The opposite of faith is not unbelief, it is fear. That's because both faith and fear are focused on the future, the realm of the unknown. Fear cancels out faith because it freeze us in our tracks. Fear is overcome by faith in the God who knows the future. (Add picture)

Just human nature. Those who lack fear tend to get killed before they get kids. Multiply that over 20,000 generations, and you get the anxiety-ridden wreck that is modern man. Some people find that Jesus helps; others prefer heroin. I stick to vodka and cigarettes.

To each his own...

I just can't give a nonchalant answer to this. I have known absolute terror in my life. If you can say you have no fear, more power to you. I can'tmake that statement. Like most people, I find that the older I get, the more honest I can be about this. In the Biblical sense, when you do have strong faith, you do find courage to fight your fears, especially about dying and the afterlife.

Fear is nothing more than our reaction facing the unknown. But when you put your trust in the One who has all things under control and wants the best for you, there is really not much left to fear about. I know, it takes time and perseverance to control our instincts but keeping things in the right perspective will help us control fear.

"Fears have to be faced. Face your own fears. Remember that, I said that last time. Face your fears!...don't run away!!"...anyway, this was quoted from San Andreas games nerds radio conversation. But what shall I say, man himself create his won fears, and God can't do anything about it. But if you ask God to help you turn your fears into peace, then it's really peace itself. To create fear, is when a man turns an ally into a mortal enemy. Turning peace treaty into conflict. That is how fear is created.

The Lord is always with us. A while back I was very depressed and the Scripture verse above really spoke to my heart. When we fall or fail Christ is always there to brush us off, pick us up and lovingly hold us in is arms. All we have to do is ask him to help us. Don't be afraid to ask for his help. He is there waiting; he desires to help us. He loves us more than we will ever know or understand.

I totally agree that Fear and Faith go hand in hand. One is regularly used to justify the other.

As Imorovan said, fear and fatih go hand and hand. Too many people say that they FEAR they have done the wrong thing ~ that's not fear, that's doubt. The only thing to fear is fear itself!! (Yes, I'm stealing that line).
