Mon Jun 20 2011I think the intangible quality that made this band so big in the 80's is the same thing that makes them a nostalgic favorite today.

Sun Jan 30 2011Bland and commercial as hell, but so are half of the bands in there.Commercial success evidently trumps quality or originality as far as the R&R HOF is concerned.I have no love for Foreigner, but there's definately worse stuff already inducted.

Sun Jan 30 2011Hi, we're Bad Company's little brothers and we suck even more.

Sat Jan 29 2011I just read they are thinking of putting the Beastie Boys in OMFG! What are they thinking ? I believe its a crime that Foreigner is not already inducted they took me and my whole generation through our tough teen years with rockin songs like Urgent, Jukebox Hero,Long Long way from home, Hot Blooded, and Starrider! They made falling in love magical with songs like Break it up, Waiting for a girl like you, Feels like the first time etc. etc. etc. Lou Gramm had one of the best voices ever and with the musical genius of Mick Jones together they where one of the greatest rock bands of all time! I say induct them now it's Urgent!

Thu Jun 10 2010the governing body of the RRHF is made up of a bunch of elitist musical snobs. Frustrated, failed and wanna be musicians form the nucleus of this organization. They are so out of touch and distanced from the real fans of guitar driven rock music. Since when have Madonna, Abba and a host of 50's doo wop one hit wonders qualified as rockers. This band with huge classic rock anthems like Juke Box Hero, Feels Like the First Time,Hot Blooded etc. along with Journey and Boston are well overdue for the recognition they deserve but at this rate The Pet Shop Boys probably stand a better chance !!!

Mon Sep 07 2009Powerful vocals by Lou Gramm and heavy resonating guitar rhythms. Got a little soft later on with "I Want to Know What Love Is" and "I Don't Want to Live Without You"; still their overall body of work is more than enough to get them in as a historically significant rock and roll band.

Fri May 16 2008They were certainly competent. Their vocalist exhibited talent. But their sound wasn't distinctive; it was similar to a number of other groups. I don't have anything negative to say about them. I just don't have enough positives to strongly recommend them.

Wed May 14 2008The best band as far as strength in talent. Lou Gramm has one of the best voices in Rock. He is never given the credit due. He made Foreigner what it was and is today. The band made such an impact in the 70's and 80's on music and it's direction. They were not only a catalyst to keep Rock flourishing in a time of change and oncoming of differnt music. They were the most rounded and balanced in talent of any Rock band in the two decades they existed as a group. There is no doubt that this band is well deserved of a spot in the Rock Hall of Fame. They are one of the best bands of this century.

Tue Dec 18 2007I'm probably prejudiced by having lived through the era of terrible slick gutless corporate rock that this band epitomized, but there is really nothing that they did that left an impression on the music business anywhere except at the cash register. It all just sounded so strategic and processed, mucis as product at its worst..

Tue Dec 18 2007Reasonably good, but not exactly 'cool' and there are many better bands who deserve to get in more. They'll fight 'Tooth and Nail' to get in though...

Fri Sep 28 2007Are u guys kidding me? Foreigner has sold more records and has more hits than all of these folks! Double Vision is #1 selling album in Atlantic Records history..and their B-side songs are great...today it all about 1 song per album....Give them some love...

Thu Apr 26 2007Foreigner was a great band and put out four really good albums. I am just not sure if they are quite good enough for the Hall.

Mon Apr 09 2007They are ok, but the chances of them being in anytime soon, are as the expression goes are as "Cold As Ice".

Tue Mar 27 2007I know it's cold as ice, but I say no urgency to get in.

Sun Feb 18 2007I love this music with all of heart. Seeing Foreigner live with lead singer Kelly Hansen was an unforgetable experience. In addition to their awesome talent, they connect with the fans, making their love for music and people shine through. I hope they continue to play smaller venues, and maintain the intimacy with their audiences.

Fri Mar 03 2006I am such a big fan of Foreigner that I created a Foreigner tribute band. People don't realize just how difficult it is to play their music correctly. I've seen so many bands butcher their tunes live. As the singer of my band, I find recreating Lou's vocals extremely demanding. He is without a doubt one of the most incredible singers of our age. He has so much soul it's unreal. They should be in the RnR HOF for sure. It's a no brainer.

Mon Dec 05 2005I've Been Waiting, and so will they. For a long Time. Cold as ice was a great slice of 70's rock-pop though wasn't it.

Sun Aug 07 2005Great band together and separately as solo artists. Deserving of this honor, can't believe they aren't in there already...

Sat Jul 16 2005These guys have too many incredible songs not to be in. The R&R; HOF is cold as ice. ;-)

Wed Jul 13 2005Pioneering Arena rock is not an accomplishment to be proud of. Their first couple of albums were good as far as 70's rock goes but they really started laying rotten eggs in the 80's Yuk!

Thu Jun 16 2005Wonderful band, some of the best songs. I love listening to them. Especially when I get stressed out, I can blast their music, drown myself in it, and before I know it I'm singing along, dancing, and having a good time.

Fri May 06 2005They were pioneers in Arean Rock along with Journey. They would be a great band to see be inducted.

Sat Apr 09 2005Foreigner is my all time favorite band. From the unforgettable guitar riffs to the vocals, it was all there. Foreigner had many top 10 songs, usually multiple songs per album. The amount of albums sold tells its own story as well. In their heyday, they had top songs, top albums, sold out arenas, they are quite accomplished. Do some research about the band, I bet many people would be shocked to see just how well they really have done. I really believe they deserve a place in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. If they don't make it (which would be a shame) at least I will have the rest of my life to enjoy the wonderful music they have created. It will always have a special place in my heart. You guys rock and I wish you the best of luck!

Fri Mar 25 2005I just extremely dislike Foreigner -- always have, ever since high school. If you're into them, that's fine, I just don't have anything good to say about them.
by skizero
Fri Mar 25 2005i thought the point of any HOF was to include only the best of the best. and while Foreigner has been around for years and had some hits, they do not represent the best in rock music. but at the same time a rock and roll HOF isn't as concise as a Sports HOF where stats and numbers tend to dictate worth. i find it hard to judge bands b/c music is a much more personal experience to people than whether or not someone hit 660 home runs.

Fri Mar 25 2005Had longevity, a nice run of Top-10s, and a few Klassics that were both upbeat (Cold as Ice and Urgent) and sentimental (Waiting for a Girl Like You and I want to Know What Love Is). And then there's Hot Blooded; cheesy and dated, but a song that I will always remember because it was playing on the radio while I was involved in [you know what] for the very first time]. I think their curriculae vitae supports a nomination.
