The best thing about Dove soap is the smell. It leaves a film on the skin right after showering. But then I noticed that it dried my skin out very bad. Can't understand why this is so, since it's so moisterizing while showering. Dove is way too drying. If it wasn't for this, I would use this soap because I love the smell.

I love Dove Beauty Bar----My mom used Dove Soap her entire life, she never ever washed in face in another soap, her skin was beautiful her entire life. My mom lived to be 76, her skin was beautiful even then! I also use no other Soap on my face, I can see a renewal of my skin each time I wash my face with Dove Beauty Bar--- I can actually feel the wonderful creams on my skin (The name Dove-- Says It All---Smooth, Creamy and Natural !!).

I've heard a lot of great things about Dove so I decided to try it. I got the Dove Moisture Lotion Gentle Exfoliating bar because I have dry, sensitive skin, and it smells amazing. It lathers up really good and does clean well, but it gets kind of soggy on the bottom if the shelf it sits on get wet. The biggest setback is that it actually makes my skin feel dry and itchy within about 15 minutes after I get out of the shower. Before I have to use about 1/4 of of real lotion my skin IS soft and smells very nice, but the fact that it doesn't leave it like that makes me feel like Dove isn't all that it's hyped up to be.

I have always loved dove soap... it smells real nice too. I actually use it strictly on my face, and used it as an experiment. I have very sensitive skin. One night, i used my grandmothers soap on my face (dove soap i forgot to say). I have a acne problem (or had one) and the next morning, my face was smooth and almost acne free! i freaked out...(in a happy way of coarse!) and the next night i used my liquid soap on my face (caress evenly gorgous) and the next morning my face broke out... again. Soooo... now i use it strictly on my face ( i actually made my grandmother buy me a bar) and acne is no longer a problem for me!

I love soap. Some people think it's odd for a guy in his 20's to hang out in the bar soap ilse sniffing the different brands getting all happy when there's a new flava on the market but oh well...atleast I'm clean. That being said my girlfriend bought herself a pack of Dove bar soap ( the light blue one...I believe it is a limited summer variety ) and I bought myself a pack as well ( the men+care green bar ). I like the way the bar feels creamy and lathers up well even on a wash cloth. It also leaves a long lasting fragrance that is very welcome in the winter but not so much in the summer ( bee's thought I smelt like heaven ). My one and only major complaint about Dove is the price. I don't know if this has happened nation wide but recently the price of the bar packs has went up a buck. When I went to the store a few weeks ago to purchase more soaps I noticed the price was at 6.56. That's quite alot of money for soap. There are many other national brands that give you 8 bars for 3 t... Read more

It's good because it doesn't dehydrate the skin of the hands as much as the regular soaps (but I wouldn't recommend using it instead of a shower gel though). I don't like its perfume that much but luckily the cucumber one smells a bit nicer.

For those of you with sensitive skin, this family of products is for you! Dove promotes a product with no irritants! My parents raised me using this soap, so I speak from experience when I say that their claim is true!

Soap reviews. . .oh well- I'll try one. Years ago I had a serious but temporary medical problem. . .an unpleasant side effect (among many) was that different kids of soaps were making my skin break out in hives and make me itch like a Marine leaving a Thai brothel. My family was patient and CVS'd me six different brands to try out to find one (at least one) that didn't make me break out. . .Dove was the winner. Used it ever since - now that's brand loyalty. . .

Dove is hypo-allergenic and great for sensitive skin. It is doctor-recommended and can be used on any part of the body, including the face so it is great to take on a vacation because it's all you need to stay clean! I like the fragrance-free sensitive skin beauty bar as well as their fragrance-free moisturizing deodorant.

I use the Dove un-scented bath bar soap. It is one of the best soaps for people that can have allergic reactions to most soaps on the market. It makes lots of lather and rinses off quite well. The only downside is cost and it gets used up rather quickly. I have also used the body wash liquid and prefer the bar soap.

I received some of of this Dove body wash from a friend , and it really does a great job of keeping my skin moist during the winter. Smells wonderful in the cherry almond scent. I think I still prefer the soap version though.... the soap is just easier and faster to apply and rinse off.

I want my Dove Nutrium Bar soap back..why did they change it?  The new cream oil Nutrium barely lathers and feels like there's a film left on my skin..not to mention my shower walls...yuck!  I'm really choked..can you tell....?  Anyone know of another bar soap that's like the old nutrium?

I got this product ( dove cream oil body wash-delicate) into my eye and had a horrible reaction because the "oil" in this product could not easily be rinsed out of my eye properly. This later resulted to a trip to the doctor for an antibacterial creame. I DO NOT recommend this product to be used anywhere near your eyes. The bottle does not say opthamologist tested.  I have been a dove user for over 15 years and never had any previous problems.

Dove Nutrium is absolutely the very best bath bar on the market. My only fear is that they will discontinue it or change the formula..something that seems to happen to everything I happen to be loyal to... its my curse..

I use the bar soap for sensitive skin. It's the only soap I've found that does the least amount of damage in terms of drying out my skin.

Dove is the best soap for people who have extremely dry or sensitive skin - or both. I've used Dove soap my entire life (24 years) original bar, unscented bar, and body wash. I will never use another soap! I tried caress which is made by the same company and it made me itch. My skin is extremely sensitive and dove is the only soap that doesn't give me a rash. Plus all of my boyfriends through out the years have commented on the fact that my skin is as soft as a baby's bottom and I don't even use lotion. DOVE ROCKS!

Ive been using dove for over 25 years now since a little girl to mom/wife now, and i always have been using it faithfully, although, ive tried caress, oil of olay, they are great also, but i seem to love my dove bar soap, ive tried nutrium, the pink dove and the body wash of nutrium, and the cucumber with green tea cool moisture body wash, they are all great!! I would highly recommend dove bar soap forever!!!!! the reason why is, it moisturizes perfectly, not drying, smells wonderful, and doesnt clog your skin, and it made my complexion acne free all my years of life!! Dove is my #1 choice of soap!!One bar soap of dove that I HATE IS THE exfoliating, this exfoliating it dries my skin and i feel itchy with this soap, and it feels like clay im rubbing on my body, i hate that dove exfoliating, But the other dove bars are Wonderful for me!!!!

A little expensive compared to other national brands. The quality of the soap is good and it makes your skin feel good. I especially, like the new soap with the crystals on it.

I find this soap to be the least irritating on my skin, and it has a very subtle rose scent. The only problem is you may not get as much uses out of it compared to other soaps--it disintegrates too fast.

Great-smelling and definitely leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. However, I don't recommend using it on your face. I was told that if you ever use bar soap on your face, you should use Dove or Caress...but it made me break out...so I use Zest--even though I know it's a big no no. Zest works for me, so I don't mind using bar soap on my face.

I love Dove soap. Even though i prefer the smell of the original scented bar, I use the unscented, sensitive skin variety. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I was skeptical at first about using this for my face because i thought it would clog my pores but i did some research and, turns out, its hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. I've been using it just for my face for around 4 months and its so much better than any harsh acne cleanser. Cheap too! I got a two pack in October for around $2 and each bar lasts at least 2 months. Great product.

I've used some version of Dove soap all my life. Deoderant soaps strip my skin and make me itch. Body washes don't lather well and don't rinse well so I stick with bar soap. The new Dove Exfoliating has a wonderful, soft scent, not as perfumey as original Dove. I also like Dove Nutrium very well. Sometimes if I want a change I substitute Oil of Olay soap..same feeling, soft and smooth, not dry.

I have sensitive skin. This doesn't irritate my skin like most soaps do. I have to use the scent free version. However, this soap is a distant second to my all time favorite soap, Kirk's Castile. Kirk's rinses off much better and therefore makes me feel cleaner, yet still doesn't dry out or irritate my skin.

Nice, moisturizing bar of soap, very gentle, but it's best to keep it out of the dish soap and onto something that'll allow it to drain properly--it tends to disintegrate if left in water.

SOAP of the GODS! Smells good/works good-even for my eczemaed sensitive skin. Never harsh, very nice to even shave with, there is no other. KEEP OUT OF THE RUNNING WATER or it melts cuz it is so creamy! I found the best way to keep it is in a suction cup soap holder (at druggist for $2) away from the stream. Sometimes on lucj you can get a sixpak at the Dollar stores for like 3 bucks! DOVE rules!

Dove for sensitive skin beauty bar is great for your face but if you have really dirty hands forget it. The moisturizing lotion in the bar clings to your hands and when you dry your hands the dirt transfers to the towel you're drying your hands on. I did experiment with 4 bars of soap and this was rated #4 out of the 4.

My grandmother used this and she had beautiful shin. I use it now - love the smell of the 'unscented' bar. I use it on face and body. Does not dry out skin. The bottom of the bar gets real mushy. I think it needs to be on a drying rack or something inbetween uses. I gave it a 4 because of the mushiness, otherwise, it would be a 5.

Very mild, moisturizing and good smell. One of friend uses this soap to wash his face, and to be true, his face looks quite nice, moisturized and looks a liitle bit okay, because he has mild acne and by using this soap, a kind of non-irritating, he gets back his look. I never use this soap as facial cleanser but I enjoy my bath by using this soap.
