This company’s service on my recent move from Hawaii to Florida was, to say the least, atrocious. First of all, the estimated charge they gave me by email was $5,200. My wife and I did all the packing ourselves. Their movers blanketed the furniture and boxed a few large items such as our mattress and box spring. The actual cost that was presented after the truck was loaded was $9,975. We had no choice but to accept it since our escrow was closing in 2 days and we were leaving. Obviously, I should have done my homework beforehand because I have subsequently found out that this type of deception is a common practice for this company. Be that as it may, I would have opted to just forgo the bad judgment on my part and their questionable business practices if they had not lost some of our items during the move. Among those missing were ALL of our priceless family photos and mementos from 46 years of marriage. Included in those were some documents such as my college diploma and maste... Read more

This is the Worst Company ( Movers) . They are not professional and they say one thing but they do what they want and not what customer want.

I'm completely shocked by all the bad reviews here. And I just wanted to let everyone know that my move went flawlessly! The whole experience with Hercules including Sam (Sales), the pickup crew, and Daryl the driver who delivered to Cleveland was outstanding! Not one scratch, not one problem and all my belongings were delivered before I even arrived. Fantastic and worry free move. I will recommend Hercules moving Systems to everyone that is moving or thinking of moving.

I wanted to express how satisfied I am with my move and how grateful I am that I chose to go with Hercules Moving Systems. It's always difficult to find a moving company for a good price and feel confident that your belongings will arrive in one piece. I had really great experiences with everyone at Hercules and all of my belongings arrived on time and without any damage! The men that picked up and delivered my things were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient! Thank you for making my move as easy as possible!!!

I recently moved from California to Washington. I was not sure what or who to use and I selected Hercules from a referral from a neighbor. I was a little skeptical at first but my worries were all put to ease. The staff at Hercules were so helpful and made my move so easy. The movers showed up on time and in the hot desert weather made the move look like a breeze. They were so professional and even repacked items that I did a poor job on. My items arrived on the dates that were promised. When the drivers arrived at my home not only were they professional but so careful on placing the items in my home. I was so pleased with this company I would use them again(if I were to move) I have told everyone about this company and encouraged them to use this company

Hercules has been the best moving company I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with a lot. David and the guys were great. They were very professional and courteous. They answered all of my questions and worked quickly and efficiently. everything went extremely well, I was impressed. Everything went smooth, as promised, the delivery was made as schedule. all in all the best moving experience I had so far.

These people are thieves... They "lost" my things... but why were the things that were lost the high priced items. The staff does not give a hoot .... They have bad attitudes once they have your stuff and when they store your things they come back smelling of mold........... I lost over 5k worth of stuff dealing with this company... Lydia is the worst CSR in the world.... I am assuming she is related somehow to the owners as she hangs up on people ... curses at customers and demands information that she has no business knowing... Why does it matter what I do for a living....sad so sad... I feel bad for her as KARMA is 3 fold.... I must say it is funny when you call and say you have someone else's things and they deny that they delivered someones boxes??? When told what was missing from the boxes they reply "how do you know what was taken?"....................craziness pure craziness... Ben may I say you have a silver tongue......... may I also say that 80% of their staff is on ... Read more

Hercules Moving Systems was a horrible experience. Originally they estimated our move at $500.00 over the phone (packing materials included), but when they arrived at our new residence, we were presented with a bill for over $1000.00! They said this larger bill was for hours (not yet worked) and using packing materials that amounted to tape and a few cut up boxes. The hours they claimed for moving time was 9.5hrs but they arrive an hour late (after calling about engine trouble) , and left at 5pm, not counting a 30 minute lunch break (totaling 6.5hrs). Our real complaint with Hercules was that the Supervisor of this move who became argumentative and demonstrative when we challenged him over the bill. He did say that we could reduce the price by giving him some of our possessions, which was very surprising to hear! During the whole time of this argument he had his men stop working and said that if I didn’t sign off on the move, they were going to drive away with everything. In his wo... Read more

I made a big mistake of not going to rateitall.com before picking the movers for my local move. These (Hercules moving system) movers are highly UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE and SUPER OBNOXIOUS. And not to mention very expensive. One of the helper faked sickness and slacked all through out. They wasted a lot of time driving from source and destination, just so that they could bill us an extra one hour. I literally had to beg them to put back what they disassembled. DONOT use these people ... I wud have given less than one star, if i cud.

STAY AWAY from Hercules Moving System, LA! (MC 619135) This company is a NIGHTMARE! My move from LA to the northeast has been plagued with terrible and costly problems. All I needed was a competent, honest, punctual moving company that fulfilled their promises and answered their phone and email. I chose poorly. I did not get any of that. Despite email and phone confirmation – on the day my stuff was to be picked up – no one from Hercules Moving System showed up. I called all day. No one answered any of the phone numbers. A full day and a half late, they showed up. This meant I did not fly out of town to my new job when I was supposed to. I incurred the expense of renting my place an extra day, staying an extra night in a hotel to wait for them, canceling non-refundable plane tickets, and boarding my pets an extra night. No one at Hercules cared despite my proof via the emails they sent that they had showed up a day late. No one apologized. They simply don’t ca... Read more

Firstly I would like to state that I normally "just put up and shut up" about bad service but in this instance I cannot let it go and allow someone else to fall victim to possibly the worse moving experience they will ever know. I was quoted for an "exclusive" move, full truck and packing for a total of $4250.00, thankfully this ensured me the luxury of not being charged anything extra although I certainly didn't need a full truck. They arrived on time and really got busy packing, I should have paid closer attention to how they actually packed my stuff! I was amazed at how quickly they completed the task (not so much now). So I headed off to my destination.... Arizona.... a 5 hour drive from the pick up point in CA. By now you are probably wondering, why is she complaining? Well let me tell you... I am a female, I live alone and I was moving interstate alone with no-one to help me unpack at the other end. The mover and his helper started unloading the biggest boxes I have eve... Read more

My mother and aunt just moved from California to TN. After being told only about a week of waiting until we would get delivery they decided to call and say it would be another 4 days until they could get there. They said there was a gun involved and people needed to eat so that's why the long lay over. Once they finally called to say they were there they gave us 3 hours notice to get there. We had to drive 4 and a half hours to get to where we needed to be to the new place in that time. once we got there they weren't there and they said it would be another 4 hours or so. My mom said that they had to wait then because there new apt does not allow people to move that late at night ( around 11 pm). Now they get here today and refused to move anything without cash in hand and an additional 50 dollars due to there being more than 10 steps ( there were 16 steps) EVEN THOUGH the agreement said it included the first flight of steps for free. Then as they unloaded they wanted us to h... Read more

If you were thinking about using Hercules - THINK AGAIN! I hired them to move me from Los Angeles to Texas and the day of the pickup, the drivers got a parking ticket on my street. I wrote them a check, thinking they'd gotten it because of where I told them to park. Nope. Turns out they parked the ENTIRE moving truck in a fire lane. I was told someone would call me 24 hours in advance of the delivery - they called 3 hours beforehand, so I was unable to meet them and sent my brother instead. Upon delivery, my bed was broken and only HALF my boxes were delivered! I had to call around to find out where my stuff was and the driver said he knew he only delivered half but he just couldn't reach the other stuff. I emailed the company about it and no one bothered to get back to me except to say they'd "fwded the message to a supervisor." Biggest waste of $1000.

I really tried to overlook the bad reviews because they seemed so nice on the phone! Duh!!!! I went through sheer hell! I submitted every box and furniture dimension to ensure a legit price quote, I did get it in the end (Boy, Did I), but, I had to cronically bicker with them. And, I still was losing. They ignored the listed delivery date and tried to deliver a week early, before I was even in the state I was moving to! Then, you can bet you will be paying one of the other fine print fee's like $75. extra if they walk more than three car lengths to your door. $300. more if a 52 ft. truck won't fit your access area. $50. per flight of stairs. And, you don't want them to have to store your things at the delivery point!! Well, my insult to injury was that it was like a crew of monkeys handled my belongings. I had a Stainless Steel BBQ, strong right? They put dents all over it, like it was hit with a bat and parted down the middle, and broke the wheels on bottom. Oddly, dish packs marked ... Read more

On August 16th I called salesperson Gladys regarding a cross country move of items from Los Angeles to New York City. I spoke w/ her at length & she gave me a final price quote of $1155. This quote was based on a detailed list I had compiled of labeled, various, standard size boxes (purchased @ UHAUL/Public Storage- 54 boxes, a medium sized bookshelf & an end table), so it was exact in terms of the number & size of items. She assured me that was the final price both verbally & via email (which I still have on file) as I made it clear to her that I did NOT want any monetary surprises. The LA pick-up was scheduled & I had a friend unlock the storage space for the movers to get in. These movers were NOT from Eagle. They were from Hercules Moving Systems. The 1st thing they told my friend was that it was going to be double the price that Gladys had guaranteed me. I called Gladys & spent no less than an hour on the phone w/ her trying to get information on what had occurred. After the hour ... Read more

BEWARE! Any positive reviews you see here were surely written by the company. They broke many items. They repeatedly lied to me. They were repeatedly late and did not call when they said they would. They were consistently rude on the phone (after they got my money). They stopped returning phone calls as soon as they got money from me. They even lied about their Better Business Bureau rating. Look it up: it is an F, not the B+ they will claim. They are the worst moving experience I have had--and I have moved a lot.

They are crookest of all moving companies. Unfortunately, I was on a tight budget and decided to go with this cheap company. I regret this now after leaving me in tears of frustration. As soon as they arrive, they make you sign this lil box that says that they will pay you .60 cents per pound for lost and damaged items that it is written in boilerplate language and fine print. This is where they con you. They can lose the majority of your things and they are only responsible for paying you .60 cents per pound of damaged items. During transit, my things are transferred from the original truck to another moving truck and of course there are lost items and damaged furniture. I lost over 700 dollars from my medical books that were located in one of the lost boxes and all they are responsible for paying is a misely .60 cents per pound, legally. They are rude over the phone and in person. My movers arrived at my home speaking Hebrew thinking I didnt know the language, which I know mini... Read more

Hercules is terrible! We were supposed to get a call on Saturday August 1st about our pick up time the next day and never received a call. We called them on Sunday the 2nd in the morning and they made a few calls and advised us we'd have our stuff picked up that evening around 5 - 7 PM. Around 8 PM we still hadn't heard or seen anything from Hercules so we called in again and they were closed. We called first thing the morning of the 3rd and were given the number of the driver to make arrangments ourselves, which were delayed by a couple hours but finally they came and got our stuff. In fairness the movers were nice enough, but we were still really agitated at this point. So contractually we, as the customers, are held to all sorts of standards, if they determine we have more than we said we get charged, if they determine we have more stairs then we get charged - however in our contract Hercules only holds itself responsible in two areas, first - they state they will give us continuous... DO NOT USE THEM!!!! All the negative reviews that are here are real and true. They are a scam artist. I had my quote increased by 40% on the day of the move and delivery date delayed for weeks!!!! Do yourself a favor pay more and get real service and real professionals to do the job. I would have to agree with reviews prior to the "oddly high number of perfect reviews"....my girlfriend recently moved across the country by herself, and was slapped in the face with these movers refusing to deliver her stuff upon arrival. 1) Blatant rudeness on the delivery driver who actually said "well your address is not in my GPS, so I cannot find it. You will have to pay $300 to rent a Uhaul and come get your stuff. I will not deliver". -outrageous 2) Customer service would not answer the phone but 1 out of 15 times. The golden answer came with outright bitterness and simply saying "sorry, we cannot help you". The delivery address is on a Major city bus route. You have got to be kidding me... Like all forums, be wary of mass "PERFECT" reviews lumped together. If I were a 3rd rate company, I would probably have the integrity to flood reviews with falseness of superior customer service. Go with another company, spend a few more dollars, cause it will cost you more in ... Read more

Terrible, first they called the day before they were supposed to pick up our stuff and said they wanted to come that day, against our better judgement we said ok, first they said they would give us four hours then they called back and said they would be there in one hour. So we rushed to get everything ready and ended up leaving stuff behind. The driver was very unprofessional and was yelling at his coworker and threw packing tape at him. we were moving from washington state to pennsylvania and told them we wouldnt be in pa until june fourth, the driver called us on june second and wanted to deliver our stuff to our storage unit that day. Then we told them we would need twenty four hours notice for them to deliver our stuff to the storage unit . and we told the driver the storage unit was closed on sunday and they called on sunday and said they wanted to deliver that day. we told them we had to do it on monday, when they did come forty five minutes late on that monday, they called my ... DO NOT USE Hercules!! I had read a lot of poor reviews on them however they were so much cheaper I thought I would just use them. BIG MISTAKE. I was originally going to move within the state however changed my mind to move across the country. I called for a new quote and was told it was the same "no matter where you moved because most of the costs were in the picking up/delivering of the items". I asked how that could be true because of gas costs and she told me again that I didn't need a new quote. Of course when it came time to move my stuff it turns out she lied to me (I had a feeling about this) and I had to pay an extra $300 to get my stuff. When they came to get my stuff they charged me an arm and a leg in packing materials even though everything was already boxed up. Turns out anything you have (desk, dresser, etc) they will not move without it being wrapped in blankets and then covered in tape...I was never told this or I would have bought tape myself instead of being cha... Please do not use this company. I moved from Topanga, CA to Appleton, WI September 2007. The communication between customer service and dispatch and the actual movers was poor. The movers showed up in Topanga at the wrong time with the wrong size of truck, then charged me extra for shuttle service which would not have been necessary had they simply showed up with the proper-sized truck. When my possessions arrived in WI, the movers opened the rear of the truck and possessions tumbled out. My bookshelves were ruined as was my antiquated lamp shape, and my bed frame and CD/DVD/VHS holder were very noticeably scratched. To top it off, I'm still (5/1/09) waiting for them to send me a damage claims form. All in all it stands as one of the very worst experiences in my life thus far. . . . And that statement is not exaggerated.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN - TOTAL CROOKS Unfortunately I didn't do research before hiring these people, but now after my horrendous experience, I read they are rated F by the BBB and the Yelp reviews are unanimously BAD. They routinely give people one quote and then either after loading the truck or upon delivery of the goods, tell the customer another price, usually two times as high or more as the original quote. We were quoted $1,800 for a move of a 1br apt from Bay Area, CA to Iowa. AFTER the truck was loaded, we were given another price of $5,500! We were charged over $800 in packing materials alone and the vast majority of our things were already very well packed. If we had known this was going to be the price, we would have decided to have a garage sale instead. I felt so helpless ... we were moving my 75 yr old mother after she had a stroke and this experience almost gave us both another stroke. Madonnika is a ficticious name made up from a sales rep. for Hercules Moving Systems that could not counter an objection from customers regarding the F rating on the BBB. This is all they can do until the name change,it's coming and will be posted on all moving scam sites. Please read the bad ( truthful) reviews from the 14 bad reviews. With 86% negative reviews do the math buyer beware!!! Hercules has opened a BBB with the San Francisco BBB that has provided a rating that is a B+. Please check the names of the owner it is the same person. Your movers/consultants will still be out of the L.A. facility with the F rating. I moved from CA to TX and had to have my furniture stored for 2 months by Hercules. When they came out, they gave me a great overview of how this would work and that my household would be well taken care of...in fact they said I did not need additional insurance - well it was a NIGHTMARE and they LIED. Every single piece of furniture and every lamp (8 total) was damaged to some degree or another - many items broken and had to be thrown out. They lost a couple of boxes with my items, and when they finally arrived in TX with my things, the people they brought with them did not speak English and the Hercules rep sat in the truck cab as it was a hot day. Eventhough my boxes were labeled as to which room they belonged in, they ended up in the wrong places - I was left to deal with the mess. Also, they got some kind of grease on the boxes and that ended up in my house also. I filed a complaint and they determined that all the damage was worth $400 - what a joke - NEVER AGAIN! Moving companies have a bad reputation for bait-and-switch style business where the cost or time of moving is grossly underestimated by the salespeople, then jacked-up after they have gained possession of your property. I choose Hercules after seeing their multiple websites and the positive reviews by MG1977 and Douglas. However, after contracting this company, I've spent the last month in an empty apartment despite the fact that my furniture was scheduled to be delivered three weeks ago. I realize now that all of the positive reviews were written by dummy-accounts by owners of the company; most of which were registered on the same day. Describing my experience won't do me any good. They have my property and may never actually deliver it. I've checked with a lawyer, and there's basically nothing I can do because of their contract terms. Nevertheless, I feel that I have to do what's right, and prevent anyone else from being taken in by these schweelers.

Well, as several of the other comments have stated, this company appeared to be a decent, legit and above all professional moving firm. Looking through the online testimonials, as the hero of the web that I am, I based my decision on these alone. Bad idea. I should probably have tried to get a hold of some of their previous real customers, as I am still sitting in my empty Boston apartment while their rude customer support with clearly no motivation to help anyone keeps giving me new delivery dates every time I call, on a shipment first scheduled to arrive several weeks ago. I have mixed feelings about the delivery, as I on one hand would be glad to finally get my stuff back, while on the other hand I am nervous to see if, 1; all my items arrive, and 2; if it is all still intact. I had a lawyer friend of the family look over the contract (which I should have done before I decided on using this travesty of a company), and it turns out the contract in many ways removes them from any kind... My problem with Hercules Moving Systems all started when I changed the date of my pickup from the original date of 7/11/08 to 7/15/08. I was told that because of the date I wanted my things to arrive wasn't until the 1st of August it would be better to change the date of my pickup to the 15th of July so that my things would arrive either on the 1st of Aug or within that first week. My move was from California to Georgia. I was given the standard time frame of 7-16 business days as well. Also being informed that it doesn't take that long. So do to that I was under the impression that my things would arrive within a reasonable time. I called Hercules Moving Systems on 7/31/08 and was told that my things were sitting in the Bay Area Storage facility and that they were waiting on the truck to come and pick them up on 8/1/08. I was told then that my things would be here within 5 to 7 days of the 1st. It's now the 8th and I called them today and yet again was told that my things are still in... Read more

At first Hercules Moving Systems appeared to be a great company. I did my research and they had decent reviews. The problems all started when the movers came to get my things. First, on the day of pick-up they arrived 4 hours late. My move was from California to Virginia and I was given a large time frame of 7-16 business days for delivery. I was promised however that the time frame was only a formality and I should get my things in Virginia no later than 2 weeks. It took them 2.5 weeks just to get my things on a truck that headed East. I would call the dispatcher's office everyday and was told a new story each time. I kept being told my things are coming only for them not to arrive. It has been a month since I have seen my boxes/furniture and still have no idea when I will see them again. If you actually want your things to arrive within a resonable time frame and you don't want to hear never-ending excuses, then definately do not use Hercules Moving Systems.
