McDonalds French Fries

They just don't retain grease well enough.

Everybody loves those McD's fries. A large order runs about 500 calories per serving with half of those calories being fat. Eat enough of these over time and your the one that's going to be Super Size! Hey Hey Hey! It's tripple bi-pass surgery!

Reconstituted sawdust? Plastic?

I loved McDonald's fries growing up. While I always thought the rest of their food basically sucked (with the exception of the McRib. Why that never stays on the menu is beyond me), their fries ruled. However, McDonald's made the decision to try and get a little bit healthier (why people expect fast food chains to be healthy is beyond me), and changed the type of oil the fries are cooked in. While they are still decent, they simply aren't as good as they used to be. Newsflash! Fast food is bad for you! When I go to a fast food restaurant it isn't for my health which means the more grease the better.

Limp and uninspiring.

It will obviously be regarded as heresy by the other folks rating here, but I think these are revolting. They don't even have the texture of real potatoes, and are clearly reconstituted mashed and reformed before frying. I don't like fast food fries, and I much prefer the thicker cut fries served in several localized chains near my home. And if a Mick doesn't know potatoes, who does?

When fresh out of the fryer, dripping with grease and lots of salt, these are damn good. Amazingly, they're also good for you. (just kidding about the second part)

They have such a pleasant hydrogenated afterglow...kinda like Cloris Leachman 5 minutes after she has an orgasm... Up Date: Seems that the "O" word has offended some people, so I did a Giggle Search and found out that Cloris doesn't even require an orga...er...the Big "O". She'll get that hydrogenated afterglow after a few minutes with Wilford Brimley, or...in a pinch...Scott Baio. Happy?

I guess the quality of these fries vary, depending on which McDonalds location you buy them from. I really like these fries when cooked right, but I know they are unhealthy so I only have them once in a while. But I still prefer Burger King fries over these :P

shoestring fries - ever noticed the level of salt they add on is different worldwide? from personal experience, they seem to use more salt in Hong Kong and less in Canada.

..are only good when they are right out of the fryer, and on top of that, only good for about five minutes after you get them home.

So good, but I can only take the calories and fat like twice a year.

When I walked in, it smelled great, but man when I put that french fries in my mouth, I literaly through up!

They are greasy, fat, and god knows how many bad chemicals are in them.... but i gotta say their tasteeee isss YUMMMYYYYY :)... So I guess once in a while it's ok to have some bad stuff!! right??

They are best when they are fresh, which unfortuantely was about a month before they were shipped to McDonald's.

In states where transfat is still allowed they are yummy but in New York and other states that banned transfat they are not as good. They are salty and good :)I crave them sometimes.

ok, HOLY FARKIN SHIAT!!! I usually eat two or three large fries at mcdonalds, they are like a dream. Slightly crispy, a lil salty, SO FARKIN GOOD. Makes me wanna, like dirty dance with a bunny. Seriously, with ketchup, these fries are like an UNBELIVABLE taste pleasure in your mouth, you will want to eat and eat these till you PUKE. (like I have done...)
