Ever since I watched Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure, where a fortune teller told Pee Wee that his bike was in the basement and he made the trip only to discover the Alamo does not have a basement, I have had a minor fascination with this place. It did not disappoint. I will however say that the main building - the one you see on the postcards and in the picture above - is very small; maybe 1000 square feet. The outside area larger, maybe the equivalent of 1.5 city blocks. Such history here in such a small place; I was also surprised that it is located right downtown. I had always pictured it being in a field somewhere.

Pretty cool deal. They converted what would be a plain old river in most city's to the 2nd top tourist attraction in San Antonio. There is a stretch of river running through the city that has a nice walking path along each side and several great restaurants and a few nice hotels right connecting to it.

Fantastic school
I stumbled upon this school via a search for local karate instruction. My 7-yr old took the the staff immediately, and I have seen a wonderful transformation. Besides an increase in fitness level, he now also has a better sense of confidence and determination. The instructors truly exemplify personal and community development in everything they say and do. The students have plenty of fun but also learn to become socially-conscious individuals. I couldn't be happier to have found this school.

I’ve never been a big fan of dentist. But I really loved this office. I went in for a tooth extraction last week. I was in sooooo much pain! But they really did a great job making the experience less painful. The nurses were very sweet and helpful, the office was clean and comfy, and the doctor did great work. It was clear his number one concern was making sure I was comfortable and pain free during the procedure. He and the nurse even made me laugh to the point of tears. A feat, I assure you is hard with a toothache. Recovery time for me was quick and they provided me with a couple pain relievers to get by just in case. If you need some work done, definitely give them a call.
