It's a bitter-sweet moment when a band as good as Badfinger hits the jackpot some 40 year's after their hay-day, with a climactic moment during the closing seconds of cable sensation "Breaking Bad". Either a whole new generation of Badfinger fans were born or the folks that dug them in 1971 woke up from a Woodstock Hangover in 2013. Either way it is nice to hear the Band get a brief recognition. "Baby Blue" was only one of several classic tracks from these Brits. Their story is a sad one, but perhaps some peace at last and revenue. Oh and Allen Klein will always be the biggest assholes in the music business.

A terific flash of brilliance and celebrity in their breif moment in the sun. Bad luck and tragedy hand cuffed there zenith and they quckly disintegrated into rock 'n roll history. But some of the most memorable 45s of the post-Beatles era "Day After Day", "Come and Get It", "Baby Blue", "No Matter What", "Without You"

Hard luck band, had rock star mentoring but heartbreak overcame ambition.

Badfinger was one of the least fortunate bands in rock history. A handful of brilliant hit singles, Apple Records, the help of Paul, George and Ringo, plus Todd Rundgren. just never seemed to get over the hump. But what great music.

Monster 45s and bad luck are what this band experienced. Bad luck usually beats a 45.

Badfinger were a British rock band consisting originally of Pete Ham, Ron Griffiths, Mike Gibbins and Tom Evans, active from 1968 to 1983, and evolving from The Iveys, formed by Ham, Griffiths and David "Dai" Jenkins in Swansea, Wales, in the early 1960s. Joey Molland joined the group in 1969, following the departure of Griffiths. Signed by The Beatles' Apple label in 1968 as The Iveys, they adopted the name Badfinger in 1969. The band drew comparisons to the Beatles initially, due to the similarities of their music, and the mentorship of some members of the Beatles. Badfinger had four consecutive worldwide hits in 1970 and 1971: "Come and Get It" (written and produced by Paul McCartney), "No Matter What", "Day After Day", and "Baby Blue". The Ham/Evans-penned Badfinger song, "Without You", became a Billboard number one hit for Harry Nilsson, and later a number three hit for Mariah Carey.[1] In 1970, the band engaged American businessman Stan Polley to manage their commercial affairs.... Absolutely. "No Matter What" started the genre powerpop (influenced by Beatles, Who, The Move). Today, every pop rock band is influenced or their faves were by this band. Classy.

The hits are great and timless. Pop rock songwriting at its best, but they didn't last long enough or make much of an impact. So they wont get in for a long time.

Pete Ham and Tom Evans were pure rock and roll no BS from the heart. Joey and Mike rounded out this quartet of perfection. I love the classics like Day after Day, Baby Blue, No Matter What and even Come and Get It but also love the lesser know tunes like Better Days, Believe Me and Suitcase. I love it when you talk about the song Without you and people say " Oh Yea, thats that Harry Nillson tune right?" and you drop it on them that this is actually a Badfinger tune. A terrible tragedy with crooked management that drove such talent to dispair and suicide. These guys have provided influences to many over the years. RIP Pet, Tommy, and Mike... When Joey joins you, Badfinger will be back together once again. Remember Badfinger!!

So many great singles came from Badfinger(as well as the Iveys and Pete Ham). These guys are what the Hall of Fame should be about.

Ran into the drummer for Badfinger about 15 years ago ~ in a bar ~ another lost star.  Maybe SOMEDAY they should be inducted, not quite sure.  All I can really say is that their songs make a lot of cover bands happy.

Among the most overlooked bands in rock history. Wish You Were Here is a masterpiece and would be recognized as such by many if Stan Polley hadn't fucked things up for them.

I've never been on the Beatles bandwagon. Anyone who calls Badfinger a Beatles rip-off has never listened to their music. What the Beatles had was a manager who was a promtional genius. What they lacked, and what Badfinger had a limitless supply of, was HEART and PASSION for music. Even the Beatles' "peace and love" songs sound calculated and hollow. Cynics wouldn't "get" the music of Pete Ham, so there's not use in trying to convince them otherwise. I would gladly never hear another Beatles song for the rest of my life, but I'll listen to Badfinger every day.

Tragic and Brilliant Badfinger deserves some recognition for writing one of the greatest power ballads of all time (Without You) plus the other great songs Like No Matter what, Day after day, Baby Blue etc.... Give Mike,Pete,Tom (R.I.P)to all 3 of them & the last surviving two members Ron Griffiths & Joey molland The accolates they deserve
