Mon Mar 24 2008I hate the Spurs, but you can't deny that he is the greatest Power Foward of All-Time.P.S. Rick Pitino once said when he took over the Celtics: "I knew I was screwed when we didn't get the number 1 pick, Tim Duncan". He made Gregg Popvich this so called "Great" coach, what a joke that is.

Fri Feb 15 2008Will certainly go down as one of the best players in the history of the NBA. Sure, he may seem to play boring, but that is basketball at it's best. Beautiful.

Wed May 16 2007Duncan doesn't do anything exciting, he just happens to be one of the most fundamentally sound players to play the game (OK, only if you ignore his free throw shooting).

Wed Sep 20 2006I assume we're rating these players based on their level of play NOW, not on their whole careers. If I was rating Duncan's entire NBA career, I'd give him a 50 out of 5. The man is phenomenal. One of the greatest players who ever lived. He still gets a 5 from me based on his present-day performance, because although he is running out of steam, he is still carrying the Spurs on his shoulders. When he's not scoring, he's creating double and tripple teams and leaving his teammates wide open for easy shots and drives. His defense is still solid. This man will be a perfect 5 till the day he retires.

Sat Aug 12 2006Great player, but I took 2 stars cause' he's a crybaby. He whines to the refs about everything. I hate the Spurs, they are all floopers and whiners, that aint how I ball. I take it to the rim hard.

Sun Jun 25 2006NBA is officially a form of entertainment, as the Gladiator were for the Romans. If a Gladiator walk out and killed every Gladiator with one swoop of a sword, attending Gladiator matches would become monotonous and never exciting and fresh. Do you get it, this guy is being paid millions to entertain and he is not entertaining. Tim Duncan hurts the sport. The numbers were up dramatically for the 2006 finals compared to watching a silhouette of a man play when the Spurs were nawing (opposite of awing) the croud. Well he is a robot and should be studied so we do not make the same mistake on the next robot. T

Sat Apr 15 2006I really wonder what all the fuss about Time Duncan is. The BIG fundamental? Someone please explain a few aspects of his game that show how much he espouses the fundamentals, and how other centers like KG or a big guy like Dirk are inferior. Don't talk rings. Thats team work, Popovich's strategy. We know Manu was the finals MVP in 2005. Duncan: 1. Takes an inordinate time to take his shot once he gets the ball, even at the post 2. Takes a minute to look around to make sure he has an open jumper at distances like 12 ft from the basket. He uses the board, makes bank shots. so that makes him great? Any big guy, take KG or gifted athlete like Marion can average a double double ever night. Please , please tell me why Tim is better. He's so slow!

Thu Feb 02 2006Thinking of Tim Duncan makes me sleeeeeeeepy. Personally, I think Kevin Garnett is better because he is more athletic and he shows emotion. Tim is great, I just think that KG and Dirk are better fowards.

Sun Jan 22 2006This guy plays the game the way it is supposed to be played. The object to the game is to win. This isn't the parks and rec league where they give out trophies for participation, who cares how good you look while you lose? His game reminds me somewhat of Kevin McHale's. Another guy who know what it takes to be a winner. Keep the playground crap for the playground. That showboat garbage is the reason why the international teams kick our asses every year. You don't do a sack dance when your down 40-0 with two minutes left in the 4th quarter. That is, unless you like losing.

Tue Dec 06 2005TIMOTHY DUNCAN IS WHACK. I give him his props on making a name for his self in the nba, but its the most boring name in the nba. Duncan is a backboard abuser. He doesn't get emotional or pumped up or angry or motivational, but what he is, is BORING.

Wed Nov 16 2005You got lucky, Tim. My Pistons should've beaten you, but Ginobili bailed you out. Duncan is a good player, but his lack of emotion on the court means that while he does lead quietly, he doesn't get up in the guys faces when they need it. He's far too passive. He's not too good at free throws and I never see him really trying to improve in that area. Then again, he could get a lot more of those free throws if he'd be more of a banger inside. I hear complaining about soft foreigners, well Duncan is just as soft. Also, if he was truly great, he wouldn't be overshadowed by guys like Ginobili and Parker. Great players ALWAYS dominate others, and this guy doesn't. He's good, but I'll bet any of the Pistons, including Tayshaun Prince, can score and do his job just as well.

Sat Jul 30 2005Hate him, and I hate his game... watching him is like watching someone mow their grass. But he wins.

Mon Jul 18 2005I'm giving Tim an extra star for destroying my Detroit Pistons. Excellent series. Tim Duncan, I fear, would not excel out of the San Antonio system. Greg Popovich and the club are truly intelligent, clever masters of the game. The Spurs make a point of going after international players that are easier to develop into solid contributors. Tim Duncan is easily a major threat underneath the basket, and the prevalence of outside shooters on the Spurs team creates dilemmas for opponents. The Spurs' only weakness seems to be Shaquille O'Neal, because Shaq can effectively cover Duncan. Tim is not a great player, but an important part of a solid team.

Sun Jun 26 2005Tim Duncan is amazing. He can do it all. He's never one to pound on his chest or argue with the refs, but he is always the one to throw the extra pass to the open guy on the perimeter, or the one to grab his own rebound and get his two points. He's really admirable.
by proballer22
Sun Jun 12 2005great player. He doesn't need to embarrass himself and act like an ass on the court. He just does his job and let his actions speak for his words. no wonder why his teams in the finals.

Mon May 02 2005the best player right now
by indyboi
Thu Feb 03 2005He is one of the best player to play for San Antonio. He is a great fundamental player that I love to watch. If only he had a personality.
by qrchandc
Fri Nov 19 2004Tim Duncan is all about the fundamentals. Any basketball purists will see that he has excellent footwork and exceptional court vision with high basketball IQ. 7 footer or not, those are skills that will make one a success in basjetball. If being tall makes one a good player...just think Shawn Bradley, Wang Zhi Zhi..enough said.

Fri Sep 17 2004One of the classiest players in the league. He is a team player and loyal. There are two very rare combinations in the NBA. Any team in the league would want this guy. A class act all the way and future Hall of Famer.

Thu Sep 09 2004duncan is a great player no doubt. but it is time for KG to take over. Once Malone is on the twolves its ring time, dont hate everyone.

Thu Jul 29 20042 time NBA Champ and MVP
by jewelz
Thu Jul 29 2004He's o.k, but he acts too shy and looks dumb all the time
by spurschick
Fri Jul 16 2004His acting is cute. I think he's under rated if anything due to his inability to be a ball hogging showman. All these people 'n kids have ADD now and have to see sparks 'n flash. This is BASKETBALL, not a gay glitter show, and Tim has the GAME down to a perfect T. This is a man to look up to, rather than an accused rapist and a big fat guy who can't stop from cursing(whining) on tv about the refs. He is some of the only LIFE LEFT of the NBA. The realest. Not Hollywood.

Wed Jun 30 2004his acting sucks, ><

Sat Jun 26 2004Tim Duncan isn't really that good.He uses his hieght that is all. With out his other players he would b sorry.

Fri Jun 04 2004tim duncan is an interesting player in that he is very boring and is fundamentally sound. he looks like he just throws the ball up and gets lucky...consitently. definitely hall of famer.

Sat Jul 05 2003kerry s. u suck balls. Timmy is the man. No one can defend him anywhere. If you think I'm wrong then just look at who is the current MVP of the entire league. Oh he just got lucky some of you dicks might say but than explain why he's gotten it two years in a row! Tim D. is an awesome player and is definatley already on of the 50th greatest players of all time!
by ndawg5
Sat Jun 28 2003Tim Duncan can do it all, well is a great, trustworthy team player will go down as a top 10!
by lp_rules
Sun Jun 22 2003Tim duncan i one of the baest along sid David Robinson And I hope He will lead the Spurs to another Championship!!!
by carini26
Tue Jun 10 2003These playoffs have really allowed the rest of the country to see how good Tim Duncan really is. He will not be the guy on sportscenter every night, but he is the best all around player in this league hands down. The fact that he is a model citizen and great teammate puts him in an elite class of players. Before it's all said and done, Duncan will be one of the 10 best ever to play the game.
by tiff03
Thu May 29 2003Tim Duncan is one of the greatest players in the wnba. I love him and I like to watch him play basketball. He deserves the championship more then anybody especially with David Robison retiring.
by aenzhru
Wed May 28 2003I remember watching Tim Duncan in college and I thought he was better than average and that's it. I never imagined that he would immediately become one of the best NBA players I've ever seen, which he is. His footwork is great, he has excellent moves and fakes, and with a very accurate, pure release, being 7 feet tall and having a patented jump-hook, backboard shot and straightaway shot, he's unstoppable and shoots with a very high percentage. His defensive presence is no less noteworthy. He's not quite as dominating defensively as Shaq, but he's still great. A shoo-in for the hall-of-fame and maybe even the best center ever.

Sun May 25 2003I'm embarassed to admit that I didn't know this guy existed until this year's play-offs. I had long ago considered San Antonio to be dull, but watched them this year to see if they could beat the Lakers. What an impressive player - he can do lots of things so well and is great fun to watch. He sounds intelligent during post-game interviews too, unlike some players out there.
