Somehow I don't think this will work. That is why there are so many religious wars and why people have been turned off Christianity - because they are acting no different from the wold. The world can criticise and reject, and we are to be the opposite to this world. Eventhough, there is a time and place for this. This is true if in a church, someone continues to do a very serious sin and are not sorry. An example is in 1 Corinthians where someone in the church was having a romantic, sexual relationship with another family member (incest.) Paul told the church to judge this couple and reject them and treat them like an enemy until they truly repent.0

Tball: Look, the reason I have decided to back off on this winless debate with Ralph is that the the Bible states in 2 Timothy 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. I can give you dates and timelines, but so can history (and they will back different documents depending on which you believe are truly from God). Ralph believes in a cult, Tball, you don't believe at all........... Tball, you have judged me now and had your say, I hope you feel better about yourself... Ralph: I AM GOING TO SHOW MERCY TO THOSE IN THE WORLD OF RATE-IT-ALL AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! I DISAGREE WITH YOU, YOU DISGREE WITH ME, SO BE IT! ............................................................................Ralph, look with all of the evidence (LOL) you have given me, which is false by the way, you continue on with this... WHY??? I have told you during the early days the scriptures were altered by followers of your cult, you even know that. They did not want to accept that Jesus was who he said he was, they were afraid of the truth. Ralph you are not going to shake my faith in Jesus or God, so give up!!!!........ Wow, Ralph that was something, You can believe your altered babyalonian version of Biblical times if you want, but I choose Jesus, enough said........ Ralph, your trash talk continues, let me say it one more time... You are always telling everyone what they believe but you never tell us what you believe. So, tell us about how after Christ was killed (for your sins by the way) how the greek scriptures were altered to validate your cult doctrine...................... Eschew Obfuscation, good point but when it comes to our faith these are not just our views this is our way of life. And, when someone mocks your faith or your God it hurts, that I guess shows we are human. Update 3: PLEASE...Ralph this is such a stretch even for you, Deuteronomy 13:1-6 was not talking about Jesus it was talking about false prophets like the ones in the Noahide/Mason Cult for example. UPDATE 2: TBALL, In this verse, the Lord teaches His apostles that the cross will not be the end of Him; in fact, it will lead Him to ultimate glory. And He shows them that that glory will be realized in their lifetime! They were thus to be encouraged. Their discipleship was no pie in the sky endeavour; it was heading for a definite and glorious culmination! The Lord promised His disciples that they would see the Son of man coming in his kingdom (Matthew 16:28). Before we deal with what this means, let's just say that we are often just like the apostles: we also often require the encouragement that these disciples received. Why? Because the call to discipleship is demanding. It is a daily death march, requiring a man to deny himself, and take up his cross [a symbol of death], and follow [Christ] (Matthew 16:24). It is a dangerous path, for we are sent forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, requiring us to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). It is often a divisive path, for Christ did not come to send peace on earthbut a sword (Matthew 10:34). I pray that God will open your eyes to the truth. UPDATE: Daccory it's true, the Bible says it will happen and it does. I have experienced this on Rate-It-All as well as through out my life. And yes, those who hate Christ also hate those who follow him. I really don't care though, if people criticize me or reject me for my faith, it shows me I'm on the right track with God. Daccory, if you are not a Christian then you can't understand, so what is utter nonsense to you is fulfillment of God's word to me... ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Criticism and rejection for serving Christ comes with it. Those who hate Christ, also hate Christians. 6

Ralph not only forwards his arguments soundly and clearly, he buttresses his position with dates, names, places and accurate timelines. He has obviously done his homework. Donovan, for you to dismiss Ralph's scholarship as false without any attempt at support for your charge destroys your credibility. If you are going to make a charge, have the courage and integrity to back it up. More and more of us have decided to look beneath the surface of religion, and not just accept the veneer at face value anymore. The minute you drop your suspension of disbelief, and make an honest attempt at researching the origin and evolution of the Christian religion and its texts, you'll see it for what it IS, not what you have been told or BELIEVE it to be. Use the same critical eye with the BIBLE that you would have analyzing the KORAN, that is what we have done. You might then be in for an awakening of a different kind, one which emphasizes REASON over FAITH.0

Try as I may, I don't understand the baiting and arguing about religion, or how worked up some people get about the exchange of views. Adults really ought to be able, especially in an anonymous forum, to exchange views calmly and respectfully. 1

Donovan, I AM a Christian and as such it certainly does not give me the right to judge the way another person of God's creation lives his life. I think this it whatt causes people to attack evangelical Christians, because they can't stop judging people. Universal law states that what you believe in you will experience..if you feel people who are not Christian hate Christ, that is what you will notice. 4

Someone forgot to read the passage where Christ says that No man knows the time or place, not the angels, nor the Son, but only the Father. Anyways, our best witness is our daily walk. Words mean nothing without action backing them up. Therefore, let's hold ourselves to Christ's example with every word and deed.2
