Tue Mar 01 2011Vincent D'Onofrio is one of Hollywood's most unpredictable and compelling performers who will do anything to bring a character alive. He gained 70 pounds to play young Marine driven to the brink of mental collapse in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" in 1987, then slimmed down.. and cheered up ... for the romantic comedy "Mystic Pizza." My favorite D'Onofrio role to date is Vincent's intense, explosive performance as the complex, talented and tortured Conan the Barbarian author Robert_E._Howard in "The Whole Wide World" in 1996. He's played the iconic Professor Moriarty, Yippie founder Abbey Hoffman, legendary writer/director/actor Orson Welles and "Bug" in "Men In Black" Though he has made dozens of fascinating films, he's probably best known for walking the fine line between genius and madness as Detective Robert Goren in the deservedly successful Law & Order spin-off Criminal Intent ("LOCI") and it will be great to see him in that role again, if briefly, later this year.

Sun Aug 03 2008One of the best actors of all time. Starred in Full Metal Jacket, Ed Wood, The Cell, and a ton of other good movies. The best actor of any Law and Order series by far. They are lucky to have an actor of his quality starring on television. His characters are unique, intense, and portrayed with brilliance.

Tue Sep 12 2006NOLapro, your comment was impressive. Obviously you are someone that doesn't now much about art and certainly doesn't appreciate it! Your age is obvious as well. Vincent is one of the best actors of our time. His roles are diverse, they keep you guessing what he might do next. It's easy to act in the same basic role all the time, it becomes natural for you. Vincent's roles are so different sometimes you don't even realize it's him. Yes he is creepy in some of his rolls, but I belive that if Carl (from the cell) wasn't creepy ... it wouldn't have come across like it did!

Tue Sep 05 2006I hate this guy! He always looks like he thinks people around him are dumb and he can walk on water. If I ever see this guy in my neighborhood, me and my boys would jump him and give him the wedgy of his life. I would make him kiss my shoe, then we would take his wallet and then pee on him. And then of course we would put the video of it on the internet so the whole world can see him for the snotty nose wuss he really is!

Fri Mar 03 2006Quite possible the best and underrated actor of our time. Not just because he is my cousin. . .But, if you haven't seen his movies, check his bio, he has over 40 movie credits, and you have seen in many major movies, but didn't connect it was him. That's a good actor, becoming the character.

Fri Nov 04 2005His great character development on CI never detracts from the whodunit. Literally, the best on television in years!

Mon May 17 2004Vincent D'Onofrio is the best actor on TV. I haven't seen many of his movies, my first exposure of him was from Criminal Intent. Vinny D makes that show worthwhile and possibly the best on TV. His quirky mannerisms are at times comical, but that's what Vincent D'Onofrio is all about. I can never turn away when he is on screen, he is that good.

Sat Apr 10 2004He just pops off the screen and seems to make all the other actors look like they are sleep walking through their roles. He implies emotions and seems to change the very atmosphere around him. Suberb. Not bad to look at either.

Mon Nov 10 2003Vincent D'Onofrio is so good because he does not play the same role twice. Also he absorbs the character he plays and there is no trace is Vincent D'Onofrio in the role. He is brilliant, mesmerizing, and will hold your attention everytime. Check out his brutally, emotionally honest and scarey performance as Gomer Pyle in Full Metal Jacket, watch his dual role in the sci-fi movie The Thirteenth Floor, watch him bring Conan the Barbarian author Robert E. Howard to life in one of the most romantic movies The Whole Wide World, see his humorous turn as Edgar the Bug in Men in Black, see his poweful, edgy peformance as Pooh Bear(you'll hardly recognize him) in The Salton Sea, watch his heart wrenching Emmy nominated performance on Homicide Life on the Street one of the best hours of television ever. and watch him every Sunday as the brilliant, too smart to be a detective Robert Goren on Law & Order Criminal Intent. This is just a few of D'Onofrio's work, but once you watch him you won't... Read more

Mon Nov 10 2003What an incredible actor. No two episodes are alike! He makes every movie/television show he takes part in completely unique. He is deserving of all praise he gets. He is a great and exciting person to watch every week and I am glad to have the opportunity to watch such a well thought out show.
