OK, it's now Nov. 2009, and I've just purchased more replacement filters, resulting in this updated review. But this review is in the form of a series of photos, since pics are worth 1000 words: (note that my latest purchase of China-made filters have dark holes rather than white holes as do the USA ones) http://powerpics.tripod.com/culligan/culliganfilter s.html And below is my review as of last month: =================================== Top quality (but make sure as soon as you buy replacement filters to check whether ALL the holes on the side are WHITE, NOT BLACK. Any filters with even one black hole would be defective. If there's black showing thru, then its just filtering thru the white holes but not any of the black ones). As for the other reviewer's bad rating, note the Culligan filter housing has lasted me for years, so disregard what s/he states about the metal lever falling off - it's total baloney! By comparison, in years past, I've owned a Brita Pitcher as well as Br... Read more

I agree with the last poster 100% works great what I like is you can adjust it to the left / right or anywhere to 180 degrees of the faucet head and the tap water comes out the same spot . I like mine to the far right so I dont lose any sink room . I was worried about that . The water is pure . I drink bottled water normally this tasted better no plastic ..just wonderful . I needed clean water for a humidifier . I was able to put this on the second bathroom faucet . I love it . I hated rinsing after brushing my teeth with the well water but the filter water is top quality . My only worry is filters wont last long with my well contaninents , rust , pete , calcium ,,However it works great after the instal . I did take chanel locks and give it a quarter turn past finger tight to get it to seal tight . I wouldnt tighten it anymore but my fingers are weak a strong grip could instal it with no tools . Thanks so much for being enthusiastic for you that liked this and getting me to try it .... Read more

this is one of the more affordable adapters for a faucet head you can buy, but it is effective for the water I have where i live. I have old copper piping (100 + years old) and heavy chlorine. I would say this brings the aftertaste and smell of chlorine down by around 90% to a level where water should be in a regular newer construction, rural town hook up location such as where i am. Definatley worth the purchase, and more affordable in the long run. I have owned PUR and Brita filters in the past, but it was an arm and a leg to replace filters. Also, I really am not worried about all the other metals that the facier filters claim to get out, along with bacteria. I hope the water is better than that. If you have bad chlorine or copper taste, this will do the trick taking care of it!!!

The Culligan Faucet Filter #FM15A is simple to install. It took only five minutes to do so. It removes what it claims and, in the process, also takes out the excessive chlorine taste, leaving water with no taste. Because it accomplishes its intended purpose at a relatively low cost, I must give it five stars.

I bought this in hopes of having a better quality of water. It was easy to install, but the water quality was almost the same. and the little handle that you pulled out stopped working after 2 weeks. I won't be buying this again. I will look for a better quality product.

Very small design. Water tastes much better without the strange odor. Doesn't get in the way, besides, the filter can be rotate around where it is attached to the faucet. Automatically switch back to unfilter once faucet is closed. This actually safe filter's life. The price is great. Would recommend it to a friend.
