I'm 17. Let's be reasonable, the alcoholic beverages would probably be the only reason I would ever go camping in the first place...

This is definitely not necessary, but definitely worthwhile.

Might bring a little to toast some success, but not essential to good camping fun. Besides, the animals will run from you faster if you reek of booze, rather that just of your normal aroma. :)

I was never one for camping, but during my teenaged years, I moved from urban north NJ to rural central Jersey, and became friendly with 2 guys who were very much into camping (as it turned out, only one of the guys was an experienced camper). We cooked something in a contraption he called a "dutch over" and we drank a ton of booze while listening to a Meatloaf tape (he was new at the time, and I was NOT a fan, but the copious amounts of booze and the drunken fellowship somehow made him more palatable to me). Something high-test  like Baccardi 151 Proof, so that you can maximize your enjoyment without carrying a lot of bulk and the 151 proof is great for stasrting the fire too.  Camping tip: Rum and Hot Chocolate are tasy together, if you drink enough of it.
