HTC Nexus One

Looks like Apple finally has some competition. The Google Nexus One combines the sleek look and styling of the iPhone with the versatile Android platform and delivers the much demanded break from ATT wireless service that so many otherwise loyal iPhone users have complained of. The 3.7 inch 480 x 800 touchscreen display is absolutely brilliant and is more like working on a laptop than a typical smart phone. Paired with Google voice, this device is a must have. Great Phone!

It sounds like a model of android from Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" but it is in fact the name of the latest Android-powered phone to be announced from Google. It was rumoured for months that Google would produce their own Android phone, but there was nothing set in stone until about a month ago when the name "Nexus One" was revealed. Today however, the phone itself has been revealed at a special event held in San Francisco by Google. What the announcement of the Nexus One (@googlenexusone) means is that not only are Google providing a platform for other companies to use with their handsets, but they are also producing a handset of their own which can act as a benchmark for others. The handset is 119mm by 59.8mm which is more or less the same size as Apple's iPhone.
