Never quite understood the fascination with Cocker until I heard "You Are So Beautiful". That gruff voice singing a tender song like that brings tears to my eyes.

The legendary joe cocker has been shamefully overlooked by the HOF, and has seen fit to induct much less deserving artists. The young generation forgets what a powerful force in rock music Joe was back in the late 60's and 70's. He is the greatest intrpretive rock singer in rock history period. He still performs at a high level even at 63 years old, and can still outsing vocalists half his age. With his legendary performance at Woodstock, and his famous Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour of 1970, Cocker was the #1 attraction in pop music at that time. Hit records like "Feelin Alright", "The Letter", 'With A Little Help From My Friends", "Cry Me A River", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window", "High Time We Went", "You Are So Beautiful", "Up Where We Belong", "Unchain My Heart", "You Can Leave Your Hat On", and "When The Night Comes", are just a sampling of his musical output! I don't want to hear he doesn't write his own material. Neither does half of the acts inducted! All those ... Read more

To: Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Joe Cocker ,his first big hit was the song Those Precious Words "With a Little Help from My Friends," a cover of the song by The Beatles off the Sgt. Pepper's album. The same year he appeared at the Woodstock Music Festival. He had further success covering Beatles tunes with his cover of their song "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" off their Abbey Road album. Other early hits included "Cry Me a River" and "Feelin' Alright". Joe Cocker, St. James Infirmary Blues, the passion of "blues" the search of the best. Every song that joe, it exhibits from a personality touch, Joe's vocal ooze feel and emotion, crying his blues.

Joe is Rock's best interpeter of others songs, he makes them his own.

Really has not stood out over the years and is best known for a cover of the Beatles With a little Help From My Friends.

When I was a child, I always thought that Cocker's voice was pure passion and emotional energy. In fact, it really is rather overdone and he sounds exactly like Michael Bolton, so much so that one cannot hear much difference between them. The same goes for his music: even is more respected pre-1974 work really does sound rather overblown.

Shurly this list is flawed. Cocker should have been one of the halls first inductees.

As far as I'm concerned the idiots at the rock and roll hall of fame are all morons. Not only is Joe Cocker deserving of being in the hall of fame, he can still perform at a high level. I saw him for the 10th time back in Feb of this year at Lac du Flambeau, his performance was fantastic.

How many people from Woodstock are still out there 9 months out of the year for his fans. The man is a legend from the 60's who was able to grow in the 70's to now. Who else could deserve to be in the hall more?

Definately deserves to be in- this guy puts tons of raw emotion into his songs. One of the few great caucasion bluesmen.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! No doubt one of the greatest song interpreters to ever grace a stage. The man can make any song his own and most of the covers he did were better than the originals. The only artist I can honestly say that about.

He was a force in the early 70's before lushing out. Was able to get clean and be successful in the 80's albeit a little more on the pop side. A solid artist who deserves to be in
