I've been married so long that my wife and I are on our second bottle of Tabasco.

Tabasco is the best pepper sauce you can buy at the local store. If there is a better one, I haven't found it. I have been looking for years for a better sauce. I wasted a lot of money on terrible wannabees. And Tabasco is very simple, only three ingredients; vinegar, peppers, salt. Awesome! I might try to make my own.

This sauce has its own unique taste, that alone will get it decent marks. I still use it from time to time.

This is the worst hot sauce ever! It's pure vinegar mixed with salt and aged red peppers. It's very weak and bitter. Heck, you have to use half the bottle to even taste the damn stuff! I understand this sauce has been around for over a century but that doesn't mean it's a great sauce. The way I see it, Tabasco is for wimps and old people who can't handle real hot sauce. Here is a list of some REAL hot sauces that I recommend. I understand that Tabasco sauce goes a long way back and that it is a favourite sauce for some people but I just think it has very little flavour and very little heat. Also just because it has been around a while doesnt make it good. If you want something hot there are so many sauces out there to do the job and most of them are from the Caribbean as they seem to have an art for Hot Sauce. Tabasco is just a "has been" sauce and "should never be" sauce but it will still be polular for some people. Ian www.EasyCaribbeanShop.com

Pretty much any time I'm at some out of the way little place that has what appears to be a locally made sauce I'll pick it up and give it a whirl. That's why I probably have a dozen little bottles in the back of my fridge. But I also always seen to have a bottle of Tobasco and a botle of Huey Fong Hot Chili sauce on the fridge door. They are basic standing ingredients in a host of household recipes.

Tastes like Vinegar, but if there is nothing else I'll pour it on.

It's good. A little bland and harsh. I am not a newbie when it comes to hot sauce so it's tolerable and isn't bottom shelf fair, overall not bad.

I like it. I do think it has a little lack of taste, but its not bad. It is surely not as bad or hot as some others.

While it is not at the top of my list I have to give credit to the most classic and well know of hot sauces. For me the flavor has too much vinegar and salt and not enough heat. I do prefer it over Texas Pete or Franks, but not by much. Good...ish on pizza.

Strictly for beginners. Too vinegary to my taste, and not much heat. Interestingly enough, it tastes quite good when used by the bottle in cooking, as the vinegar burns off, but that is not very cost-effective.

Not just heat but real flavor! The gold standard. It's so tasty it is almost it's own food group. It defines what Louisiana hot sauce is suppose to be.

The classic is still wonderfully flavored with no artificial ingredients. I like it because it adds both sourness and hotness to any dish, and certainly is a lot hotter than most "habanero" sauces.

Tabasco is for tourists and yankees. People who eat hot sauce regularly use Louisiana brand, which has flavor and sublety. Tabasco makes everything you put it into taste like vinegar and burn your tongue.

2500-5000 SCOVILLE UNITS *****ONE OF THE BEST***** Many of the cajun pepper sauces are overpowering with vinegar or covered up with too much salt. Tabasco uses natural vinegar and oak aging to mellow the flavor. I have lived in Texas my whole life and have had alot of different pepper sauces using all kinds of peppers. I like the flavor of tabasco peppers whether its in Tabasco pepper sauce or any of the other whole pickled tabasco sauces. However, in my opinion the flavor of this sauce is horrible for mexican food (with exception to ceviche) which is ironic since the pepper and style of the sauce originated in the region of mexico that it is named after. It does help make a great cocktail sauce, its good on pizza, soup, vinaigrettes, fresh mussels or oysters and jambalaya. Tabasco is more of an ingredient and an important culinary addition to anyone who is a serious cook. Give Tabasco the respect it deserves there are very few of these pepper sauces that are as versatile and no other... Read more

Hey, it's the classic from which to start. It is too much in the vinegar direction for some uses, but for brightening up dishes from eggs to Tex-Mex. it is mighty fine

A good staple sauce in any kitchen.Medium-hot to my taste, but I can eat jalepenos by themselves when the mood strikes me.Tabasco has a unique flavor, and it's a must have for Bloody Marys.I'd recommend it to anyone, even if they DON'T like hot foods-it's good to keep on hand for company. It's excellent on everything from rice & beans to seafood and eggs. You can mix it with ketchup (and a dash of lime & or lemon) for a quick and easy coctail sauce.

I am a wimp I admit, this stuff is too hot for me. All I can taste, is heat.

In terms of hot sauce, it is just OK, and nothing more. Fails to create the right balance of heat and flavor ending up like a spicy vinegar. Most restaraunts have it as it is mainline in the industry, some folks just never tried true hot sauce. As Chris Farley would say on his Bennett Brauer commentary I lack style!, I'm not...savvy!. That's basically what this stuff is, nothing special. Works okay on chicken and ribs. Even Frank's is better.

Tabasco is kinda like the default hot sauce--pretty much everyone has it, and though it's not awful in taste, there's nothing special about it. No hint of style, not a bit of uniqueness to it in the least. If hot sauce had a plain flavor, this would be it. The way I like my hot sauces, if it's mild, it's gotta have a lot of flavor; otherwise, it's gotta be burning hot. Tabasco is neither of these. Not even much of a kick to it, but it'll do when nothing else is available.

One of the classics in the hot sauce industry, and available just about everywhere that sells hot sauces. That being said, it's fairly mediocre compared to sauces that have come out since its inception. In a pinch or if you have no other options, use it. If you're shopping for unique ones, pass this by.

A little overrated. There really too much stuff to put on, like sushi. Which grosses me out.

Too much vinegar! I guess it takes a certain taste for this sauce. Not as good as some of Tabasco's other products (i.e. Jalepeno, Garlic, Chipotle, etc.)

Tabasco is a good, all-purpose hot sauce that would by good for Goldilocks (ie it's not too hot nor too mild). Tabasco is also readily available in most restaurants and grocery stores.

The new Chipotle Tabasco sauce is awesome. It's got a great smoky flavor and it's not so hot that you can't enjoy it.
