wasn't broken, why did you try to fix it? Give me back my old Sucrets!

Well, I have to give Sucrets one thing going for them--THEY WORK! Take one of these sore-throat drops and you will completely forget about your sore throat. However, they tend to make your entire mouth numb... not a good kind of numb either, it's really irritating. I reccommend having some of these on hand, though, as it's worth sucking on one of these things when you have an ultra-bad sore throat. I certainly wouldn't take one, though, for a minor sore throat... little too good. The cherry ones do taste nice, though (at least before your mouth goes numb, that is).

When I have a really bad sore throat, Extra Strength Sucrets is sometimes the only thing that helps. It works like a local anesthetic and kind of numbs the back of my throat (and my tongue). The Halls or Robitussin cough drops, on the other hand, don’t seem to do anything for me – using them is just like eating candy.

Made me stop coughing. Soothed my throat. They last a long time.

The taste is really bad, and gets really worse as the medecine dissolves. Doesn't seem to work very well, probably because I didn't want to finish it!

I was so on this product. It does the job it says it will do but you feel all numb after the Sucret is gone. It's not a good numb though it's just a different kind of feeling you would not want to have. If it really hurts, don't risk it.

I can't really say that they were very effective medicinally, I tend to think any sort of candy would help to sooth a sore throat. I'm going to have to disagree with the other poster however and say that I used to like the taste of these, not the green ones but the CHERRY ones..mmmmhhh those were good.

I agree with the reviewer below - this is a classic case of what is worse, the ailment or the treatment... The tins were cool, but not cool enough to justify having to choke on these foul tasting things.

Yuck. Doesn't work and tastes horrible. I'd rather have a sore throat all day then suck on one of these lozenges. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1 is that the tins they come in (or used to, anyway) are AWESOME.
