Sure he is. All successful politicians are. When I worked in the business I never met a single one who wasn't. Obama just doesn't bother to hide it much. I have problems with him, but this isn't one of them.

Then again, most politicians extremely insult the intelligence of the American people. Obama and McCain's vote for the bailout bill represents the latest in this trend.

What should we do about this? Vote the bums out of office!

His arrogance/narcissism is a forgivable offense, once it is acknowledged. He had some nerve in 1999, running against Rep.Bobby Rush for the Congress. It was a landslide, all right. One you have conveniently not heard of in all of 2008. Part of his experience, I suppose.

A reason like this one insults us all. Why did Bush only spent 3 trillions on the Irak war? When with the surge and all, things over there are going so fine!....Where's the money when you need it , Doofus?

I don't believe anything that comes out of this man's mouth. There, I said it. He apparently doesn't know any of his associates once they can damage his campaign and he has high minded ideals that fly in the face of his past dealings and sparse voting record. Don't say I didn't warn you when we elect this asshole.

More and more of his pictures are showing him with a high nose, looking down to all of us.

I don't ask much from our president, but I do want him to hide his contempt for me.

*Update* There is a difference in confidence and arrogance.

Charles Krauthammer put it best, "Americans are beginning to notice Obama's elevated opinion of himself. There's nothing new about narcissism in politics. Every senator looks in the mirror and sees a president."

"Nonetheless, has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?"

"Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his name, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. As president of the Harvard Law Review, as law professor and as legislator, has he ever produced a single notable piece of scholarship? Written a single memorable article? His most memorable work is a biography of his favorite subject: himself."

(OM)From his statement about Pennsylvanians, "They cling to their guns and bibles," or his entrance song. "Oh you look so beautiful tonight In the city of blinding lights." Then comes the thumb in the American people's eyes, "The more you see the less you know. The less you find out as you go. I knew much more then than I do now." Does he think people are that stupid? That they are not paying attention?

"The more you know the less you feel. Some pray for others steal. Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel... luckily!" Another slam on religious folk.

Another criticism that could equally apply to either candidate.

I suspect those who hope we'll see only Obama's faults will soon tell us he's not sufficiently confident... in fact some already have.

I'm glad someone is willing and brave to speak the truth, and yes, the truth hurts.

Of course he's arrogant. He's usually the smartest cat in the room and his degrees, accomplishments, books, and cash speak to it. And his crack about guns and bibles reflects fundamentalism of any stripe. Hate prince Dumbo for his voting record and beliefs, but the idea that he's 'arrogant' after defending dubya (arrogance without justification or intellect) is simply astounding. Great generals, coaches, leaders, and quarterbacks always have a touch of arrogance because if they don't they wouldn't have the job in the first place. Sheesh. When did America become a land of sensitive weaklings?
