What the heck? What it's going to take to The Steve Miller Band in there? Seal covered one of their songs, so that's gotta count for something.

HOF review committtee needs to pull their heads out of their collective behinds! Steve Miller is probably the best slide guitarist that I've seen or heard perform. I've been to more than just one or two of his concerts and he plays his ass off for a good crowd that appreciates his music. At one concert, I recall SMB played six on cores because the crowd wouldn't stop applauding. It was worth every penny I paid to see them. He's played with the likes of Chuck Berry, Paul McCartney, Buffalo Springfield, and Boz Scaggs.

A great blues guitarist and one of the slickest productions. His career has been prolific enough to earn a spot. Call him the Space Cowboy, the Gangster of Love, the Joker, but most of all, call him in the Hall of Fame... soon!

Despite his (self-given?) nickname, Stevie "Guitar" Miller isn't all that distinctive a musician. Still, he is talented and has a good r&r track record...should be inducted in HOF one of these days.

Absolute great, but sure why the Hall has John Melloncamp and Bob Seger in but can't see to put Steve Miler. Solid for 2 decades.

Yes.  His group can be traced back tothe Sand Fraqncisco scene of the '60'sand continued through the 70's and into the '80's with hits.  For a while, Boz Scaggs was part of the band.  Although people remember him most for the string of hits starting with "the Joker", earlier songs, such as "Space Cowboy" are as good, or better. If the Righteous Brothers are in, the Steve Miller Band should be also.

Most of the arguments here are in favour of Steve Miller's induction based on his sales/chart performance over an extended period.  Those purely statistical considerations may get you into Cooperstown, but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should celebrate art not output.  He's just a guy who had a decent batting average and a lot of hits but overall was a pretty boring player.

No doubt this crafty good-time wizard of blue-eyed blues-pop should be in there! His songs are all stamped in classic rock DNA! You can't free yourself from the intro riff of Fly Like an Eagle, or the silly lyrics of the JOKER. How did he turn into such a tunesmith? I never liked his late 60's stuff, except when he screamed, 'SOMEBODY GET ME A CHEESEBURGER!'

Yep, I'am revvin just writing about this great band. I was rockin and knowing it, when this guy was around. How could you beat his lyrics,"Keep ON Rocking Me Baby", there are definitely a lot of powerful messages, this is something I feel is lacking in the music of todays generation.

a band founded by Mr. Miller , an american blues and rock and roll guitarist. Miller never had much to say, he's a professional who's not much of an inverntor but one hell of a craftsman. Theyre are so catchy and tuneful.

Steve Miller is way past due for being inducted into the hall of fame. He helped change the top 40 radio world in the seventies from the bubble gum pop of- Neil Sedaka and Captain & Tenille-into good feeling rock and roll that influenced a generation, He helped form and shape the early 60's expiremental rock with his mix of psychedelic and blues/rock. Ask any serious rock history expert and they will tell you how Steve Miller's first five albums were some of the 60's best examples of San Franscisco/love rock scene. He has endured through the years as one of the most talented musicians in the rock world. His music is still being discovered and enjoyed by newer generations of music lovers. It is time to give the honor that is due to him and not to let time keep on slippin away.

Come on. This guys has three seaparte career periods. The late 60's early 70s rock of, "Living in the USA", "Space Cowboy" The late 70's early 80's commercial success of 'Fly Like an Eagle" "Jet Airliner" The later day stuf which is in decline, but steady. A million great songs and classics from teh kid who studied at the knee of Les Paul.

A dated 70's dude who still is living off his reputation as evidenced by his 5th Summer Tour with no new album. And Abracadabra is certified garbage! No!

Yeah, I love this guy. Fresh and original, wrote a lot of cool little songs. Nothing epic, but he was great, at least in the 70's. SOme of his best stuff is the earlier blues stuff.

3 good songs? Are you kidding? Swingtown, Jungle Love, Take The Money & Run, Rockin Me, Serenade, True Fine Love, The Joker, Fly Like An Eagle, Jet Airliner Dance Dance Dance, Winter Time, Wild Mountain Honey, Abracadabra... All great songs that bring back great memories.

Yeah he deserves to be in the hall. He had great songs like Fly Like an Eagle, Jungle love, The Joker, Keep on Rockin' Me, and Take the money and Run. Boz Scaggs started with him. If he even thinks about performing Abracadabra, the officials should walk up to the stage and tell him he's expelled from the hall.

They had legs, so that supports their case. From Space Cowboy in the Early '70s to Abracadabra in the '80s. While some of their songs sound pretty dated (Jet Airliner and Fly Like an Eagle), The Joker is timeless. They deserve it; it ain't like it's Air Supply or something.
