I don't know about it being vindictive, but I've done it to poke back at people I know do it to me on posts that aren't the least bit funny. Still just as silly as when they do it, but I won't give lame excuses to justify it.

It is a self induced illusion that voting funny may cause damage to the reviewer. In reality, it damages the voter, since he/she is unable to control an irrational and ridiculous impulse of wanting to inflict damage even when knowing it is useless.

No, when I'm trying to be vindictive I'm a lot more direct than clicking a button.

Trust me, when I'm in that state of mind my target seldom has any doubt of my intent.

heck, I deal with enough vindictive people in my "real life" and have seen it on other sites. would have to reason to be vindictive here. just give opinions and that's it.

For some reason, hitting "Funny" just doesn't strike me as appealing to someone actually trying to get even for something.
