Jehovah Witnesses

A derivative religion from Millerites and Adventists, founded in 1876, denies the doctrine of the Trinity and claim that Jesus is the Son of God separated from the Father.

Truthfully, these freak me out. I had always heard stories about them. I was in Hollywood and opened the door and saw two black guys and it was for that. I was pretty surprised. It did remind me to be more careful. I made an excuse on it.
All of the differences on the religion are ok to me. It may be ok. I don't know myself about the doctrine of the trinity anyway.

Jehovah's Witnesses are so constructive in their teachings and they will always give you Biblical reference to anything they will teach you. All the publications they distribute and use for conducting Home Bible studies are up to the point and dig deep into the Christian faith.

Jehovah's Witnesses is the only Christian Organization that i know whose teachings and faith is not similar or common. Take a look at some of their beliefs and teachings:
1. No Hell Fire
2. True Christian's are Not Part of the world so they don't take part in political affairs of the world - Being Neutral
3. Dead people are buried and from then on they wait for resurrection
4. Earth will be a paradise
5. Christ's 1000 year reign begins after Armageddon and ends with anhillation of Satan and his accomplices
6. only 144000 go to heaven to rule with Christ for 1000 years
7. Only one true religion exists
8. False religion will be destroyed to mark the beginning of Armageddon
9. All witnesses are publisher's of the good news
10. All are brothers and sisters
11. etc

My personal examination of these teachings and others has revealed to me a great sense of truth and logic reasoning. As a matter of fact purely and clearly stated their is no religion over the world that ascribe to these kind of teachings and this make Jehovah's Witnesses a one and only unique religion through out the world.

So to a larger extent i support these course and surely believe that as the witnesses put it "their is only one way leading to everlasting life"

Like evangelicals, they believe:
*the Bible is accurate
*Mary was a virgin
*Christ died for mankinds sins
*Satan has a huge influence in the world
*Genesis was literal, evolution is fiction
*Homosexuals=bad
*Pre-marital sex=bad
*Abortion=bad

Unlike your average evangelical, they believe:
>The kingdom of heaven occurred in 1914 when Christ was throned as eternal king. This was Jesus' second coming
>After Christ ascended into heaven in 30 CE, 144,000 were chosen throughout the centuries. There are about 8,500 left.
>They are unitarian rather than trinitarian.
>Very soon the battle of Armageddon will begin. (Are you ready?)
>After 1,000 years, Satan and his minions will be released on earth for a short period of time. Then they, and their followers, will be destroyed.
>They reject the traditional view of Hell

The solicitation method that they use apparently works, they get a large number of members to join annually. But they also have a very high turnover rate.
This review was just a very basic thumbnail sketch, the religion itself is way more complex.

Jehovah's Witnesses are sincere and respectful evangelists who seem to have my best interest at the heart of their efforts when they occasionally knock on my door.

In my experience, they have always been far less intrusive than other types of evangelical Christians who made proselytization a constant part of interaction with me, despite the obvious futility of their attempts.

In contrast, friends I had growing up who were Jehovah's Witnesses never brought up religion unsolicited, and responded with kindness and patience when asked about their faith, however rude or intolerant the questions may have been.

Some of them may very well be nice and sincere people, but that doesn't change how I feel about their religion, which is totally false and not in line with God's Word.

Besides, they don't celebrate anything. What fun is that?? Sounds a bit dull to me.

I'm sure that there is some wonderful people in this organization. But, I do not believe the way they do. The thing that is most irritating is when they come up to my door, and I tell them I already go to church somewhere else, and they continue with their spiel. Some of them are very persistent, and I had one one time do something that was very uncalled for, putting their foot in the door so I couldn't shut it. That's what I call stepping over the line.

A simple read of JW's doctrinal statements, should enlighten most that this is far from a biblical scriptural basis and purely made up by many men's delusions. It's simple, Christ came down to save everyone from their sins, that they may have the perfect sacrifice to atone for their sin! We are to ask God for forgiveness and live in obedience to his will and use Gods word as a standard or guide for our lives. We should neither add or take away from the Bible but accept it and allow God to stimulate our souls with it!!! We are to endeavor to live the life Christ did and through Christ give up self! It is sad to see so many fooled by a doctrine, that has been manipulated to mans wants and scripture dissolved for a "Selfish Godly gain!" I could go on to explain how most of what JW's believe is blasphemy, but that would be yet another Christians slant on why there are false religions and faiths! Hey all you have to do is read the Bible and most will see through the lies of this world! I will say one thing for the Jw's, they do know how to illustrate their faith in literature well!!!!!

Every true Christian Church celebrates the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Cult counterfeits don't!

This is for anyone out there who wants the genuine essentials of true Christian doctrine not the counterfeit revision.

What the Genuine Original Greek and Hebrew Scriptures stated:
Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".
Revelation 7:9 all may enter Heaven who call upon Jesus name and sincerely receive Him as their Lord and Savior, that number is too great to be counted.

John 1:12
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"
(the name of Jesus)

(In other words God gave the right to become Sons of God for those who genuinely believed in this name- Jesus)!

Acts 4:12
"Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved. "
(the name is Jesus)

The Trinity
John 10:30

Proof in Scripture Jesus is God
Colossian 1:15 He is the visible image of the invisible God.
John 1:1
Hebrews 1:18
John 20:28
Philippians 2:9-11
Col.1:17
"In Him all things Hold together"
(other translation from the Authorized Versions say, "In him all things exist").

John 1:4

John 20:28
Thomas said "My Lord & My God".

The Personality & Deity of the Holy Spirit
John 14:26

His Virgin Birth
Isaiah 7:14

Incarnation
1st Timothy 3:16
Why God sent Jesus into the World
John 3:16

That Jesus had a bodily Resurrection
Luke 24:36
1st Corinthian 15:14

His Visible return to earth (second coming)
Acts 1:11

JW have re-worded (changed) the original Greek and Hebrew text that the authorized Bible was written from, to deny that Jesus is one with God & also God as written in the Gospel of John 1st Chapter.
They added "a" god and put the 'g" in lower case in the 1800's there's is NOT the original manuscript written 2,000 yrs. ago which was given to the early Church!

The 144,000 in Heaven is explained (as in the genuine Bible) as Jews, not JW's or Gentiles because God keeps His promise to His Chosen OT Covenant people. There are many prophecies in Isaiah, Jeremiah and through out the Old Testament that God will not forget the Jews but that the Messiah (Jesus) would be born from the lineage of King David whose Kingdom would have no end.

Jews still await the Messiah. Messianic Jews await the Return of Christ Jesus as their Messiah.
In Revelation the 12,000 are from each of the Jewish 12 tribes which totals 144,000.
The 12 Jewish Tribes are even spelled out by name.

The Authorized & Accredited Versions are always legit. Do your research to find out which ones are from the original Greek and Hebrew from 2,000 years ago to the early Church.

Those Scriptures in the Genuine Bible text speak for itself without any further rebuttal.

I try to maintain a certain degree of "respect" for the various religions (even if, privately, I'm contemptuous) there are, but when you have to come knocking on my front door with your nonsense-- Brother, that's all she wrote. The first time, I answered the door in a towel (having just taken a shower) and an older guy accompanied by his very, very young son started in on his spiel. In deference to the young boy, I didn't tell the guy to f himself and slam the door in his face, but it was very uncomfortable. The kid obviously would have rather been anywhere else. Finally, I told the guy to give me his literature and I'd read it later, as...obviously...I wasn't "dressed" for this particular discussion. Of course, said "literature" went right into my circular file. Now, several years later, I don't maintain even a pretension of politeness or civility. To me, it's the height of gall to proselytize people who haven't invited you to share your religious convictions (if they work for you-- fine, but don't bother me unless I request your help; although, considering there are at least a dozen or so churches, synagogues, temples, chapels, etc., in every city and town across the country and much of the world, why would I have to?), or to knock on the door of their personal residence some early morning or afternoon. Just this past Easter, 2 guys dressed like Fuller Brush salesmen were going door to door in my neighborhood. Luckily for them, I was away when they knocked on mine. My birth mother tells them, "I'm Catholic; Don't bother me again" before shutting the door. Me? I just shut the door now, and they should count themselves lucky that I don't curse them out as I do so. Once, on a Memorial Day, I was sitting in my car in a cemetery when several of them approached me to hand me their literature. I have to say that that was one occasion where I was rendered speechless. Not even in a cemetery are you safe from their intrusion! I used to work with a guy from Brooklyn who was married to a Jehovah's Witness. He had 3 kids, and he told them, "If you get into an accident, and you need a blood transfusion, you better call me and not your mother. If you call your mother, you're going to bleed to death, understand?" As I say with nearly any religion, whacky or not-so-whacky--- If you as an adult want to involve yourself in it...fine...but why subject your young kids to such horseshit?

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated byAbdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Leave the Abyssinians alone as long as they leave you alone, for it is only the Abyssinian with short legs who will seek to take out the treasure of the Ka'bah. (HR.Hasan, Abu Daud (4309), Ash Shahihah (772)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Ubadah ibn as-Samit The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I have told you so much about the Dajjal (Antichrist) that I am afraid you may not understand. The Antichrist is short, hen-toed, woolly-haired, one-eyed, an eye-sightless, and neither protruding nor deep-seated. If you are confused about him, know that your Lord is not one-eyed. (HR.Abu Daud (4320), Qishash Dajjal, Al Misykah (5485) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abu Hurayrah The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace be upon him). He will descent (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him. (HR.Abu Daud (4324), Qishshah Ad Dajjal, Ash Shahihah (2182) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Fatimah, daughter (binti) of Qays The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) once delayed the congregational night prayer. He came out and said: The talk of Tamim ad-Dari detained me. He transmitted it to me from a man who was on of of the islands of the sea. All of a sudden he found a woman who was trailing her hair. He asked: Who are you? She said: I am the Jassasah. Go to that castle. So I came to it and found a man who was trailing his hair, chained in iron collars, and leaping between Heaven and Earth. I asked: Who are you? He replied: I am the Dajjal (Antichrist). Has the Prophet of the unlettered people come forth now? I replied: Yes. He said: Have they obeyed him or disobeyed him? I said: No, they have obeyed him. He said: That is better for them. (HR.Abu Daud (4325), Qishash Ad Dajjal, Muslim) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated byAbdullah ibn Umar Nafi' told that Ibn Umar used to say: I swear by Allah that I do not doubt that Antichrist is Ibn Sayyad. (HR.Abu Daud (4330) Shahih Mauquf) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir told that he saw Jabir ibn Abdullah swearing by Allah that Ibn as-Sa'id was the Dajjal (Antichrist). I expressed my surprise by saying: You swear by Allah! He said: I heard Umar swearing to that in the presence of the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him), but the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) did not make any objection to it. (HR.Shahih:Abu Daud 4331, Muttafaq ‘ilaih) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abu Bakr You people recite this verse "You who believe, care for yourselves; he who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly-guided," and put it in its improper place. Khalid's version has: We heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: When the people see a wrongdoer and do not prevent him, Allah will soon punish them all. Amr ibn Hushaym's version has: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: If acts of disobedience are done among any people and do not change them though the are able to do so, Allah will soon punish them all. (HR.Shahih, Abu Daud (4338)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If any man is among a people in whose midst he does acts of disobedience, and, though they are able to make him change (his acts), they do not change, Allah will smite them with punishment before they die. (HR.Hasan, Abu Daud (4339)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'Ash The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: How will you do when that time will come? Or he said: A time will soon come when the people are sifted and only dregs of mankind survive and their covenants and guarantees have been impaired and they have disagreed among themselves and become thus, interwining his fingers. They asked: What do you order us to do, Apostle of Allah? He replied: Accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs and leave alone the affairs of the generality. (HR.Shahih, Abu Daud (4342)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'Ash When we were around the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him), he mentioned the period of commotion (fitnah) saying: When you see the people that their covenants have been impaired, (the fulfilling of) the guarantees becomes rare, and they become thus (interwining his fingers). I then got up and said: What should I do at that time, may Allah make me ransom for you? He replied: Keep to your house, control your tongue, accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs, and leave alone the affairs of the generality. (HR.Hasan Shahih: Abu Daud (4343), Ash Shahihah (205, 888, 1535)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The best fighting (jihad) in the path of Allah is (to speak) a word of justice to an oppressive ruler. (HR.Shahih, Abu Daud (4344)) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Al Urs bin Amirah al-Kindi The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When sin is done in the earth, he who sees it and disapproves of it will be taken like one who was not present, but he who is not present and approves of it will be like him who sees. (HR.Abu Daud (4345), Al Misykah (5141) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Abu Tsa'labah al-Khusyani The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah will not fail to detain this community for less than half a day. (HR.Shahih:Abu Daud (4349), Ash Shahihah (1643) Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith Narrated by Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqqas The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I hope my community will not fail to maintain their position in the sight of their Lord if He delays them half a day. Sa'd was asked: How long is half a day? He said: It is five hundred years. (HR.Shahih, Abu Daud (4350))

There aren't too many things in the world harder to do than cold call sales. To use this method to sell your religious beliefs seems to be a daunting task indeed. While I can't agree with most of their views, I respect them greatly for their sincere attempts to present what they believe to a wider, generally uncaring public.

With their bizarre ban on enjoyment and backward views on medicine, this may be one of the more mentally and physically dangerous of the so-called religions based on creative gospel hacking.  So far out in left field they apparently have to continue to hawk it door to door hoping to catch someone young, searching and naïve.  This one is both sad and scary.

Door to Door Jesus..just not cool annoying at best offensive at worst. after reading a former JW's blog their brainwashing guilt tripping ministry tactics put young impressionable minds at risk and in unsafe unsanitary conditions. They seem to have a fundamentalist agenda..and a very cultish proile..ther profit founder has absolutely no credibility, and was a bad example of piety. Anyone who knows a devout JW knows they have nothing of value to discuss in religion beyond their dogma..which is all they want to discuss. Their View of Heaven or the Kingdom on earth is put mildly fanciful and bears no resemblence to sanity. Their explanations for the day of resurrection and doomsday dishonors the presumable wisdom of the divine. When put in perspective of their beliefs about heaven on Earth, their heavy preaching efforts seem very pointless. They describe a picture book paradise that is socially irrelevant to simple and advanced populations alike and the concepts make the total disintegration in the fire they preach about seem almost preferable.

Wouldn't it be better to never tell anyone about your religion if you believ that a set number of people are allowed into heaven and that's it. I could be taking your place. And where would that leave you?

More possible than other religions. not quite focused on proving what happens after death, but more on how you should act. keeps people happy and from killing eachother. more successful than christians.
