It’s sad but true. I have become that crazy dad from that movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. But instead of swearing by Windex, I swear by castor oil. I use it on everything from pimples to toothaches. Lol. But I purchased it for hair care. After years of braiding I wrecked my temples and lost a lot of hair. The JBCO has done wonders growing it back. I can already see the little sprouts of hair growing back at my temples and the nape of my neck. It also helps me tame the dandruff and moisture issues with my scalp. Best stuff ever. It’s really thick, but my skin absorbs it quick, so I don’t have to worry about it dripping everywhere like with other oils.

This is the only styling product that I use right now. It is light on my hair, has a great smell, and really helps my curl pattern to pop. It’s also a great way to keep my style moisturized. The one and only down side I have found is that when I use it in my two strand twist, the twist don’t last as long. It has to be used with a gel if you want your twist and/or twist out to last more than three days. I used to flinch about the price (nearly $10 at Walgreens.) but once I saw how great it was on my hair, I made peace with the cost and by it two at a time.

I’m sorry it took me so long to try this stuff. In the end, it took my mother giving me a free cup full to really get me hooked. I think the best thing about the stuff is that it’s versatile. I can use it plain and I can mix it with oils and other creams. I mostly use it as the “C” in my L.O.C moisturizing method. (Liquid, Oil, Cream)The only down side is that I can’t find it in stores. The only place I find it lately is Amazon. But that’s okay since they sell a big tub of it for only a few bucks.

This is, without a doubt, my all-time best deep conditioner! I use it at least once a week to keep a handle on my hair breakage. I divide my hair into fours and apply a generous amount to each section. Then I put on a shower cap, and wrap my hair up in a towel for about an hour (or as long as it takes to watch an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Lol) . Then I rinse it out. I can already see that my hair feels healthier and stronger. It has a wonderful citrus smell too. Over the last three months of use I can see that my hair has come a long way from the weak stuff it used to be. I swear by this stuff! Look it up on Amazon.

As a black woman, I can admit to a little skepticism about using certain brands on my natural hair. But I had heard good things about the Aussie Moist conditioner and decided to give it a shot. Over all I’m very satisfied with it! I’ve been using it for my weekly co-wash (washing the hair with conditioner instead of shampoo) and it has yet to let me down. It smells great and keeps my hair nice and hydrated. I especially love that it comes in a pump bottle, which is very convenient while washing in the shower. Great product.

Let me start by saying that, in general, I love Shea Moisture Products. However, I was very disappointed in this shampoo. When I first used it on my natural black hair, I was immediately disappointed by how dry my hair felt. As I massaged it into my hair and scalp, I could feel my hair actually drying up. I thought I had done something wrong. But after giving it a try a couple more times (over several weeks) I’m left with the conclusion that it’s simply the product. Even with a Pre-Poo treatment (Conditioning the natural hair before washing to prevent dryness) it still dried my hair out. The only two good things I can say about the product, is that one, it smelled very nice, and two, it did get my hair clean. In conclusion, my search for a great shampoo for my fro continues….

I’ve never been a big fan of dentist. But I really loved this office. I went in for a tooth extraction last week. I was in sooooo much pain! But they really did a great job making the experience less painful. The nurses were very sweet and helpful, the office was clean and comfy, and the doctor did great work. It was clear his number one concern was making sure I was comfortable and pain free during the procedure. He and the nurse even made me laugh to the point of tears. A feat, I assure you is hard with a toothache. Recovery time for me was quick and they provided me with a couple pain relievers to get by just in case. If you need some work done, definitely give them a call.
