Wed Jun 24 2009My question is do we really have 2,000 parts? Are they counting each and every freckle? Crazy advertising slogans aside, the soap is pretty good! I like how lever 2000 is shaped - more oblong, as opposed to regular soap. Smells pretty good too!

Wed Apr 16 2008I sent an email to unilever on the soap bar and their response is stated below: -------------- At Unilever, we want our consumers to enjoy a superior product. Our goal is to make a quality product that will satisfy a wide range of consumer preferences. Before marketing and distribution of the product, all our products are subjected to extensive consumer testing. Our Lever 2000 was not reformulated. It was, however, re-packaged and the words, "with Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion" were added. Vaseline Intensive Care lotion ingredients have always been in Lever 2000 products. The brand is just bringing attention to them in order to emphasize the moisturizing benefits. ------- Wondering what to make of it.

Wed Mar 19 2008I had used lever soap a lot of years and really liked it. Now is is terrible and it feels like slime is on your skin after you use the new version with vaseline. I hate it and will not buy it again.

Fri Feb 29 2008Please bring back the ORIGINAL-PERFECTLY FRESH LEVEL 2000 SOAP...My system is so SENSATIVE...and...that was the only soap I could use. I have one bar left................What will I do? I get a horrible headache with the new formation...when..I smell it on my husband. He's unable to use that new formula level 2000 before coming to bed because the smell wakes me up. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL...DESPERATE.

Wed Dec 19 2007OMG...I'm so glad there are others out there who feel the same way I do. Back in 1992, my dermatologist told me 2 things. 1. Keep my hands off my face. 2. Use Lever 2000 Antibacterial Soap. For the last 15 years I have faithfully used Lever 2000 and had perfect skin. However, during the last year, I have had the most acne in my life. I couldn't figure out WHY. Now I know! It is definitely the Vaseline in the soap. I'm so diappointed that Unilever discontinued the ORIGINAL Lever. The latest version of Lever 2000 stinks (literally). I can remember when Lever smelled fresh and invgorating. The Vaseline in the soap now makes it smell awful. ONE MORE THING...how can Unilever put their ORIGINAL product on the shelf in our stores and call it ORIGINAL when it clearly ISN'T the original version...they added Vaseline??? I say BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL!! BTW...Unilever lost my business as of today. I asked my doctor which soap I should use now and he mentioned Safeguard Antibacte... Read more

Sun Oct 21 2007I love lever 2000 it has the best scents and I feel extremely clean after my shower.

Sat Sep 08 2007Well I used it for years until they took it off the market. Level Bros. don't seem to be listening to their faithful consumers. Perhaps if we were not so faithful. I will no longer use anything made by Lever Bros. Hey, they don't care about us why should we care about them? Bring back the soap!!!!!!!!!!

Sun Aug 05 2007Vaseline is for the crack of the butt, not the whole body. I agree with the majority of the comments that it leaves you with that smell of an auto mechanic with oil all over him and a slimy/greasy feeling. Please bring back the old version of your antibacterial soap and take the vaseline out of all your soaps.
by kcmabey
Fri Jun 01 2007Not as good since they put in vaseline
by johnf1379
Thu May 03 2007Is the Lever 2000 antibacterial liquid soap the same thing? I see that it's available in gallon sizes on the internew.
by krumf478
Thu Apr 19 2007The new vaseline version is terrible. It makes me feel slimy and greasy. The old 2000 was all I ever used but is no longer available. I will have find a new soap.

Sun Apr 15 2007The New Lever 2000 with Vaseline is horrible. I have used Lever 2000 old formula for 15 years. Loved it. It was the only soap I used. I have only tried the new formula once. It made my skin very itchy and it stinks. Why they would stop making something that works is beyond me! If they wanted vaseline in their product why couldn't they make it a new line and keep the old line too? I will not be buying anymore Lever 2000. It is no longer for my 2000 parts!

Wed Apr 11 2007I LOVED THE ORIGINAL LEVER 2000 ANTI-BACTERIAL BAR!!! IT WAS AMAZING FOR EVERY PART OF THE BODY AS INTENDED....HOWEVER, THE NEWER VERSION WITH VASELINE IS JUST A NO-GO!!!!!IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!! ITS LIKE THE "NEW COKE" FIASCO INTRODUCING THIS "IMPROVED" VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL. LUCKILY THOUGH, DOVE STILL EXISTS AND WORKS JUST AS WELL AS HE ORIGINAL LEVER 2000. THE NEW LEVER 2000 IS RUBBISH!!!

Mon Mar 19 2007Lever 2000 with Vaseline is a wonderful product - I only hope that they consider adding mineral oil v/r Sanchez
by tituspullo
Wed Mar 14 2007I'm so glad that people have posted their views on the newer "Vaseline" version which is total crap. The older Lever 2000 Original version was the best overall soap I have used. It did a good job of cleaning my skin without overdrying. Unilever should look at these comments and bring back the old version.
by mdonahue
Wed Jan 24 2007wonderful soap all-around. can't see how you could improve on this product. your skin feels remarkably soft and moist for days after you use it. you don't have to bother using moisturizing lotions. this soap the best of all soaps by far. miraculous formulation of ingredients.

Fri Dec 29 2006I can't stand the new lever 2000 with vaseline. You do not feel clean. I think they should bring back the old lever and let the public choose. If the do not put the lever 2000 back on the shelves I will have to find another soap.
by firebomb5
Tue Dec 12 2006Please bring back the BLUE Lever 2000 (Pure Rain). This stuff was great. It smelled great (actually wakes you up) plus it was smooth on the skin.
by themartins
Mon Dec 11 2006The new "vaseline lotion ingredients" lever 2000 is slimey and smells like chemicals. They should find the exec who suggested the change and escort him/her from the building with a security guard. The rating is a one only because I couln't submit a 0.
by disgust4pcness
Fri Nov 17 2006Overrated...at least from the male perspective...this stuff is way too fragrant.

Fri Sep 22 2006This new Lever 2000 Bath Bar with Vaseline is awful!! We won't buy it again! Why would Unilever do this? Ask them! Call 1-800-598-5005 or visit: http://www.lever2000.com/contact.html to leave your comments. Maybe we'll get them to return their once great products to our store shelves. Maybe we'll be heard!

Fri Jul 21 2006EVERYONE CALL LEVER 2000 AND SEND THEM EMAILS! GO TO THEIR WEBSITE! LET THEM KNOW THAT WE WANT THE ANTI-BACTERIAL SOAP BACK! THE ORIGINAL! IT WAS THE BEST SOAP EVER! WE NEED TO PUT PRESSURE ON THEM! IF THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS THEY WILL BRING IT BACK!
by sydneycarton
Fri Jun 23 2006Discontinuing Lever 2000 antibacterial bar soap has got to be the dumbest corporate decision since "New Coke." PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I hope nobody buys their crappy new soaps so that the corporate idiots at Lever realize what a moronic mistake they made and bring back their originals! Can anyone recommend a good replacement? I WILL NOT BUY LEVER AT ALL UNLESS THEY BRING BACK THEIR ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP.
by sonyanduck
Sat Jun 03 2006Please, Please, Please put Lever 2000 Antibacteria Soap back on the market. I have bought every kind of soap there is and nothing works. Please

Fri May 12 2006OMG this is the best soap ever. I used it for years as reccommended by my dermatologist. Please bring it back... my skin has never been the same! :-(

Tue Apr 11 2006Yes, where is lever 2000 antibacterial,? It was referred to my family by our doctor, also. Why on earth did they stop carrying it?
by ex_lever_2000_cstmer
Fri Apr 07 2006I was wondering why it was discontinued also, all your other soaps SUCK, the antibacterial soap was great. Why in the hell would you discontinue a great product. BAD MOVE..........Is it ever coming back?
by julesk
Thu Mar 23 2006Another desperate plea to Lever 2000 to PUT THE ANTIBACTERAIL BAR SOAP back on the shelves! I have had severe skin breakouts since I was little and this is the ONLY soap that makes them GO AWAY totally! I cannot find the soap anywhere now and my breakouts that were so embarrasing when I was younger are back now. This is the only soap that works for so many people... why has the company discontinued it????
by noire69c
Tue Mar 14 2006I do not like the new Lever 2000 body wash. Please bring back the old blue bottle! The new one smells a bit like alchol, not the refreshing old blue scent, that gets 5 plus stars with me, Does anybody know where it can still be purchased?
by beebob
Sun Mar 12 2006I may know why it was discontinued. I read an article stating that Triclosan (the active antbacterial ingredient) was being pulled from products due to the discovery that when mixed with the chlorine in tap water, it produced trace amounts of ether, (which may be poisonous). Whether or not this is why thyey pulled the formula, I do not know, But I have noted oher products using Triclosan have also changed their formulas to exclude the chemical. I upset as it took me years to find the perfect soap for my complexion and body chemistry.

Wed Mar 08 2006My Dermatologist referred me to use Lever 2000 Bacterial Soap for my skin condition. I cannot find it anywhere. And now I know why. It has been discontinued. Please bring this product back on the market. I have tried everything else and no relief. Hoping and praying your product was the answer.

Wed Feb 22 2006Dear LEVER 2000 manufacturers, Please - Please - Please put the original Lever 2000 Antibacterial Bar Soap back on the shelves of the many distributors so that it will again be available to the general public. I only use that soap but have run out and I've tried other soaps which you manufacture but nothing seems as good for me. Other soap seems to be too dry or too oily for my sensitive skin. The antibacterial soap also lathers up without the dryness so that a person feels really clean. Why, oh Why did you discontinue and are you planning on bringing it back? Please say yes. Please reply.
by sfalconer
Wed Feb 08 2006They have changed it and not for the better it has a chemical smell and it does not lather up as well as it used to. What were they thinking?
by weepingwillow
Sat Jan 14 2006I had used Lever 2000 anti-bacterial for a few years and loved the scent. I recently bought the energizing Lever 2000 because I thought it was the old soap (because of the orange box) but was disappointed to find that it was a green bar that does not smell nearly as good and I agree with others that it gets used up very fast. I hope that the old bars are brought back. They don't need to change and improve the boxes and colors and scents to compete with all of these new products. I think a lot of people were satisfied with the original scents.
by jthren2000
Tue Jan 03 2006Lever 2000 Anti-Bacterial soap was recommended by my dermatologist many years ago. I have used it ever since with great results. Where can I buy it? Please don't tell me it was discontinued. All other soaps smell badly.
by smurf8
Tue Dec 27 2005PLEASE bring back the old formula! I gave up the new stuff before my husband and I still had SEVERE skin reactions until HE stopped using it. They have so many poor options now and we have tried each and every one of Lever's new bars, they all produce a terrible skin reaction with bleeding, eczema and burning. I urge everyone to write a letter or e-mail Unilever to BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL BAR!
by midtownny1
Mon Dec 26 2005Another vote to bring back lever 2000 anti-bacterial! What a wonderful soap that was! Does anyone know any other brands that are comparable? Why would they get rid of a soap that has been recommended by so many health professionals? It is beyond me!
by moejoke
Mon Dec 26 2005My 5-star rating applies to the original Lever 2000 anti-bacterial soap. I can't believe they discontinued it! I have very sensitive skin - it cannot take the perfumes and additives that are in other soaps, or in the new line of Lever soaps. Believe me, I've tried them all! Forget them! Bring back what works! Lever 2000 anti-bacterial soap is the only one!
by bobupandkiss
Wed Nov 30 2005Where is it? I can't find it anymore! Lever 2000 Anti-Bacterial I WANT MY SOAP BACK!!!
by ageless_val
Wed Nov 09 2005Why did you change a good thing...bring back the Anti-Bacterial Lever 2000 soap!!! I have sentitive skin and it's the only I can really use and not have to worry about breaking out.
by outdoor4art
Tue Nov 01 2005I am dissappointed as well at the loss of a soap I've used for years. I need an antibacterial soap for my skin that doesn't dry it out and isn't perfumed, which aggravates my allergies. A healthy product that worked. I'd market it, not discontinue it. People with alllergies would love this stuff.
by nutmeg5
Sat Oct 08 2005I searched online for ORIGINAL Lever 2000. Then, I saw that many folks were in the same search mode. It was my favorite -- my only -- soap for almost 20 years. I want it back. The NEW scents and formulations are not an option -- very disagreeable scents and very short lived bars. Why change what isn't broken?
by dknwas_1983_at_pe_oplepc
Thu Sep 29 2005It was a great soap and I know that it sold I just dont understand why the would discontinue Lever 2000 Anti Bacteria Moisture Responce that was a dumb idea. I know they are losing a lot of money!!!!!
by jonesa1226
Sun Sep 25 2005I agree!! I used Safeguard for 30 years, then switched to Lever 2000 antibacterial since it had moisturizers. Now it's not available!!
by alien273
Sun Sep 25 2005Apparently, I'm one of the *many* who *loved* Lever2000 Antibacterial Bar Soap, and are now extremely pissed that it's been discontinued. The ginseng one is a poor replacement, and all the others in their line are awful. I certainly hope they listen to their consumers and bring it back.
by whyleverwhy
Wed Sep 07 2005The terrible rating is for the fact that Lever has now completely disappointed me not once...but twice. First they took the original L2K soaps off the market which I had been using from the start, and now the newly formulated antibacterial bar (which I had somewhat begrudgingly switched to)...the only antibacterial BAR in their product line is gone too!!! As a health care provider in the hospital for 12-16 hours per day, 3-5 days per week, I can't begin to count the number of showers I have taken. Lever HAD a great product. I keep hoping that this is some scheme along the lines of the great Coke conspiracy - you know, come out with a new horrible formula and go market crazy until consumers are tearing down the corporate walls demanding the original which will then be released under the term classic. Lever had a loyal customer for years in myself, I would happily return too, if only they would pull their collective marketing heads out of their collective marketing !#*%! - well, you get ...
