Fri Aug 19 2011Well what a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!! I don't suffer from hairloss in the sense that I have bald patches but just that it has thinned out over the years and has become very fine like baby hair. I had lovely hair when I was a young girl, long and wavy, it has always been fine but I had lots of it and people commented on how nice it looked. I'm 45 now and the generally appearance of how straggly and tatty it has become really depresses me, it has affected my confidence. Even when I have my hair cut and styled it looks awful by the following day. I tried Viviscal thinking that I would see an improvement and I gave it a good chance (six months) but to no avail, my hair is still awful and I'm well out of pocket. I have tried all sorts of lotions and vitamin tablets, nothing works. I have a good well balanced diet and have tried head massage with oils to try to stimulate the growth. I am five months pregnant which I am thrilled about (hopefully the new baby will take my attention away fro... Read more

Tue Jan 11 2011I think viviscal is a good product to help thicken your hair. I have been using for 5 months and have just started to see visibly thicker hair. It takes a few months to start working though. Cost me £85 for 3 months from: http://www.hair-thinning.co.uk/viviscal-maximum-strength/

Fri Nov 26 2010It would be helpful if people put in their ages and the type of hair loss they are experiencing as well as a possible cause if they know.

Wed Nov 03 2010I'm in the beginning stages, so I do not want to rate this too high yet. I'm on my 12th day of using Viviscal. The reason I am trying it is because I have overall thinning of my hair and some almost bald spots that I am currently able to hide, but with less and less success as time goes on. I am a 62 year old female and am otherwise very healthy. Because of the bald spots, I am able to see change if they occur quite easily. Even though it has only been less than two weeks, I have noticed a lot of short hairs coming up from my balding areas, as well as other places--but it is really noticible in those balding spots. So I think that something is happening. It is not tons of it, but enough to really be noticible when I part my hair in many places. Another thing I will be looking for is the rate of growth in the top and front of my hair. The rest of my hair always grew quite fast, as do my nails. But the top--where it is the thinnest--grows very slowly and can't seem to get past 3-4" le... Read more

Sat Jun 05 2010I have tried every hair thickening gel, shampoo, spray, etc, and every vitamin and dietary supplement and nothing has helped. I tried Viviscal for 30 days and saw no improvement or difference in my hear length or thickness. My hair is thin, lifeless and breaks off easily. I thought maybe this product would help a little but saw no change in texture, length, or thickness.

Tue May 11 2010Haven't yet tried Viviscal, but in my 60s, female, and hair is thinning out. I take 20mg Simvastatin daily -- would it be safe to use viviscal as well ? Bit worried about the review from person whose hair fell out ! Any comments would be gratefully accepted.

Fri Jul 25 2008I just started my second box of Viviscal and I couldn't be happier with my results! I'm multiracial (Afr. Amer., Native American, and German). I've been using a relaxer since I was 6 and can easily notice when my hair grows. Typically, it's suppose to be 4 to 6 weeks between relaxers so you won't burn your scalp or damage your hair. Well, I have to stop putting relaxers in my hair it's growing so fast! At 3 weeks, I see new growth that I would normally see at 6 weeks or longer. Thickness wasn't an issue for me but the rate of growth has definitely increased. I haven't had ANY negative side effects and my nails grow every week. My hair is growing so fast, I've considered to discontinue using relaxers (THIS IS A BIG STEP FOR ME SINCE I'VE BEEN DEPENDENT ON THEM FOR MOST OF MY LIFE!) I take my pills twice a day, each with a meal and don't notice any "fishy" smell or taste (I'm VERY sensitive to taste and smell). I keep them in my purse so I can be reminded to take them everyday. CONSISTEN... Read more

Wed Jun 11 2008DO NOT GO TO THE YAHOO STORE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. Their service is beyond bad and they will not ship to any other address than your billing. Instead, use DRUGSTORE.COM, it's a very professional website that cares for the customer's decision to have the product shipped somewhere else. People work!!! They aren't home during the day!! At least I'm not but they were not willing to ship it to my work and were very quick on canceling my order without even telling me... AWFUL service! drugstore.com will even give you free shipping with orders over $25. AWESOME site!!

Sun Nov 06 2005Hello everyone, can anyone tell me if www.viviscalhair.com is a trustworthy site? I have bought Viviscal from there and have been taking it for 2 weeks, so I don't expect any changes yet, but I am concerned that the pills don't smell fishy as I've read they do, and wonder if I've got the real thing.

Tue Aug 03 2004I have been using Viviscal for almost 4 months (on my 4th box) and I'm still skeptical about it. However, I will say that my hair is definitely thicker and fuller, it also doesn't seem to shed as much as I'm going through peri-menopause. I do feel that my hair is stronger and longer but this is the part where I'm still hoping though for more solid and obvious changes. Overall I would say that this product is working so far and I'm looking forward to the 6-8 month period, where they say you have to wait that long for it to work, to see if my hair is much longer from the start. But I really think it is a gradual but steady process so don't look for a miracle to happen overnight.

Tue Jul 13 2004I'm on my 4th packet of Viviscal and I have found that it has helped my improve the condition of my hair. Also my nails have gone from soft and flaky to very hard. I'm going to continue to take Viviscal for 6mths then will go on a maintenance dose of 1 tablet per day as the makers suggest. I has helped me combat my hair problem and as such I will continue to use it.

Wed Mar 24 2004I started using this product a few years ago. It made my hair fall out in clumps after about a month of taking it. It didn't make my hair grow long or thick AT ALL. I called the company about it. They said to just keep taking it, that hair loss initially is normal. I followed their direction and kept taking it. Now I realize I shouldn't have because MORE or my hair fell out. I called the company again, they were rude and couldn't wait to get me off the phone. They wouldn't help or refund any money. It took a couple of YEARS and another product to open my hair folicles again and allow my hair to grow back. 2 YEARS! What a nightmare it was! After my experience, I would caution anyone using this product to beware of losing a large part of their existing hair.
