Mon Jun 12 2006I had become very comfortable with the old format, learning to navigate around those few things I didn't like or couldn't figure out. I had a bit of trouble routining myself (aha! a new verb) into the new configuration so I withheld judgment. It's official, I like the new better. It's more logical and faster to get around. Now, if the current spate of whiny liberal chest-puffing is an outgrowth of the new format, I rescind my previous compliments, but if it's just happenstance that the liberal cacophony now dominates the website, it was a change for the better.

Mon Jun 12 2006I actually dont mind the new home page. It is clear, bold and the bigger writing is actually handy here. I felt that on the old design, although it was more compact, it was like it was too cluttered. They tried to fit too much information into a small amount of space. The thing I like about the new home page is it gives you more options and explains what they are eg explains what the blog is.

Thu Jun 08 2006Its a little flashier then what we old timers are used to. It is an improvement but I have to say I hate the mustard yellow thats on ever page.

Wed Jun 07 2006I'll agree with minkey on this one. I refrained from posting about this early on, as I figured my opinion would change once I got used to navigation and new features (which it did). I find it easier to find things that might interest me without as much work...yea, I'm lazy :)

Wed Jun 07 2006I'm into the new home page now that I'm accustomed to it. There's so many more topics listed. In the old site you might have had to do some digging to find something that caught your eye.

Tue Apr 25 2006VASTLY improved. The "tweekings" worked. Now the whole site has improved graphics and, at least from my perspective, "makes sense" and is user friendly. This is 300% better than what we were using yesterday. I take back every negative thing I said on this list previously (based upon the current improvements). Well done, Magellan.

Wed Apr 19 2006There was no need to change anything. Now everything is too big!

Wed Apr 19 2006I agree with ih8, don't like the new set up. Unattractive, illogical and difficult to navigate. There are plenty of blog sites out there where I can add little emoticons or post in bubblegum font, and if I wanted the opinions of the inarticulate people who favor such sites I'd sign up. I had no problem reading the posts on the old set up as most of the books I read now have small script, big words and not many pretty pictures. However, given the right wing, bible thumping zealotry prevelant on this site I guess I should be happy that I don't have to recite a pledge of allegiance to God prior to every post.

Tue Apr 18 2006I'm having a hard time getting used to the home page design so far. But what I like about the new home page the most is that the content is fresh. You see new reviewers, multiple featured topics, etc. I found the old index pretty stale. Now, for a regular reviewer, there's a reason to hit the home page.

Tue Apr 18 2006Reminds me of a 'usa today'-esque attempt to use pretty colors and new graphics to draw in new people. . .but these weren't the reasons people rated in the fist place. . .

Tue Apr 18 2006It takes a little bit of getting used to, but its ok. Its a lot more trendy and easier - once you take the time out - to look around.

Tue Apr 18 2006I like the new RIA Homepage much better. With the old page I really had no reason to ever look it. Great job to everyone who had their creative paws involved in the development of it. As others have said it will take a while to get familiar with the layout but as with all good things it should be worth it in the end.
