What Rebate?

I think I bought a happy meal with it..

 As BIll Maher said, the "stimulus check" is kinda like shooing away the bum who attempts to wash your windshield by giving him a buck..."go away...just go away...."

A dear friend told me her CPA advised her to spend nothing, since the stimulus check was money carried forward from 2008 returns.  It's like the government borrowing money from us to give back to us.  I thought this was a form of "kiting." 

Don't have ours yet, but it's all going to either be A) credit card debt or B) towards a downpayment for a house.  Either way, I'm afraid that it'll do very little to "kick-start the economy".  

I'll paraphrase something else I've read online (I'm afraid I cannot claim credit for this one):  What's the point of the stimulus check?

*If you spend it at Wal-Mart, it all goes to China.
*If you spend it at the Gas Pump, it all goes to OPEC.
*If you spend it on your computer, it's going to India
*If you spend it on a fuel-efficient car, it goes to Japan.  

 . . . so, apparently the only thing that we can do to keep the funds in America is spend it on hookers and beer, because that's all the businesses we have here that's 100% American.

Not for me.   I get all the federal checks I need from Social Security.  Thanks, America!

I don't have mine yet, but I can tell you this. When I do get it, it's going to go on some very badly needed necessities.

Getting a bit back but nothing to get excited about.

Yeah, I don't have squat yet.

I only made 6000 bucks working part time in the first half of the year. still haven't got a rebate check,heck I don't know if Im entitled to one or not.I did get back my federal income tax returns.
