I'm a guy from Letchworth, United Kingdom
About me: I am a 19-year-old Englishman who has been lingering around this website for a fair few years now and thought now would be as good a time as any to return.
While I may no longer possess a worrying obsession with Star Wars, my passion for music, philosophy, politics, football and religion still remains.
My hippy-like appearance betrays my political views, which are generally from the right, although I feel like I'm leaning further and further left every day.

They are most certainly biased, however not without reason. They quite clearly take sides on subjects such as Israel-Palestine, American imperialism and human suffering - famine, drought and the like. They have a remarkably enlightened viewpoint for a state-owned network in a theocratic state - they are pro-choice, pro-gay and pro-democracy, not to mention pro-women's rights, without the revolting partisanship and fear-mongering that comes with most western news stations.

"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction."

I have always wondered this too and was hoping somebody would explain it - maybe it's one of those things that you only understand once you have it.

I am firmly of the opinion that 'love' on the internet is an entirely fictitious concept, only marketed as such to wring money out of the romantically unlucky.

That said, I have never personally looked for love on the internet and I know some people who have and they swear by it, so what do I know I suppose?

Tumultuous times at Man Utd - the seemingly immortal Ferguson has finally stepped aside, leaving the long-awaited heir apparently David Moyes to take the reins.

There are questions being asked on all sides - will Man Utd's apparent invincibility and ability to pull a game back from nowhere fade along with the old tyrant or is no man bigger than the club? Will Moyes ever emerge from his predecessor's shadow? And what of Rooney's future?

Man Utd are certainly in the running for the Premier League title, even if the road ahead is rockier than they are used to. I predict a huge panic and a lot of vitriol towards Moyes (particularly from younger fans) after their trademark slow start, before the usual recovery in January and cooler heads to prevail with a finish in the top two.

Southampton are a very promising side with some reasonably young talent playing excellent football at a very high standard. There have been question marks about their defence, but the likes of Shaw, Yoshida, Schneiderlin and Clyne coming of age and the signing of Lovren should help put paid to that.
I hope they can progress on a frankly fantastic debut season as they are a very entertaining side whose style of football puts experienced Premier League teams such as Villa and Stoke (arguably West Ham) to shame.

Sanctimonious dimwits who think jumping on a non-existent footballing high horse is vindication for their team going very slowly but consistently backwards for an entire decade. They have now unquestionably been surpassed by Chelsea and Man City; looking at some of Tottenham's recent acquisitions suggests that the slide might not be over for Arsenal...

If Roger Ebert can learn to love this wildly gesticulating lump, then surely we can all find it in our hearts to accept him.

Obviously I've never been there and my most of my 'knowledge' of the country is based on rumour, but I was under the impression that:

If you toe the party line - not that dangerous at all
If you don't - death or slavery
